Now reading: Chapter 344: The Pursuit from Rebirth of the Super Battleship, a Sci-fi novel by Rainbow Gate.

In this tiny Four-Dinsional sphere, Xiao Yu’s fleet and the Level 4 Alien Beast were locked in a desperate chase, one side relentlessly pursuing, the other desperately fleeing.

A total of 1.5 million ships were participating in the pursuit. That number seed imnse, yet even so, these ships were scattered across a region spanning tens of billions of kiloters, and still felt insufficient. Fortunately, thanks to the vast number of detection satellites Xiao Yu had deployed, he could track the creature’s direction and current location at any ti. At the sa ti, the remaining 1.5 million ships that stayed behind played a crucial role. Though not intended for direct combat, their re presence deterred the beast from approaching within several billion kiloters of their vicinity.

In such a confined space, escaping was a highly technical endeavor. During this period, both Xiao Yu and the Level 4 Alien Beast had exhausted countless sches, constantly shifting between pursuit and evasion. The techniques of tracking and fleeing were pushed to their absolute limits in this deadly ga.

However, the scales of victory continued to tilt toward Xiao Yu’s side. The reason was simple: on the battlefield, intelligence only matters when the difference in strength is small. Right now, Xiao Yu’s power far surpassed that of the Level 4 Alien Beast. No matter how cunning it was, it was ultimately useless.

Then ca another brief clash. One of Xiao Yu’s Province-Class ship formations unexpectedly ran into the Level 4 Alien Beast. Neither side exchanged words, both imdiately launched into battle.

A Province-Class ship formation typically consisted of one Province-Class ship, accompanied by fifty to one hundred City-Class ships, around two thousand County-Class ships, and roughly ten thousand smaller vessels. It was already a formidable combat unit, though still no match for the Level 4 Alien Beast.

Unfortunately for the beast, it had its own reservations. After being entangled with Xiao Yu for so long, it had co to understand Xiao Yu’s combat capabilities well. It wasn’t afraid of Xiao Yu’s weapon systems; to it, a Province-Class ship formation wasn’t worth worrying about. But there was one thing it feared deeply, so much so that it could no longer fight at full strength or even give its all in battle.

That thing was the Four-Dinsional Shield. After being struck several tis by such shields, the beast had developed a deep fear of them. It simply couldn’t comprehend why such a small thing as a Province-Class ship, even if destroyed, could unleash such terrifying destructive power. During a previous encounter, when it destroyed the Jakarta, a Province-Class ship under the Indonesia Nation-Class ship, it had been caught too close to the explosion. As a result, a tail segnt over ten kiloters long had been blown off.

It couldn’t run, there was only so much space in this small universe. It couldn’t fight either, even if it might win, it didn’t dare try. Just the explosion of a Province-Class ship already carried such imnse destructive power. Who could say what kind of apocalyptic blast a Nation-Class ship might produce? So now, when it saw a Nation-Class ship, it didn’t even dare to fight. It simply turned and fled.

Xiao Yu could empathize with how it felt now, certainly full of pent-up frustration and deep gloom. After all, only a month ago, Xiao Yu had felt exactly the sa way.

This ti, the Province-Class ship formation that encountered the beast belonged to the Liaoning, a ship under the Nation-Class ship the China. The formation included over seventy City-Class ships and one thousand five hundred County-Class ships. Altogether, over fifteen thousand ships quickly ford their battle array and launched a fierce assault on the Level 4 Alien Beast.

Xiao Yu knew that a single Province-Class ship formation wasn’t enough to take it down. But he hadn’t expected to kill it with just that; rely pinning it down would suffice. Not far away, the Indonesia, Japan, and Russia Nation-Class ships were rushing to join the battle. The remaining two Nation-Class ships dispatched for this operation were also speeding toward key interception points to block off any escape routes for the beast.

Amidst the chaotic storm of cannon fire, the massive alien beast was struggling with all its might. After nearly a month of continuous fleeing, it had co to realize it could no longer escape. Its only remaining hope of survival was to exhaust Xiao Yu’s strength. If it could destroy all the small ships not equipped with Four-Dinsional Shields, perhaps a sliver of opportunity would appear.

That was its plan. And Xiao Yu understood it perfectly. Small ships were just as important to Xiao Yu as the larger ones. The entire fleet functioned as a single integrated entity, with each type of ship playing a crucial role. If it succeeded in carrying out its plan, then Xiao Yu might truly find himself helpless against it.

But Xiao Yu had a plan of his own. You want to wear down my small ships? Fine, co ahead. I’ve got over two million small ships. You want to deplete my strength? I intend to use the small ships to grind yours down instead. Let’s see who outlasts whom.

In this war of attrition, Xiao Yu had absolute confidence in victory.

In the pitch-black void of space, a long tentacle lashed out violently. In an instant, a Town-Class ship that failed to evade in ti was struck and exploded midair, turning into a ball of fla. But in the next mont, the tentacle was shredded by a concentrated barrage from several nearby County-Class ships. The enormous tentacle, stretching over ten kiloters, was blasted away and tumbled off to the side under the force of the explosion, exiting the battlefield. County-Class ships stationed there in advance quickly moved in and retrieved it.

No joke, this was part of a Level 4 Alien Beast’s body. Top-tier construction material. It couldn’t be allowed to go to waste.

In fact, over the course of this month-long hunt, Xiao Yu had grown highly proficient at this. During battles, fragnts of flesh were often blasted off the beast. While it was too busy to care, Xiao Yu had ample spare computational power. After a month, he had collected over a million tons of material in total, much of it consisting of these tentacles.

Xiao Yu’s vast fleet was like a surging river, relying on sheer persistence to strip flesh piece by piece from this stubborn stone. Xiao Yu believed that at this rate, even if it took ti, he would eventually grind the beast to death.

“Awooo!” An angry roar swept across the battlefield like a signal and was imdiately picked up by Xiao Yu. Once again wounded, the beast was enraged beyond reason. Abandoning all caution, it unleashed its full strength. In an instant, countless tentacles wrapped tightly around a City-Class ship. Then, holding it like a stone, it violently slamd it against another City-Class ship. The second ship didn’t have ti to evade and was hit head-on.

At this level of technological advancent, kinetic weapons had long been phased out by Xiao Yu. Normal collisions didn’t even register as a threat. Even Town-Class ships could ignore impacts from teors, let alone mid-sized City-Class ships. But this collision was too fast, too powerful. The two City-Class ships were simultaneously destroyed in a violent crash. Their Four-Dinsional Shields detonated at the sa ti, erupting into a blaze of fire. Enormous energy surged in all directions, and amidst the explosion, Xiao Yu even faintly heard agonized howls. Severed limbs, mangled body parts, and countless liquid substances resembling blood were flung into space. Cleanup ships stationed nearby imdiately rushed in to collect every last piece.

“Good stuff! Not a bad haul, over seventy thousand tons of flesh! You can have the two City-Class ships, sure, but if you want my things, you’re going to pay for it. That explosion must’ve hurt. Hmph. If you want to snatch chestnuts from the fire, be ready to get burned.” Xiao Yu sneered coldly in his mind, without a shred of sympathy, while commanding three Nation-Class ships along with countless dium and small ships to accelerate their approach.

“As long as we can form an encirclent, it won’t be able to escape,” Xiao Yu thought. “Just thirty more minutes. Thirty minutes will be enough.”

The entire Province-Class ship formation under the Liaoning once again intensified their assault. Several City-Class ships even fearlessly blocked the creature’s escape route with their own bodies. After being caught in the blast of two City-Class ships, the beast had grown wary. It no longer dared to charge forward recklessly. Instead, it flailed about in the center of the battlefield, using its tentacles to whip at the endlessly approaching swarm of small ships, which were like mosquitoes, countless and relentless. But no matter how hard it thrashed, it couldn’t swat them all away.

The number of wounded limbs and severed flesh on its body was increasing. Its tentacles were growing fewer. Though they still appeared densely packed, Xiao Yu, who had seen it in its pri, could easily tell, it had lost over twenty percent of its tentacles.

Its regeneration ability was strong. Given enough ti and resources, just ten days, it could fully regenerate. But Xiao Yu wasn’t about to give it even one hour, not even a single minute to catch its breath. His omnipresent ships and probes always found it the mont it tried to vanish. Then the small ships would swarm like flies drawn to rot. Next ca the nearest dium ships, followed by the large ships…

“There’s a path to heaven, and you don’t take it. Yet you barge into hell, where there’s no gate. You could’ve lived a peaceful life, but you insisted on following into this small universe. Let’s see if you can still run all the way to the sky from here…”
