Including the Fla Civilization’s ships, roughly fifteen million warships had been destroyed here. Even the Star-Class battleship Xiao Yu had dispatched failed to escape destruction. At that ti, no fewer than four Level 6 Alien Beasts, at least three Taihao Civilizations, and several hundred thousand other warships encircled and besieged it. Faced with such overwhelming might, even the Solar spaceship would likely have been unable to gain the upper hand.
From this mont on, Xiao Yu had completely lost the ability to defend the entire small universe. Yet his attention was clearly not on this matter at all. Aboard the Star-Class battleship Science, in its central laboratory, Xiao Yu was carrying out an extrely critical experint.
Many colossal machines of intricate design were in operation. At the end of this array of machines, a box with a volu of about one cubic ter was gradually taking shape. Through the visible light spectrum, it was impossible to clearly see the appearance of this box or the process of its creation, because it seed to be shrouded in a layer of mist that concealed its true form.
The massive machines continued to operate for a full hour before they finally shut down. A mont later, the mist enveloping the box dispersed and its true image was revealed. It looked very ordinary, nothing more than a simple, square box.
Yet it was not ordinary at all. Only Xiao Yu knew that this box was sothing he had built by fusing the most advanced space technology of Level 7 civilizations and by expending enormous amounts of energy and effort.
A robot three ters tall walked over and opened the lid of the box. There did not seem to be any solid structure inside, only sothing like roiling thick fog, as though the box was filled with an opaque cloud.
After the lid was opened, the robot stepped into the box. The box was at most one ter in length, while the robot was three ters tall, yet that thick fog subrged the robot’s legs, then its chest, and finally its head.
Through the robot’s eyes, Xiao Yu observed everything within. Once the robot passed through the fog, the scene before its eyes changed completely and beca utterly different from before. What appeared before Xiao Yu was a vast expanse of space, and in this broad space a planet the size of Earth hung suspended. The light of an artificial sun illuminated the entire space, and in that light the robot carefully examined everything around it.
This was a structurally normal piece of space. It was not a small universe, so there was no need to worry about entropy increase. It was also different from ordinary space, so it was impossible to leave here by conventional ans.
The robot and its associated instrunts carefully asured many paraters of this space and finally produced results. Xiao Yu quietly let out a sigh of relief in his heart and guided the robot back out.
The Star-Class battleship Science was a ship Xiao Yu had built specifically for scientific research. It was roughly the size of the Moon. Inside it were countless experintal facilities, instrunts, and venues. Many of his scientific discoveries had been born and fully worked out here. Among this great number of experintal sites there was one lab that did not stand out. In that lab was a single room, and in that room there was an ordinary box one cubic ter on a side. Inside that box was a planet about the sa size as Earth.
It sounded strange, yet not so strange. This was Xiao Yu’s latest research result. By ans of the most advanced space technology, Xiao Yu could place an Earth-sized planet inside a box, and naturally he could also put other matter inside, such as weapons, fuel, or living beings. Xiao Yu’s technology had truly stepped onto a new level. From this mont on, he would be able to control space as easily as playing with a toy in his hand.
This was the true mark of entering the Level 7 civilization tier. After more than seven hundred years of research into this small universe left behind by a Level 7 civilization, Xiao Yu had finally beco a true Level 7 civilization. Of course, his Level 7 technology was still confined to the laboratory and had not yet entered full practical application. But at the very least, this ant there were no longer any scientific obstacles to Xiao Yu building Star Cluster-Class battleships.
“I finally succeeded, I finally beca a Level 7 civilization.” Xiao Yu sighed inwardly. “The next step is applied research, to truly put this technology to use in warship construction and in all other aspects.”
From this point forward, Xiao Yu was completely free from the strange mindset that more advanced warships had to be larger. He could build Star-Class battleships only the size of City-Class or County-Class spaceships, and could also build Planet-Class battleships as small as Province-Class spaceships. From now on, the size and mass of a spaceship would no longer be the standard by which its class was judged.
“Very good, the fundantal research is finished, the heaviest work has been completed, and what cos next will be much easier. The entire Androda Galaxy Alliance, is it? I have lost interest in continuing to tangle with you. Once I build enough Level 7 warships, I will sweep you all away. To have set your sights on , that is your unforgivable mistake. For now, I will let you jump around for a few days more.”
At this ti, a grand celebration was being held in a magnificent hall aboard the spaceship Aotian. All the leaders of the Level 6 Technological Civilizations were present. Everywhere were high-ranking civilization leaders, and among them the most dazzling figure was undoubtedly Ao Tian.
“We have already achieved a phase of victory. As long as in the next stage, the internal war within the small universe, we can take the star systems defended by the Sweepers Civilization, then we can plunder their technology on a large scale. Since they dared to invade our Androda Galaxy, we must make them pay the price.” Ao Tian said with full confidence.
“Yes, under your leadership, we will be invincible. This is only the first step our alliance has taken. Once we have mastered Level 7 civilization technology, we can step out of the Androda Galaxy and onto a larger stage in the universe.”
“A quasi-Level 7 civilization is formidable, but they cannot possibly be a match for hundreds of Level 6 civilizations joining forces.”
“The alliance structure should be even tighter. Otherwise, the obstacles to communication between different civilizations will seriously weaken our combat strength. I suggest we establish an Androda Galaxy Alliance Committee, with each civilization leader serving as a committee mber. From now on, all affairs of the alliance will be decided by the committee.”
“I propose that Ao Tian serve as the inaugural chairman of the committee. Only under Lord Ao Tian’s leadership can we achieve even greater victories.”
Ao Tian smiled and said, “We can discuss the matter of forming an alliance committee later. Our primary task is still to deal with the Sweepers Civilization and plunder the technology we need. However, strengthening the bonds between civilizations is indeed necessary. On this point, I have the following suggestions…”
A position like civilization leader could no longer satisfy Ao Tian. When he had first devised the plan to confront the Sweepers Civilization, he had already decided to form an alliance and take the position of its head. Level 7 technology was certainly important, but securing the legitimacy of his own status was just as important. This had to be done gradually and could not be rushed.
The grand victory banquet lasted for several hours. For a ti, host and guests alike were in high spirits, and almost everyone was filled with confidence in the alliance’s future.
“The entire Androda Galaxy will be mine…” Ao Tian stared out at the endless starry sky beyond the window and clenched his fist in secret.
In stark contrast to the celebratory mood here was the gloomy and desolate atmosphere within the Fla Civilization.
“All the military strength our civilization amassed over several hundred years has been wiped out in a single stroke. It will take us a very long ti to regain our previous level of military power. But that is not what matters. What matters is that all our warriors have died in battle, and also, which road our civilization should take in the future…”
“The failure of the small universe’s defense is already a foregone conclusion. Now it seems that even the Sweepers Civilization can no longer change the overall situation. Given the enmity between us and Ao Tian, if we are captured by them, our civilization will live a life worse than death…”
“At this point, we can only hope that when the Sweepers Civilization retreats, they will take us with them. If the Sweepers Civilization cannot take us away, then we can only choose to break out on our own. If we are captured, then we must choose suicide. These are the only paths left for our civilization.”
The mood here was heavy. Pessimism about the future filled everyone’s heart. No one’s face carried a smile, yet no matter how bleak the future looked, not one person suggested the word surrender.
The battle to defend the small universe had ended in complete defeat. Xiao Yu’s warships had retreated entirely to several star systems and were only defending those particular systems, abandoning every other region of the small universe.
Enormous numbers of alliance warships had already surged into the small universe. Because the devices used to control the small universe had all been destroyed in the earlier war with the Guardian Civilization, Xiao Yu could not rely on the small universe’s power to resist the enemy. The only thing he could depend on was himself.
Yet Xiao Yu was not in the least worried about his own fate. Even though more than forty billion warships were now assembled in the small universe, with dozens of Alien Beasts baring their savage fangs and dozens of Taihao Civilizations slipping about in bizarre ways, Xiao Yu still felt no concern for what would happen to him.
To Xiao Yu, in the final analysis, these fellows were nothing more than a bunch of Level 6 civilizations. What was there to fear?
