Now reading: Chapter 244 244: 244-Addition from Reborn: The Rookie Detective, a Action novel by jackrose.

Travis Air Force Base is located in Fairfield, California, northeast of San Francisco, and is the headquarters of the 60th Air Mobility Wing.

This wing's main function is airlift and aerial refueling, equipped with C-5, C-17, and KC-10 aerial refueling aircraft. So when Jack disembarked, all he saw were behemoths.

Compared to these strategic transport aircraft, their C-130 was like a rhinoceros standing next to elephants, utterly insignificant.

"I could stand here all day looking at these fascinating engineering marvels and not get bored." Jack remarked.

"Co on, I won't make things difficult for you," JJ said, giving him a shove. His expression changed when he heard that many people had co to welco them ho.

Anyone who didn't know better would think he was socially awkward, but only JJ knew that this guy was genuinely a coward.

Too many girls had gotten involved with him, and knowing he had survived a plane crash and a battle with a terrorist organization, they all rushed to pick him up.

Before boarding the plane, JJ had been observing coldly as this guy tried every trick in the book, making countless phone calls and promises to appease the two mature won.

However, in the end, it was a classic case of "the king ets the king." While he could coax anyone back and appease them later, his official girlfriend, Hannah, was definitely coming, and Jack couldn't find a single excuse.

The two didn't bring much when they disembarked. JJ's suitcase was left on the island, and her pretty dresses were gone. Jack had only brought a travel bag, which he discarded when he was admitted to the hospital due to quarantine requirents.

Theoretically, they should have returned empty-handed, but Jack ended up with two extra suitcases.

This was the advantage of returning on a military plane; he brought back the entire set of equipnt the SEALs had given him, including a rifle with a scope and a pistol with a special design.

Jack also casually brought along an assault rifle he had captured and an AK-47 that Gaspare had, which appeared to be an original from an earlier era.

Both guns held sentintal value for him, especially the forr.

A soldier from the base drove them out the gate in a Humvee, where Rossi and Hannah were already waiting.

Jack steeled himself and went to greet them, only to be clung to tightly by Hannah. The naive girl had been living in fear for days, and upon seeing him, she couldn't stop crying.

This was the first ti Jack had ever seen his sweetheart cry like this, and he couldn't suppress his guilt.

Fortunately, Hannah knew the situation was inappropriate and quickly released her emotions, wiping away her tears before stepping aside.

"Thank you, David."

Seeing Rossi's exhausted face, Jack's gratitude was genuine and heartfelt.

"There's no other way. I have to get them to bring you back as soon as possible, otherwise I'm worried you'll take out all the militants on the island by yourself, and the CIA won't let you off the hook." Rossi made a not-so-funny joke.

The atmosphere on the way back was sowhat awkward. When they ca to pick up Jack, Hannah had driven Rossi.

On the way back, Jack drove, with Rossi still in the passenger seat. They chatted occasionally, mainly about the events of the past few days. The two girls sat quietly in the back.

The sniper case in Des Plaines had just been solved, with Reid playing a crucial role. The perpetrator was a "heroic killer" whose motive was to injure the victims and then appear to save them.

After the killer was finally identified through psychological profiling, a dramatic ending occurred: Hotchner and Reid, to prevent the killer from wreaking havoc in the hospital, confronted him.

Jack's persistent shooting training for Reid paid off; the killer's arrogant and conceited nature led him to underestimate the seemingly weak Reid.

Hotchner, playing along with the killer's personality, pretended to be a scapegoat, a similarly unappreciated and marginalized individual, and feigned a final act of rage before death, violently assaulting Reid, thus giving him the spare gun hidden in his ankle.

Reid accurately shot the killer in the forehead, achieving his first kill of his career.

Hotchner, Reid, and Emily are currently on their way back to Los Angeles. While working hard to solve the case, they are also keeping a close eye on Jack and JJ's situation, eager to get back as soon as possible.

The drive from the Air Force base back to Los Angeles is quite long, taking nearly six hours. By the ti they dropped Rossi off at the door of the large house in Beverly Hills, it was already late at night.

Along the way, Rossi had already sensed the tension between the two girls in the back seat. When he got out of the car to say goodbye, the old man winked mischievously at Jack and silently mouthed "take care."

After Rossi got out of the car, Jack, now without his shield, was even more tornted, his back almost soaked in cold sweat.

"Uh, who should I take ho first?" he asked tentatively.

"Your house!" the two girls said in unison, making him shudder. Although he was mostly pretending, he was genuinely worried, mainly because if they started fighting, and he didn't help JJ, Hannah would probably kill her instantly.

If he dared to help JJ, well, he could only hope Hannah didn't shoot herself in the head; any other injuries could be healed.

The girls weren't going to his house to fight, of course. They left a bewildered Jack and two suitcases at his doorstep, and Hannah floored the gas pedal, speeding away with JJ.

What happened to them afterward is unknown, but the next day, Hannah was back at his door as usual, freeloading. Jack was so startled that he secretly called JJ to make sure she hadn't been murdered.

After that, no matter how Jack tried to subtly probe the two, he couldn't get any information out of them. It seed like nothing had happened, but sothing felt different.

Jack wasn't one to worry unnecessarily. Since nothing serious had happened, and the girls hadn't completely rejected him, he temporarily suppressed his curiosity, planning to find another opportunity to inquire later.

The ergency landing caused quite a stir worldwide. Pioneer Airlines spent a lot of money and signed strict confidentiality agreents with the surviving passengers.

The FBI also intervened to ensure the identities of their two agents were not leaked. Fortunately, the passengers on board were unaware of Jack and JJ's true identities; it was simply that the two captains and flight attendants signed a few extra confidential docunts.

For a while afterward, Pioneer Airlines released so half-truths and fabricated accounts of the incident in the dia, and the captain suddenly beca a national hero.

Hmm, a Scotsman who doesn't consider himself British becoming a national hero in Arica — it's strange, but it seems quite reasonable.
