"The so-called Five Elents Items are things used by so alchemists or martial artists after they have comprehended certain Five Elents Law. In my early years, I was fortunate enough to absorb a portion of the Water Spirit, hence my cauldron is called the Five Elents Water Cauldron, and it is also one of the Five Elents Items," said Ye Wuming, his voice faltering.
His spiritual power was getting weaker and weaker, and it seed that he could not hold on much longer.
"Listen...young one...when I failed in artifact refining...the Five Elents Water Cauldron was also destroyed...the fragnts were lost in the Yunng Swamp, I will use my last bit of spiritual power to condense into the Five Spirits Jade Engraving, allowing you to comprehend the Five Elents Law, and perhaps one day it can help you find the fragnts of the Five Elents Water Cauldron." Ye Wuming’s thread of spiritual power had been in existence for over three hundred years and was already waning.
"...If one day you are fortunate enough to beco a Fang Venerate... rember to restore the good na of the Grand Ancestor, my arch-enemy who frad was called Chen Hongru," Ye Wuming’s voice gradually faded.
"Grand Ancestor, please clarify more." Before Ye Lingyue could ask for details, the Grand Ancestor’s spiritual power completely dissipated.
After Ye Wuming disappeared, a jade carving showed up on the ground.
It seed that it was the Five Spirits Jade Engraving condensed by Ye Wuming’s last bit of spiritual power.
Just as Ye Lingyue was about to carefully examine the jade carving she held, the Qian Cauldron in her hand made a "puff" sound and swallowed the jade carving.
In Ye Lingyue’s mind, explanations about the Five Elents Spirit, Five Elents Power, and Five Elents Items erged. Additionally, the Five Elents Jade Engraving also recorded that obtaining the Five Elents Power is also greatly beneficial to a martial artist’s cultivation.
The Fire Spirit helps to enhance attack power, the Water Spirit improves self-healing power, the Earth Spirit enhances defense power, the Wood Spirit aids in the extension of lifespan, and the Golden Spirit is beneficial for the toughness of bones.
Apparently, the Five Elents Water Cauldron directly refined and absorbed the Five Spirits Jade Engraving, and Ye Lingyue was unaware that the changes brought about by the Five Spirits Jade Engraving were not just these.
At this mont, her mind was fully occupied with the words spoken by the Grand Ancestor before he disappeared.
Ye Lingyue had only clearly heard two nas, one being Yunng Swamp, and the other seed to be a person’s na, called Chen Hongru.
The last words about Chen Hongru, his great enemy, were unfamiliar.
Ye Lingyue had never heard of him; perhaps the other party was also a prominent figure in spiritual power, at least at the Fang Venerate level.
However, Ye Lingyue thought again, Ancestor Wu Ming had already been dead for over three hundred years.
That Chen Hongru, unless he had special abilities, had otherwise beco an old demon.
If Chen Hongru really hadn’t died, as Ye Wuming, who was once the number one alchemist in Daxia, wasn’t Chen Hongru’s opponent, let alone Ye Lingyue, who was only a little alchemist.
However, hearing the na Yunng Swamp made Ye Lingyue sowhat alert.
Last ti, inside the Drunk Immortal Inn, she and An Minxia and others had made a bet to brew the Five Treasures Brew, where the most critical wine yeast required, the Ghost Lady Swamp Spider, was found in the Yunng Swamp.
Counting the days, in two more days, it would be the day when she, along with Feng Xun and Lan Cai’er, would depart for Yunng Swamp.
With that said, Ye Lingyue planned to look for the Ghost Lady Swamp Spider while also searching for the fragnts of the Five Elents Water Cauldron during her trip to Yunng Swamp.
Having made up her mind, Ye Lingyue began to prepare for the trip to Yunng Swamp in a few days.
Before entering Yunng Swamp, Ye Lingyue specifically flipped through the latest edition of "Daxia Chronicles" to check out the conditions of Yunng Swamp, which is a swamp area.
It is located downstream of Lishui River, and the entrance is covered by reeds over two ters tall. In early autumn and sumr, a large number of water birds breed in that area.
After passing through the reeds, there is a log bridge. Walking further across the log bridge leads one directly into Yunng Swamp.
However, due to the unique environnt in Yunng Swamp, it boasts many dicinal plants rarely found elsewhere on the mainland, thus attracting nurous Spiritual Beasts.
On the day heading to Yunng Swamp, Ye Lingyue arrived early at Drunk Immortal Inn—Lan Cai’er was already waiting there.
"Ling Yue, congratulations! I heard from my father that you won the first place in the Refining Conference. I didn’t expect you to be such an impressive Alchemist," Lan Cai’er said, clapping Ye Lingyue’s shoulder heartily.
"It was just luck, Sister Lan. Regarding Yunng Swamp, what do you know?" Ye Lingyue believed that with Lan Cai’er’s extensive connections, she could surely uncover much that Ye Lingyue was unaware of.
"I was just about to discuss this with you, I’ve managed to collect so secrets about Yunng Swamp," Lan Cai’er said, taking out so docuntary material.
These were firsthand materials collected locally by Lan Cai’er using Governor Lan’s influence.
Among them was the main prey of Ye Lingyue and the others’ journey to Yunng Swamp—the Ghost Lady Swamp Spider.
The Ghost Lady Swamp Spider lives under the marsh’s mud in Yunng Swamp.
It is naturally afraid of heat, so it does not show itself during the day and only erges from under the swamp at night.
The Ghost Lady Swamp Spider is a Third Rank Spiritual Beast, capable of spitting spider silk comparable to steel, and its climbing speed is extrely fast, giving it a natural advantage in the swamp.
The core of the Ghost Lady Swamp Spider is needed for brewing the Five Treasures Brew; however, not every Ghost Lady Swamp Spider has a core, which ans Ye Lingyue and her team would need to kill several to possibly obtain the cores needed for brewing the Five Treasures Brew.
Additionally, what surprised Ye Lingyue about Yunng Swamp was a local legend, never recorded in "Daxia Chronicles," suggesting that a Phoenix might exist in Yunng Swamp.
Soti long ago, at the transition between sumr and autumn, the Divine Phoenix would appear in Yunng Swamp to incubate its offspring. When the Phoenix appeared, a multicolored Phoenix Auspicious Light would erge in the depths of the sky above Yunng Swamp.
Once entering the Phoenix Auspicious Light, both beasts and humans would forever lose their sense of direction and be trapped in Yunng Swamp until the Phoenix departed.
"Did you also see the rumors about the Phoenix? I think that’s just a fisherman’s tale from Lishui area to scare people, at least in the past few centuries, no one has ever encountered a real Phoenix in Yunng Swamp," Lan Cai’er remarked skeptically, knowing that Divine Beasts aren’t easily encountered.
However, after reviewing the information about Yunng Swamp gathered by Lan Cai’er, Ye Lingyue’s understanding of Yunng Swamp deepened a level.
At this mont, Lan Cai’er also noticed that Ye Lingyue, on this trip, had brought along two little companions—one was Little Zhiyo on Ye Lingyue’s shoulder, and the other was Dahuang.
It turned out that Ye Lingyue, seeing these two little guys always cooped up in Hong ng Heaven, feared they might develop issues from confinent, so she decided to take them for an exploration of Yunng Swamp.
Lan Cai’er, being an expert herself, observed Dahuang and couldn’t help but inwardly praise, "What a fierce canine, judging by its build and fur, it must be so descendent of a Spirit Wolf and hunting dog, having it lead the way in Yunng Swamp will be of great help."
Bringing Dahuang, Lan Cai’er was entirely in favor with both hands and feet raised in agreent.
However, Ye Lingyue, with that fluffy little fellow on her shoulder, what is that for? Is it just brought to look cute?
