"Braxton!" Jack shouted.

Braxton, still in a state of excitent, was suddenly pulled from the back of the truck by Jack. Zoe holstered her gun, pressed herself against the front tire, and expertly curled up. Almost simultaneously, Reacher slamd on the detonator.

"Boom!" A deafening explosion.

Debris flew everywhere, the pickup truck shook violently, and then a series of clanging sounds filled the air, accompanied by the deflating tires and shattering windows.

"Thanks!" Braxton changed to a new magazine, and only after things quieted down did he peek out.

The unloading area was a ss after the explosion; the front sections of three container trucks were blown to pieces.

Apart from a few bodies lying nearby, the militants who had been attempting a counterattack had all fled into the factory.

"Suppression successful. You can enter now," Jack's voice ca through the comms again.

Amidst the deafening screeching of tires, Finlay made a dazzling entrance in his GMC. The ear-piercing sound even made Jack wonder if the guy was too excited and forgot to release the handbrake; the two police cars behind him weren't nearly as loud.

The unloading area connected to the northeast entrance of the factory. With the Barrett blocking the way, there wasn't a soul in sight near the entrance.

Behind the seemingly massive, heavy iron gate lay a body; soone had tried to use it as cover to fire, only to have half their shoulder blown off by Hannah's armor-piercing round.

After that, no one dared approach that entrance.

The southwest entrance wasn't much better. While the HK417 sniper rifle's 7.62x51mm NATO rounds weren't as brutal as the Barrett's, they had less recoil and a higher rate of fire.

After Chris emptied three magazines from 300 ters away, the entrance remained silent.

As the surrounding gunfire instantly ceased, Jack and Zoe each threw a smoke grenade into the iron gate. Using the smoke as cover, two police cars carefully maneuvered around the scattered debris, forming a V-shape to block the entrance.

Roscoe and Stevenson hurriedly got out of their car and ran to Finlay's GMC to help unload the cargo.

Opening the trunk of the GMC, they found two axial flow fans used for ranch ventilation — they had retrieved them from the cattle pen during the earlier firefight.

"We'll provide cover. You guys get ready. Chris and Hannah, change firing positions."

Jack had been worried about Kleiner's VSS. Although both sniper rifles were silenced and the distance was too great to be easily detected, it was always better to be cautious.

After saying this, he and Zoe, using the two police cars as cover, emptied a magazine inside. This silenced the last trace of disturbance in the factory.

The rest of the group got to work, helping to unload the fans. Reacher and Braxton went around to the other end to block the door, while the other three pulled wires, turned on the fans, and lit them to create smoke, busy as bees.

Based on the number of corpses on their side and Chris's report, Jack estimated that at most five or six ard n had escaped into the factory. Adding the few who hadn't co out, the South Arican rcenaries and Kleiner's henchn wouldn't exceed ten in total.

Now it was ti to smoke the rats out. As the axial flow fans started, smoke began to pour into the factory. Soone inside sensed sothing was wrong and fired a few shots haphazardly.

However, while the smoke obscured their vision, it didn't an Jack, with his system attribute boost, couldn't spot the muzzle flash. He fired a burst, and with a scream, the factory fell silent again.

As more and more smoke poured into the factory, so inside began to cough, unable to bear it any longer. Seeing the ti was right, Jack waved to Finlay and the other two, signaling that they could begin.

Finlay had already taken off his tweed suit, revealing only an old undershirt underneath, covered by a bulletproof vest, his shirt bare — a stark contrast to his previous serious Boston deanor.

"Listen up, you inside! I'm Detective Finlay from the Margrave Police Departnt. You're surrounded. This is a joint operation against Kleiner Industries. Lay down your weapons and surrender."

Before the guy could finish speaking, Roscoe snatched the gaphone from him, adding an eye roll.

"I am Roscoe Conklin. People in Margrave should all have heard of my family. Like most of you, our families were the first to arrive on this land and build this town."

"Not so Tiller family, and certainly not that Kleiner. This town has over 200 years of history."

"I swear, if you lay down your weapons and co out, you will receive a fair trial. Your families and children will be taken care of. There's no need to risk your lives for those butchers!"

Before Roscoe could finish, Stevenson also picked up a gaphone.

"I am a son of the Stevenson family, and I assure you, throw down your weapons and co out. There's no need to die alongside that fat pig Tiller for the Kleiner family. He's the one who killed forr Chief Conklin."

This was the correct way to persuade them to surrender; Jack almost gave them a thumbs up.

Sure enough, not long after, a labored shout ca from near the door.

"Turn off that thing... We're out, don't shoot."

Finlay quickly ran to the side and pulled the power to the blower, while the others raised their guns and aid, to prevent anyone from taking advantage of the chaos.

The thick smoke at the door gradually dissipated, revealing a group of workers inside, their mouths and noses covered, their faces covered in soot. They were all unard, pushing and shoving their way out. Roscoe and Stevenson quickly stepped forward and leaned against the door, trying to evacuate them as quickly as possible.

"Quick, quick, quick! Get out of here, hide under that crane over there, don't run around!"

"There are snipers watching you, don't have any other ideas!"

Just as the last few people had barely run out of the doorway, an extrely faint gunshot suddenly rang out, accompanied by young Kleiner's ghostly howl.

"Die! Die, all of you! You sons of bitches, you've all been paid!"

The last worker was shot in the calf, collapsing to the ground with a groan. Zoe, beside Jack, imdiately pulled the trigger, firing several bursts to cover Roscoe as she dragged him away from the doorway.

Jack took two steps back, then took a running start, throwing a stun grenade in a slightly straight arc into the factory.

"Bang!"

With a violent flash and explosion, the factory fell silent.

"Go!"

Without hesitation, Jack charged into the factory.
