"Long Hui." Long Hui simply nodded, his greeting short, calm, and naturally commanding, carrying the unmistakable weight of his military background.
Truthfully, Lou Weizhe was genuinely surprised the very mont he laid eyes on Long Hui. It was exactly the sa strange and overwhelming feeling he had experienced when he first t Yu Qi.
He could clearly sense that Long Hui was also an extrely powerful individual, perhaps soone whose hidden aura felt even stronger and more dangerous than Yu Qi herself. These two people were definitely far from ordinary, and their presence alone made him feel a subtle sense of caution.
"We will probably need to spend at least one night over there. However, Mr Lou, you don’t need to worry about the accommodation or any logistics. We have already booked a hotel nearby." Yu Qi explained, naturally breaking the brief silence that had settled between them.
"I see. Then I shall simply follow your arrangents." Lou Weizhe nodded readily in agreent, feeling relieved that he didn’t have to handle those details.
After that brief eting, the three of them departed for Shiwa Town together in Yu Qi’s car. Approximately three hours of steady, uninterrupted driving later, they finally arrived within the borders of Shiwa Town. Yu Qi then inford Lou Weizhe that they still needed to drive another full hour deeper into the countryside before finally reaching Ma Chunwei’s isolated rural house.
Eventually, the car slowly rolled to a stop as they finally arrived at Ma Chunwei’s dark, isolated rural house. Judging from the current abandoned and heavily decaying condition of the place, it seed that the police had already completely finished their forensic investigation and left the area quite so ti ago. Even the bright yellow warning tape that had once surrounded the periter of the property had already been removed, allowing nature to slowly reclaim the dirt yard.
"We have arrived. This is the exact place where Ma Chunwei originally summoned the demon." Yu Qi pointed calmly toward the old, dark house standing silently before them like a grim monunt.
Lou Weizhe frowned deeply the instant his eyes landed on the structure. A thick, oppressive, and thoroughly unpleasant energy surrounded the entire property like a heavy layer of dark, stagnant fog. Ordinary people naturally would not be able to see anything unusual with their naked eyes, but as soone who actively practised Taoism and spiritual cultivation, Lou Weizhe could clearly sense and even vaguely see the dark, malicious energy lingering heavily around the area, threatening to choke anyone who stepped too close.
"Qi Qi, are you absolutely sure this is the correct place?" Long Hui asked while staring at the run-down, rotting house in visible disbelief.
Long Hui genuinely found it difficult to comprehend how soone could willingly choose to live in such a terrible, decaying, and miserable environnt.
"Before Ma Chunwei died, this house actually looked fairly decent and normal. However, the mont he suddenly dropped dead, the entire house instantly decayed into this terrifying state. I was also extrely surprised by the sudden, unnatural transformation at that ti." Yu Qi explained while recalling the details of her previous visit.
"He must have been using his dark spiritual power to forcefully maintain the physical condition of the house while he was still alive." Lou Weizhe comnted thoughtfully while stepping a bit closer to inspect the old, weathered threshold.
"Yeah. I thought so too. Once his life force disappeared, the illusion imdiately fell apart, revealing the true rot underneath." Yu Qi nodded, agreeing with Lou Weizhe’s conclusion.
"Let’s go inside and look around first. This place is not suitable for a long stay. Once we find what we are looking for, we should leave imdiately." Long Hui stated seriously, his protective instincts on high alert as he surveyed the periter.
Lou Weizhe and Yu Qi both nodded in silent agreent before the three of them carefully entered the house together. The mont Long Hui reached out, grabbed the rusty doorknob, and tried to turn it, the old knob suddenly snapped off directly in his large hand.
"It has already decayed badly. Let’s be more careful and gentle with everything we touch." Yu Qi reminded them in a hushed tone.
After entering the dim house, the three of them imdiately began looking around the place separately to cover more ground. Lou Weizhe eventually ca across the room where Chang Shunchun had supposedly stayed before his arrest. Surprisingly, compared to the rest of the ruined house, this specific room was actually in fairly good condition, almost as if it had been shielded from the rapid decay.
anwhile, Yu Qi walked directly into the room where Ma Chunwei had supposedly summoned the demon. It was a very large, shadowy room, yet there was absolutely nothing inside it at all. No furniture, no curtains, no decorations. Most likely, the room had specifically been left completely empty for ritualistic purposes.
"Qi Qi, look down." Long Hui suddenly said, his deep voice slicing through the silence.
Yu Qi followed Long Hui’s instruction and lowered her gaze toward the dusty floorboards. Only then did she notice a massive, intricate circle carved deeply into the wooden floorboards, along with countless strange, unfamiliar, and ominous symbols written around its borders.
This was most likely the summoning circle used to call forth the demon that Aoi had fought. Other than that strange, dark formation, there was nothing else visible inside the room.
Yu Qi slowly closed her eyes for a mont, gathering her internal energy, before opening them once again. A faint, ethereal golden glow suddenly appeared within her pupils as she carefully scanned the empty room once more with her enhanced vision. This ti, her extra effort was not wasted.
