Nyx, Alma, and Fran had more banter than they imagined, and would constantly talk about every little thing, making things noisier than they should have been.
After all, they quickly ca to discover they weren't alone in these sewer swamps…
"Well, let's keep moving then, I can tell where we need to go so-"
SPLASH!
As Nyx was speaking, however, sothing jumped off the swamp sewer water right next to them. a huge silhouette of over three ters of height.
It had large arms and legs, and a massive head with giant eyes glaring at them, which were completely red.
A sack beneath its throat was constantly inflating as the giant creature released a familiar, yet corrupted, loud, and monstrous sound…
"RIBBIT…!"
The girls gasped, stepping back… Well, mostly Alma and Fran, who were terrified by the thing. However, Nyx smiled as she stood there, glancing at the huge thing without any hint of fear in her eyes.
"A huge frog?!" The three girls said at the sa ti, Alma was disgusted, Fran was afraid, and Nyx scread because she was amazed by the huge frog just showing up, she found it cool.
The huge frog was indeed huge, surpassing three ters of height, with a slimy green skin covered with black patches, and two big red eyes… and a third purple eye in between those two, alongside tiny black horns.
This thing was no normal giant frog, if they were normal to begin with! No, this thing was clearly corrupted or sothing, Nyx could feel Nightmare Miasma within it.
"Calm down! This is probably a Nightmare Beast, they're like monsters, and aren't as strong as real Nightmares or the Nightmare Demons," explained Nyx. "And there's-"
"RIBBIT!"
The giant frog didn't wait for her to even finish her sentence before it opened its big mouth and a huge, muscular tongue reached Nyx, wrapping itself around her body and then pulling her inside of its mouth.
"GULP…"
"…"
"…"
Fran and Alma glanced at the scene in disbelief, Nyx was swallowed like nothing, completely gone, reduced to food for the big frog!
"S-She got eaten?!" Alma scread.
"Noooo! Nyyyyx!" Fran cried.
As the girls panicked, they realized the Snowman and the Snowdragon stepped forward. The Frog was about to fight them but…
"GUGH…?!"
It made so weird sounds before a huge axe pierced his stomach, and Nyx's head erged from a hole made from the inside out of the frog's stomach!
"Hey! I'm not dead, calm down…"
"EEEH?!"
However, this created the opposite reaction, Fran and Alma panicked to the extent they scread even loudly, it was just creepy overall!
The pain caused by the wound made the giant frog groan in agony, vomiting Nyx before she could tear her way out of its punctured stomach.
SPLASH!
The little dragon girl fell into the sewer swamp water, which was slly, and she got really angry about that, erging from it and then…
"Take this!"
BAAM! BAAM! BAAM!
With her bare fists, she punched the giant three-and-a-half-ter tall giant frog, breaking its bones and bursting its internal organs until the point the frog's eyes popped out of its skull.
"GEEAAAGH!"
SPLASH!
And then it dropped dead into the swamp water, leaving behind blood everywhere…
"Phew! I'm done…" Nyx walked towards the girl, who recoiled as they stepped back.
"C-Calm down! It's okay, everything is fine…" Nyx sighed.
"But you're slly now, Nyx!" Fran said.
"You stink!" Alma nodded.
"E-Eh? Ah…"
Nyx sniffed herself and she indeed had beco quite stinky.
"Okay I can clean myself, wait a bit."
She quickly covered herself with phantasmal flas, which burned everything she didn't want, the sll disappeared instantly as her body and clothes dried out.
"W-Woah, you washed out with flas?!" Fran asked.
"Yeah my phantom flas can burn anything impure I don't want," explained Nyx. "I can also take ergency showers with it! Nice right?"
"I-I guess so…" Alma nodded. "Well, that big frog… is it really dead?"
"Should be…" Nyx nodded. "Nightmares disappear into black dust and leave a core when they die, but this is a Nightmare Beast! They leave behind their whole body like normal animals. Hm, the soul it had is long gone, swallowed by the Nightmare Realm to create more Nightmares maybe."
"I see…" Alma nodded. "I-It's really quite intriguing… Hmm."
Despite her age, Alma was quite the smart girl, very smart at that, and she easily understood how these things worked.
"Uh… I don't get it…" However, Fran was a bit clueless, unlike Alma, and just didn't have enough attention span. "But I really hope we don't get to fight more of these…"
"Unfortunately, I think that's not possible anymore…" Nyx smiled lightly. "Heh."
"Huh?"
SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH!
Out of nowhere, several more creatures jumped out of the swamp water, attracted by the loud screams of the girls and also the scent of blood left behind by the dead giant frog.
They were four more of the sa frogs as we before, and also three… fish. They were like catfish, but had four legs to walk around, and were as huge as the frogs.
"GLUOP! GLUOP!"
The Giant Walking Catfishes ran towards the girls the mont they spotted them, while the frogs remained more still for a mont, but quickly sent their tongues to capture them and swallow them whole.
"Snowman, Snowdragon, Phantom Dragons, it's ti! Charge!"
Nyx summoned her Dream Weapon, the Axe her mother had made for her, and quickly leaped into action, slicing apart the frog's tongues while the Snowman and the Snowdragon attacked the others.
"Go for it, dad!" Fran said, as she cheered for the snowman, giving it strength.
The Snowman grew large, muscular-like snow-made arms, and smashed the heads of the catfishes running at him, blowing their eyes out of their faces.
BAAM! BAAM! BAAM!
At the sa ti, the Snowdragon opened its jaws, releasing a freezing breath that slowed down the monsters or outright froze them completely.
FLUOOOSH!
As this happened, Alma and Fran remained behind the battles, looking rather worried.
And completely unaware of the small group of giant rats sneaking behind them from the other adjacent corridor…
