The private jet takes over two hours to fly from Los Angeles to Great Falls, but Rossi wasn't having a good day, losing two rounds in a row. He pushed his cards aside, stood up, and gave Reid his seat.
"Can soone tell why the report says the killer had a fully loaded gun but didn't fight back, instead detonating a grenade?"
Hotchner played a pair of tiles, picked up his coffee, and took a sip.
As a good husband, he helped his wife care for their newborn son every night, and during the day he was usually exhausted, hence his coffee.
"Because he wanted to make a na for himself, to be rembered, and to take a few cops down with him. There are many mbers of militia groups like in Montana."
"They're keen on promoting rebellion, hate the federal governnt, and will actively join the military to gain experience. After retiring, they start stockpiling weapons and establishing various so-called anti-governnt military organizations."
Clearly, Hotchner had considerable experience dealing with these guys.
Upon hearing him ntion militia organizations, the expressions of everyone present turned grim.
In the 1960s, so movents and ideologies resurfaced in the US. Not only were certain groups dissatisfied with the country, but many others also joined the fray, advocating for resistance against governnt overreach.
Thus, in the 1970s, the "militia" movent made a coback. These spontaneously organized "militia" groups evoked complex feelings among Aricans.
This was because, as long as these organizations didn't actually cause trouble and rely chanted slogans, they weren't breaking the law, and most even maintained good relations with local governnts.
However, in the 1990s, these "militia" organizations caused a series of major incidents in the US.
Later, there were the infamous Waco massacre and the resulting Oklahoma City bombing, all closely linked to militia groups.
These incidents deeply troubled the FBI agents present, who found themselves dealing with these individuals who were either involved in cults or had so degree of ntal instability.
"Have the local police send Garcia the killer's dental records and other forensic evidence. We need to confirm the victim's identity, especially his military service." Rossi said to JJ, who imdiately picked up the phone to make the contact.
"After landing, I'll go to the explosion site first and get acquainted with the local police." Hotchner pushed his tiles aside, indicating he had won.
"Jack and JJ, go to the kidnapping site and see if you can talk to the victim's husband."
The plane began its slow descent, and everyone started clearing the cards from the table.
"The rest of you, once we arrive, set up a temporary office and guide the local police in their search using Dr. Reid's map. Be prepared, we won't be very welco."
Just as they landed, Garcia called. It seed things were going well for her. Jack quickly stopped, gestured for everyone to stop, and turned on the speakerphone.
"Hey, baby, those little toys you gave are so cute. I'll pamper them every night before bed."
Garcia's suggestive talk left Jack speechless. What was all this about? Did this woman never speak properly without using so suggestive language?
"You an those figurines you brought ho couldn't fit on the table? No problem, I'll make you a bigger one next ti, I guarantee you'll love them so much you won't want to go to sleep without touching them a few tis every night."
Jack retorted, the two girls beside him were fine, but the always-stern Hotchner glared at him.
"Get to the point, Garcia, I won't interfere with your conversation after the case is over."
"Yes, boss, Francis Goring, 42 years old, served a year in the military, was discharged for serious misconduct, the most serious being his arrest for causing trouble in a bar."
"He caused three people to be seriously injured and hospitalized, and the federal database also has his information because he joined, uh… radical militia."
"Radical militia?!" JJ repeated the words word by word, with an expression that said, "You guys hit the nail on the head."
