Now reading: Chapter 848: Feiyuan Galaxy from Rebirth of the Super Battleship, a Sci-fi novel by Rainbow Gate.

Back in the Androda Galaxy, when detonating that Level 7 Civilization’s small universe, based on his observation of the phenonon of ‘the Rules being broken.’ Xiao Yu had once made so speculations about the two types of philosophical weapons.

The main difference between the first type of philosophical weapon and the second type of philosophical weapon lay in whether the involvent of a third party was required. The second type of philosophical weapon was a true philosophical weapon in the strict sense. Its implentation required no reason at all. If you possessed a second type philosophical weapon and gave it the command to extinguish the sun, then the sun would imdiately go out, with no reason whatsoever, extinguished without any cause. Because under the power of the second type philosophical weapon, causality had already been broken. A result no longer needed a cause to support it. Within such a system, anything could happen for no reason at all. A cup suddenly turning into a tiger, or the sun suddenly going out, likewise required no cause or reason at all.

The first type of philosophical weapon was different. Compared to the second type, the first type philosophical weapon was less powerful and more limited. Its principle was to first specify an effect, and then let the main universe itself complete the cause for that effect. In other words, it still remained within the system of causality. Causality still functioned and had not been broken. Within this system, a result still required a cause. If you gave it an order to extinguish the sun, then before the sun went out, a whole series of events might occur. For example, so super alien civilization might arrive there and, for so reason, use so unknown technology to stop the solar system’s nuclear fusion in an instant. It still needed other elents to serve as driving forces. It still needed cause and reason.

This was the difference between the first type philosophical weapon and the second type philosophical weapon. What this scientist was worried about was precisely this. That ‘it’ was a philosophical weapon was already beyond doubt. After sufficient energy had been supplied, ‘it’ successfully carried out the Dark Star Civilization leader’s command and destroyed the entire Large Magellanic Cloud. But these scientists and the leader did not know whether this had happened with a cause or without one. If there was no cause, then naturally that would be good, but… what if there was a cause?

If there was a cause, then why had the Large Magellanic Cloud been destroyed? A galaxy would naturally not destroy itself for no reason, so there had to be a third-party force involved. Then… who was this third-party force? From their standpoint, on what basis had they destroyed the Large Magellanic Cloud?

It had to be understood that the causal relationship created by a first type causal weapon was absolutely reasonable. In other words, this third-party force did not know that such a causal weapon existed in the depths of the universe. Nor did they know that their actions were actually being subtly manipulated. In the eyes of this third-party force, everything happened naturally. There was no such thing as being manipulated. They wanted to destroy this galaxy, so they destroyed this galaxy. If soone said they were being manipulated into destroying this galaxy, the first to jump out and refute it would be them.

And that was indeed the case. If soone told Xiao Yu that Xiao Yu had destroyed the Large Magellanic Cloud because he had been manipulated, Xiao Yu would certainly shake his head in disdain and laugh at them.

But there was one point that could be confird no matter what reason this third-party force had for destroying the Large Magellanic Cloud, and that was that this third-party force possessed technological strength surpassing their Dark Star Civilization. For a Level 7 Civilization, the distance of more than three million light years from the Triangulum Galaxy to the Large Magellanic Cloud was not too far. And so near to them, there existed a Level 7, or perhaps higher civilization with such overwhelming strength. How could this not cause them anxiety?

The several scientists and the leader present could all fully understand the aning in this scientist’s words without any difficulty. After he spoke, they all fell silent. After a while, the leader shook his head and said, “I do not think this needs to make us worried. The power of the philosophical weapon has already been proven. If that unknown third-party force really exists, if it really cos here to cause us trouble, then we can also completely eliminate them through the philosophical weapon.”

That scientist sowhat worriedly continued, “I always feel that philosophical weapons cannot be activated casually and without any price. Otherwise, all advanced civilizations should devote themselves entirely to developing philosophical weapons and abandon every other developntal path. There must be so kind of limitation or so kind of cost to philosophical weapons, and this cost may be quite great. Only then would they have to painfully give up developing philosophical weapons.”

“The most likely thing is the rejection of the main universe itself, or the rejection of the Guardian of the Way that we have only speculated about. Causality is the cornerstone of the existence of our main universe. Destroying causality is a challenge to the Rules. The Guardian of the Way certainly would not tolerate such a thing happening. The rejection of the main universe itself may still be sowhat vague and elusive, but the Guardian of the Way is sothing that truly exists. It was precisely for this reason that I had so strongly opposed carrying out experints related to philosophical weapons in the first place…”

“There is actually an even simpler line of reasoning. If this philosophical weapon were really powerful enough, then why would its previous owner abandon it? Do not say that the previous owner died. If this philosophical weapon were truly powerful enough, then how could its previous owner have died? There is also another question. The existence of philosophical weapons is certainly not unique. Sowhere in this universe, there must also exist a second, or even a third philosophical weapon. Then, when the commands issued by these multiple philosophical weapons are not consistent, which philosophical weapon’s command will ultimately take effect?”

“For example, if I have a philosophical weapon and I command it to make this spaceship remain in place, and you also have a philosophical weapon and you command it to make this spaceship move left, while at the sa ti a third party has a third philosophical weapon and commands this spaceship to move right, then how would these three conflicting orders ultimately be executed? This spaceship cannot possibly both remain in place and at the sa ti move left and right, can it?”

“Or perhaps there is also sothing called power output asuring the might of a philosophical weapon, and the command of the philosophical weapon with the greatest power output ultimately takes effect? But then that would imply another problem, naly that even a philosophical weapon has the possibility of ultimate failure. It is not omnipotent.”

After saying all this in one breath, the scientist paused to catch his breath, then continued, “For so reason, I always have a bad premonition. I have always felt that using the philosophical weapon was a major mistake we made.”

His words prompted the several high-level mbers of civilization attending the eting to think. After a while, the leader said lightly, “In any case, we have already used it… Whatever consequences there may be, we will talk about them later. But I agree with your suggestion that unless it is absolutely necessary, we should avoid using the philosophical weapon as much as possible. In the future, unless it is at a critical mont of life and death for the civilization, we will not use the philosophical weapon…”

This scientist had just wanted to continue saying sothing when suddenly, within this conference room guarded layer upon layer, an unusual change occurred. Under the shocked gazes of the few of them, a sowhat illusory shadow suddenly appeared inside the conference room.

It had to be known that this conference room had been built with the highest technology of a Level 7 Civilization into the safest conference room possible. Even if faced with a supernova explosion, this conference room could remain unhard. Yet at this mont, such a thing had suddenly appeared here.

Before the leader could issue the order to summon the guards, this sowhat illusory shadow spoke. The language it used was, unexpectedly, pure Dark Star Civilization language.

“Do not be alard, leaders of the Dark Star Civilization. I co from the Rebel Alliance… I bear you no ill will…”

“That is right, what we rebel against is the Guardian of the Way of this universe…”

“Yes, it was indeed our alliance that appointed you as the Guardian Civilization back then… The fact that you were not judged by the Guardian of the Way and smoothly beca a Level 7 Civilization was also the result of our secret interference. We had originally wanted to remain hidden in the shadows and quietly watch your developnt, but since you used the philosophical weapon, we had no choice but to show ourselves.”

“Leaders of the Dark Star Civilization, the following matters must be carried out by you. Otherwise, what awaits you will be the tragic extermination of your civilization. You must leave here imdiately and head to Feiyuan Galaxy in the Virgo Cluster. There, eliminate your sworn enemy, the Divine Ark Civilization, or rather, eliminate Xiao Yu…”

“The Guardian of the Way has already noticed you. The punishnt chanism has already been activated. The Divine Ark Civilization, or rather Xiao Yu, is the chess piece it is using to eliminate you. We have already made so arrangents in Feiyuan Galaxy, and those arrangents will help you survive this calamity.”

“All right, carry these things out as quickly as possible. Every mont of delay ans another mont of danger for your civilization.” This illusory shadow spoke quietly, its voice full of an ethereal quality. “If you can pass this test, then allowing you to join our Rebel Alliance would not be impossible… It must be known that in the current universe, civilizations with the potential to develop into war-related Level 7 Civilizations are truly becoming fewer and fewer…”

This shadow had appeared so abruptly, and after saying these words, it disappeared just as abruptly. No one knew how it had co, nor how it had gone.

The leader of the Dark Star Civilization, as well as the several scientists, looked at each other in dismay, unable for a mont to even react.
