Now reading: Chapter 214: Breach Into the Interior! from Rebirth of the Super Battleship, a Sci-fi novel by Rainbow Gate.

Xiao Yu had now basically confird that when a Four-Dinsional Shield ruptured, due to the loss of stable energy support for the fourth dinsion, it collapsed into the three-dinsional realm, and in that collapse, an imnse burst of energy was released. Xiao Yu intended to harness this energy to destroy the shield of the flagship.

In this situation, the Four-Dinsional Shield was no longer serving as a ans of defense. It had been transford into a massive, powerful bomb.

Xiao Yu closely monitored the scene beside the flagship.

He saw that under the intense white light, the flagship’s Energy Shield was violently fluctuating, like roiling clouds.

The five City-Class ships were extrely close, so the explosion’s energy didn’t just impact the flagship, it also affected the other four City-Class ships nearby.

And so, under Xiao Yu’s gaze, a chain reaction occurred among the five ships.

The remaining four City-Class ships were already on the verge of collapse, heavily damaged under the flagship’s overwhelming firepower. Now, exposed to this trendous blast of energy, they could no longer hold out, their Four-Dinsional Shields shattered all at once.

In total, five City-Class ships detonated, equivalent to five massive bombs. The energy released by these five bombs far exceeded the power of any weapon in Xiao Yu’s arsenal. Elental decay bombs were utterly insignificant in comparison.

This entire region was engulfed in endless white light. Areas that weren’t consud by the light underwent bizarre distortions.

The entire flagship even visibly shuddered under the force of the explosions. Almost imdiately, the intensity of its firepower dropped by several dozen percentage points, clear evidence of severe damage.

When the blinding white light finally faded, Xiao Yu witnessed a shocking sight.

On the flagship’s massive hull, stretching several kiloters in length, there was now a gaping hole. The inside was brightly lit, and the light from within poured out into the dark vacuum of space. At that mont, fragnts of the ship’s hull, shattered instrunts, and various unidentified objects were being expelled into space, carried by the air still venting from the breach.

Under the devastating assault of the five City-Class ships that had turned themselves into bombs, the flagship had been blasted open, leaving a giant breach in its hull.

However, the Energy Shield covering the flagship had not disappeared. It still protected the remaining parts of the ship. In this area, the shield appeared to behave like a physical object, ruptured just like the hull.

This phenonon astonished Xiao Yu.

“The shielding technology of this ship is different from others. It appears to be modular. Damaging one section doesn’t cause the entire shield to collapse. Unlike my own shields, if one point is breached, it’s as good as the whole shield being destroyed.”

Clearly, such a modular Energy Shield was more advanced than Xiao Yu’s current shield systems. The advantages were obvious. In this case, even though the Energy Shield in this area was destroyed, the ship as a whole could still fight. Not like Xiao Yu’s own ships, where a broken shield usually ant the entire ship was dood.

However, it seed to have certain high requirents. At the very least, even the Molian Civilization, which had mastered modular Energy Shield technology, had only installed it on this flagship. Their City-Class ships and smaller vessels still used ordinary, integrated shields.

“My interest in you grows stronger and stronger,” Xiao Yu murmured to himself. “The ship can still fight, huh? No matter. With this breach… it’s enough.”

“All remaining ships, maintain fire. Nearby ships provide covering fire. Combat robot transport ships, comnce boarding…”

Under Xiao Yu’s orders, a series of follow-up operations unfolded in an orderly manner.

The other ships continued to fire relentlessly at the target, disrupting it while also trying to expand the breach. Several other ships loaded with combat robots were moving in toward the opening, attempting to land aboard.

No matter how solid a fortress may be, it is always easier to breach from the inside. Now, Xiao Yu intended to put that truth into practice once again.

But under his watchful gaze, the breach over a hundred ters in diater, began to squirm. The hull at the edge of the opening writhed like a living organism, steadily extending forward. As the hull regrew, the flagship’s shield expanded with it.

“It’s trying to repair the breach!” Xiao Yu instantly concluded, and then he understood.

“It seems that modular Energy Shield technology is the direction in which tech is evolving. In that case, the nanobot technology I had set aside needs to be picked up again.”

Without a doubt, this hull-repair technology was nanobot-based or sothing similar. Xiao Yu had already mastered nanobot tech and had long since installed it on his ships. However, ever since entering the realm of Level 3 Civilizations, Xiao Yu had set that technology aside and had barely touched it.

The reason was simple: the ergence of Energy Shield technology ant that a ship’s hull was rarely directly attacked anymore. The Energy Shield bore the brunt of all assaults. In most cases, if the shield was broken, it ant the ship had already been destroyed. Under such circumstances, nanobot repair systems had little use.

But now, Xiao Yu knew he had been wrong. In the realm of Level 5 Civilization technology, this tech had once again proven its worth.

Because Level 5 Civilizations had begun to master modular Energy Shield technology, hull repair systems had beco especially important in conjunction with it.

“We can’t let them repair the breach.” Xiao Yu made the decision instantly. He imdiately deployed several hundred County-Class ships, dozens of City-Class ships, and a large number of smaller ships, directing all of their firepower toward the breach to do everything possible to halt the repair process.

At the sa ti, a few ships loaded with combat robots accelerated. Under covering fire and the protection of their Four-Dinsional Shields, they struggled to reach the breach and began deploying the robots.

These combat robots were based on the models from the Arrow Beast howorld. In the ti since, Xiao Yu had modified them to better suit large-scale ship-boarding operations.

But sothing unexpected happened. As soon as the robots entered the breach, they ca under imdiate attack. A barrage of high-powered laser cannons, particle beams, miniature gravitational bombs, and antimatter rounds greeted them.

“This must be the ship’s internal defense systems. Of course, if they’ve adopted modular Energy Shield technology, then they must have done research on boarding defense as well. Using this thod makes perfect sense,” Xiao Yu thought.

This was yet another example of where the Molian Civilization was ahead of him. Xiao Yu’s ships had virtually no internal defenses. Of course, with his current technology level, there wasn’t much reason to install such systems. If an enemy could enter the interior of Xiao Yu’s ships, that would an the Four-Dinsional Shield had already been shattered. Which, in turn, ant the ship was essentially destroyed. What point would there be in defending against boarders?

Compared to Xiao Yu’s boarding robots, the internal defenses of this flagship were incredibly powerful. Xiao Yu had no better solution than to rely on overwhelming numbers.

To quickly clear a path, Xiao Yu steeled himself and sent in another County-Class ship, positioning it right at the breach. He then directed his own fleet to open fire on the ship, destroying its Four-Dinsional Shield.

Imdiately, a brilliant white light flared once more. The difference this ti was that, without the protection of an outer shield, the explosion caused far more damage to the flagship than previous blasts. Xiao Yu saw that once the white light faded, the radius of the breach had expanded yet again. Furthermore, because so of the explosive force penetrated directly into the ship’s interior, the internal defense systems that had been blocking Xiao Yu’s boarding robots had completely vanished.

“Excellent! Sacrificing a few precious Four-Dinsional Shield Generators was worth it!” Xiao Yu thought, and issued a new command: “Robot transport ships, latch on now!”

Under his command, a County-Class transport ship loaded with combat robots latched tightly onto the breach in the flagship’s hull, like a leech. But this leech wasn’t here to draw blood, it was here to bleed.

A County-Class ship could carry one hundred thousand combat robots. Under Xiao Yu’s control, all one hundred thousand sward into the breach, pouring into the interior of the flagship. And once that ship was empty, the second County-Class ship moved in…

In truth, now that the breach was open, Xiao Yu had the firepower to completely destroy the entire ship if he focused all his weapons on that point. But he had no intention of doing so.

A flagship of a Level 5 Civilization was too valuable. As long as there was even the slightest chance of capturing it, Xiao Yu would take that chance.

And so, one County-Class ship after another delivered wave upon wave of boarding robots. In total, millions of combat robots had already entered the ship’s interior and the number continued to grow…
