Now reading: Chapter 849: Maffei Galaxy Group from Rebirth of the Super Battleship, a Sci-fi novel by Rainbow Gate.

Xiao Yu was getting farther and farther away from the Milky Way Galaxy, and from the Large Magellanic Cloud that had already been destroyed and then reborn. Xiao Yu was about to begin another long-distance voyage. Waiting ahead of Xiao Yu was a long journey of seven thousand years.

That is right. Even at Xiao Yu’s current average speed of one thousand five hundred tis the speed of light, reaching Xiao Yu’s destination this ti would still require nearly seven thousand years. Xiao Yu would leave the Androda-Milky Way Galaxy Group and head toward the nearest other galaxy group, the Maffei Galaxy Group. Within the Maffei Galaxy Group, there was a galaxy nad by Xiao Yu as Maffei One. This galaxy was the target of Xiao Yu’s distant voyage.

Maffei One held a position in the Maffei Galaxy Group equivalent to that of the Androda Galaxy in the Local Group. Maffei One was the galaxy with the greatest mass and size in the Maffei Galaxy Group. It had a diater of roughly a little over sixty thousand light years. This diater was slightly more than half that of the Milky Way Galaxy, and larger than the Triangulum Galaxy as well.

Roughly eighty billion stars revolved within Maffei One. Overall, it was a fairly ordinary galaxy, but the position it occupied could serve as a springboard for Xiao Yu’s future trip to the Virgo Cluster. With Xiao Yu’s current technology, although he could directly obtain energy from the void, converting space into the various materials he needed was still limited by production capacity. Under such circumstances, finding a galaxy to serve as a springboard and a supply replenishnt point during the journey was still quite necessary.

The Androda Galaxy, the Milky Way Galaxy, and the Triangulum Galaxy, these three great giants, together with many tiny and dim satellite galaxies, ford the Androda-Milky Way Galaxy Group. Because this galaxy group was humanity’s place of origin, the location of Earth, this galaxy group was also called the Local Group. The Local Group was an astronomical unit one level larger than a galaxy, and the closest neighbor to the Local Group was this Maffei Galaxy Group.

The Androda-Milky Way Galaxy Group, the Maffei Galaxy Group, the Fornax Galaxy Group, the Auriga Galaxy Group, the Virgo Cluster, and so on together ford an even higher-level astronomical unit, the Virgo Supercluster. Because it was humanity’s place of origin, the Virgo Supercluster was also called the Local Supercluster. Then the Virgo Supercluster, together with the Pisces-Cetus Supercluster, the Perseus-Pisces Supercluster, the Auriga Supercluster, the Hercules Supercluster, and others, ford an even larger astronomical scale, the Pisces-Cetus Supercluster Complex.

And the astronomical structure known as a supercluster complex was still a great distance away from the current observable universe. The vastness of the universe could thus be clearly seen. It was a great existence that simply surpassed the limits of imagination of all intelligent lifeforms. Here, endless stars, black holes, galaxies, galaxy groups, superclusters, and so on followed the faintly hidden Rules and operated here for billions upon billions of years as if it were a single day.

Endless mysteries were hidden here. Endless wonders and beautiful sights were waiting for intelligent lifeforms to explore.

Sotis, just thinking about these dazzling large-scale structures was enough to make Xiao Yu feel hot blood surging in his heart. He could not help but feel dizzy and overwheld. This was simply too vast, vast to the point of making one despair. Even though Xiao Yu was now already a Level 7 Civilization and could travel at one thousand five hundred tis the speed of light, Xiao Yu still felt himself to be so tiny. rely leaving the Local Group and heading to the nearest Maffei Galaxy Group required nearly seven thousand years, not to ntion leaving the Local Supercluster or leaving the Local Supercluster Complex.

“The universe is so vast. Compared to it, the range of activity of a Level 7 Civilization amounts to only this little. I wonder what heights Level 8 and Level 9 Civilizations can reach… Thinking about it really is fascinating.” Xiao Yu sighed inwardly.

At this mont, Xiao Yu began to sowhat understand the significance of Level 7 or Level 8 Civilizations that followed the travel direction. Judging superficially, spending an endless lifespan entirely on sothing like travel seed to be an enormous waste, or even an insult to life. But when the universe was so boundless, so magnificent and moving, what was wrong with using ti on travel?

In fact, if Xiao Yu were not burdened with so many mysteries and so many missions, Xiao Yu also had the impulse to develop himself into a civilization of the travel direction. Spending millions or tens of millions of years to complete a single long journey also seed like a rather good idea. Sotis, Xiao Yu truly wanted to ignore everything, casually choose a direction, and just travel for eight hundred thousand or one million years first. After all, having already beco a Level 7 Civilization, he no longer had to worry about energy sources.

Every ti this impulse surfaced in his heart, Xiao Yu needed trendous self-control to suppress it. Xiao Yu continuously warned himself to keep his feet on the ground and develop step by step. As long as his technology advanced further, he would then be able to begin his cosmic journey in a way that saved much more effort and ti.

Whenever this happened, Xiao Yu would feel sowhat emotional about the days when he had still been on Earth. Just a tiny planet, nothing more. In this vast and boundless universe, it could not even compare to a speck of dust. Yet there had been so many of his own kind scheming exhaustively and scrambling greedily there over things so trivial they could not possibly be more trivial.

They truly were a ridiculous species, and that truly had been a ridiculous age.

After traveling for more than one thousand five hundred years, Xiao Yu arrived in the Androda Galaxy. After making a rough survey of the Androda Galaxy, Xiao Yu confird one thing, naly that ti reversal had indeed happened in the Androda Galaxy as well, just like what had happened in the Milky Way Galaxy. The Fla Civilization was gone, the mbers of the Androda Galaxy Alliance had all vanished, and in fact there was no longer any technological civilization at all in the Androda Galaxy. This had long been within Xiao Yu’s expectations, so Xiao Yu was not too shocked by it.

After staying in the Androda Galaxy for about four hundred years, Xiao Yu passed through it, arrived at the far edge of the Androda Galaxy, and began setting out toward the Triangulum Galaxy.

The Triangulum Galaxy was one of the three giants of the Local Group, and it was also the only large galaxy Xiao Yu had never explored. At this mont, before leaving the Local Group, no matter what, Xiao Yu had to go and explore it.

“When the Guardian Civilization, with only Level 6 Civilization technological strength, undertook intergalactic travel, that move really must be said to have had great courage. However, judging by their technological level and travel speed at that ti, they would need more than twenty thousand years to reach the Triangulum Galaxy from the Milky Way Galaxy. At this mont, their journey is only halfway done.” Xiao Yu silently contemplated this. “Well then, let them develop. A re Level 6 Civilization is still not worth my wasting ti searching for them in this starry sky. Or perhaps… I could leave sothing in the Triangulum Galaxy and give them a little help. Or I could first explore the Triangulum Galaxy, and if there are overly powerful civilizations there, I could destroy them first and clear away so obstacles for their arrival. After all, they are civilizations that ca out of the Milky Way Galaxy too. I am about to leave the Local Group, so helping them a little would be understandable.”

There had been grudges between Xiao Yu and the Guardian Civilization, but in Xiao Yu’s eyes now, those matters no longer counted for much. It was like how, when people grow up, the grudges of childhood disperse like smoke. In fact, if necessary, Xiao Yu was even willing to help the Guardian Civilization a little.

With such thoughts in mind, Xiao Yu once again spent roughly seven hundred years arriving in the Triangulum Galaxy. Xiao Yu knew that the Triangulum Galaxy had not undergone ti reversal. What surprised Xiao Yu was that there were no intelligent lifeforms whatsoever in the Triangulum Galaxy. If that were all, Xiao Yu would not have been so shocked. What truly shocked Xiao Yu was that there were many, many civilization ruins within the Triangulum Galaxy.

Xiao Yu was exploring here, and many conclusions appeared in Xiao Yu’s mind.

“This is the site of a Level 3 Civilization. They very clearly did not yet master curvature flight technology, but what is very strange is why, in such a nearby place, there is also the ruin of a Level 4 Civilization. Could it be that this Level 3 Civilization was a vassal of this Level 4 Civilization? No, that is not right. There are also ruins of a Level 5 Civilization here, and Level 6 Civilization ruins as well… This is an empty area, very clearly one where traces of existence were deliberately erased by so existence. Although there is no direct evidence, I believe that a Level 7 Civilization must once have existed here.”

“Could it be that, within the Local Group, apart from , there is another Level 7 Civilization?” Xiao Yu contemplated this question in great confusion. “One Level 7 Civilization, plus a large number of low-level civilizations at Level 6 and below… Why does this look so much like the existence pattern of the Alliance of Civilizations? And the ruins here are not very old. They very clearly left not long ago, at most no more than two thousand years. Why did they leave in such a hurry, and moreover, seemingly deliberately conceal the traces of their departure?”

The scene here left Xiao Yu very puzzled. But it was destined that no one would co to resolve this puzzle for Xiao Yu. After thinking it over, Xiao Yu still decided not to investigate it further here.

“Whatever the reason, it has nothing to do with anyway. Ti to go, leave here, and head to Maffei One…”

Xiao Yu adjusted the direction of his fleet and headed toward that distant galaxy in the void. But he did not expect that at this mont, a trace of spatial fluctuation would be detected by Xiao Yu.

“Spatial fluctuation? Curvature flight? Nearby, there is a spacecraft of intelligent lifeforms currently in curvature flight!” In an instant, Xiao Yu confird this point.
