Now reading: Chapter 213: Assault Trooper from Rebirth of the Super Battleship, a Sci-fi novel by Rainbow Gate.

On this vast battlefield, just a single flagship of the Molian Civilization was able to pin down one-fifth of Xiao Yu’s total forces. This once again proved its formidable strength. However, the stronger it was, the more valuable it was.

Leaving everything else aside, the re fact that it required at least fifty thousand Molian Civilization beings to operate it made it an extraordinary treasure. If one ignored factors such as loyalty, their value alone exceeded that of the entire Luka society.

After all, these were Level 5 Civilization beings. Even if they weren’t professional scientists, serving on such a large starship ant that they at least possessed knowledge of so Level 5 Civilization common skills, along with certain technologies that were common sense to Level 5 Civilizations but extrely valuable to Level 4 Civilizations.

That was true wealth.

For the sake of this massive fortune, Xiao Yu redeployed four Province-Class ships and a large number of City-Class and County-Class ships from other battlefields to join this one.

Once the four Province-Class ships entered the battlefield, they imdiately assud the main assault role. With their enormous energy reserves, their Four-Dinsional Shields were far stronger than those of other ships. With the addition of these four Province-Class ships, the destruction rate of smaller ships imdiately dropped significantly.

The four Province-Class ships occupied four directions. In the gaps between them were County-Class and City-Class ships, while the smaller ships darted nimbly through the openings. Over one hundred thousand ships simultaneously unleashed Xiao Yu’s fury upon the flagship.

An endless barrage of energy bombs, high-energy particle cannons, gravitational bombs, elental decay missiles, material disintegration beams, and more converged into a torrent of death, surging down upon the enemy. Yet such a powerful onslaught was completely withstood by this flagship from a Level 5 Civilization. Xiao Yu observed that its Energy Shield only flickered slightly, just a flicker.

The massive warship, displaying a brownish-yellow hue and exuding a desolate and solemn atmosphere, once again revealed its formidable strength.

The muzzle of the massive Energy Cannon mounted at the front of the flagship began to flicker. Xiao Yu knew this was the sign that the cannon was about to fire. But his ships no longer had ti to evade. In the direction of the cannon, three County-Class ships and several hundred Village-Class ships were gathered.

Relying on their excellent maneuverability, the Village-Class ships scrambled to flee, quickly escaping the strike zone. The three County-Class ships, limited by their mass, only managed to flee less than three kiloters before the massive energy shell arrived.

This was the first clash between the Four-Dinsional Shield and the flagship’s most powerful attack. Xiao Yu saw that the mont the massive energy shell made contact with the Four-Dinsional Shield, a burst of incredibly intense light exploded forth, like a miniature sun. With the flash ca an imnse energy eruption, like a violent storm sweeping across dozens of kiloters.

“The Four-Dinsional Shield of that County-Class ship has been destroyed,” Xiao Yu thought with so heartache.

This was the first Four-Dinsional Shield to be destroyed since entering the battlefield.

In truth, the Molian Civilization’s flagship was only capable of destroying County-Class ships, because among the ships equipped with Four-Dinsional Shields, County-Class ships were the smallest and required the least energy to maintain their shields. If it were a City-Class or Province-Class ship, the Molian Civilization flagship would need to fire dozens or even over a hundred tis to destroy it.

The remaining two County-Class ships were not directly struck, but the explosion of the first County-Class ship’s Four-Dinsional Shield had an enormous impact on them. Xiao Yu observed that at the mont of the shield’s destruction, a surge of energy far more powerful than he had imagined erupted outward. Under its influence, the two ships were thrown like kites with broken strings, tumbling away into the distance. This massive energy shockwave caused them serious damage.

Xiao Yu made a snap decision, imdiately directing the two ships to use their remaining maneuverability to barely fly to the rear of the battlefield to begin repairs. At the sa ti, a question arose in his heart.

“Why would the disintegration of a Four-Dinsional Shield release such an enormous amount of energy?”

Previously, because no County-Class or higher ships had been destroyed, Xiao Yu had never observed this phenonon. He had no idea that such a powerful force was hidden within the Four-Dinsional Shield.

This phenonon did not align with Xiao Yu’s understanding. According to his knowledge, the working principle of the Four-Dinsional Shield Generator was nothing more than charging it up to emit the shield, providing protection for the ship. Once the energy was cut off, the Four-Dinsional Shield would simply disappear.

“It’s certain that this enormous energy didn’t co from my ship. Even if all the matter making up the ship were converted into energy, it still wouldn’t be enough. That ans… this energy must have co from the Four-Dinsional Shield Generator itself?”

A vague theory began to form in Xiao Yu’s mind.

“The fundantal difference between the Four-Dinsional Shield and three-dinsional matter is the presence of that extra dinsion. It’s clear that when the Four-Dinsional Shield is destroyed, the fourth dinsion disappears too, because it cannot stably exist in a three-dinsional world. So… could this enormous energy be the result of the fourth dinsion collapsing into the third?”

“It’s very likely,” Xiao Yu concluded. “The fall of a fourth dinsion into a third releases energy, massive amounts of energy. While the reverse process, ascending from three to four dinsions, consus energy… that must be it. However, the study of dinsions falls under the domain of the Taihao Civilization, or even more advanced Level 7 Civilizations. I don’t yet have the ability to conduct deep research in this area. But now that I’ve discovered this phenonon and I happen to have so Four-Dinsional Shields on hand, why not make use of them?”

Xiao Yu carefully calculated. A plan was already forming in his mind.

On the battlefield, the fierce fighting continued. Countless warships rained down their fury, but under such a powerful assault, the Molian Civilization flagship’s shield rely flickered. It showed no signs of dimming, much less breaking.

“So this is a shield created with Level 5 Civilization technology? As expected, it’s extrely formidable…”

It was certain that this shield incorporated technologies Xiao Yu had not yet mastered. After making a rough estimate, Xiao Yu concluded that while it was far inferior to the Four-Dinsional Shield, it was still not sothing that could be breached in a short ti using only Level 4 Civilization weaponry.

Xiao Yu’s current predicant was sowhat awkward. Although the Four-Dinsional Shield was powerful, given his current energy technology, he couldn’t unleash its full potential. At best, it was only marginally stronger than the shields of Molian ships of the sa class. As for offense, Xiao Yu was still entirely reliant on Level 4 Civilization technology. Facing the shield of a Level 5 Civilization, he felt clearly outmatched.

It was as if a warrior clad in the latest high-tech armor was still wielding a Stone Age axe in battle.

“This flagship shows no signs of energy exhaustion yet. Looks like it can still last for a while. But I don’t have much ti. If it delays long enough for its reinforcents to arrive, I’ll be in trouble.” A sense of urgency crept into Xiao Yu’s heart.

“Then… it’s ti to test this thod. There are a total of one hundred thousand Four-Dinsional Shield Generators. Sacrificing a few to take down this flagship would be a worthwhile trade.”

Xiao Yu clenched his teeth and formulated a new battle plan.

Under his command, the intense barrage continued to hamr the flagship, but amid this heavy assault, five City-Class ships suddenly and strangely broke formation, moving in close to the massive flagship.

In the current battlefield conditions, such a move was practically suicidal. But Xiao Yu had his own plan.

And that was… to use the massive energy released by the rupture of the Four-Dinsional Shield to blast open the sturdy outer hull of this flagship!

After all, the Shield Generators were all the sa size, whether installed on a Province-Class or County-Class ship. And clearly, because City-Class ships had greater energy reserves, the energy released when their shields broke would be even more powerful than that of a County-Class ship.

This was why Xiao Yu chose City-Class ships as the assault troopers. If Province-Class ships weren’t so rare, he would have even considered using them to breach the defenses.

Under Xiao Yu’s watchful gaze, the five City-Class ships slowly approached the enemy flagship, still unleashing powerful firepower as they advanced.

Just as Xiao Yu expected, the flagship responded aggressively to these reckless advances. A large portion of its firepower was focused on the five City-Class ships, while it ignored many other targets.

Under such intense bombardnt, the Four-Dinsional Shields of the five ships began to show violent fluctuations. Xiao Yu knew this was the precursor to their rupture.

So of the internal circuits had already burned out due to the overwhelming energy output. But Xiao Yu paid no attention to this. Braving the intense barrage, he drove the ships even closer to the flagship.

Until he could clearly see the outer hull of the enemy vessel through optical instrunts.

Then, as one of the City-Class ships was struck again by a massive energy cannon blast, it instantly turned into a ball of white light, releasing an incomprehensibly huge burst of explosive energy.
