Now reading: Chapter 56 56: 56-The deal from Reborn: The Rookie Detective, a Action novel by jackrose.

"Give your and Justin's dical records, including your desensitization treatnt. I need to do so preparatory work, starting with you in three months.

Of course, all of this must be on one condition: you and Justin must strictly adhere to this. This matter is limited to the three of us and must not be known to a fourth person, including your closest relatives.

No matter how much your or Justin's condition improves, you can make up your own reasons. Absolutely no revealing my existence is allowed. I don't like threatening people, but I think you should know that leaking this secret is not good for either of us."

The accountant's gaze stopped shifting, and after staring intently into Jack's eyes for a long ti, he finally nodded expressionlessly.

"No problem. I'll co to Los Angeles to see you next February. If this so-called thod really works, I'll take you to see Justin."

A weight was finally lifted from Jack's heart. He reached for the coins on the table and put them in his pocket.

"Let's go back to the beginning. What do you want to do by contacting ?"

The accountant took a file folder from his desk drawer and gestured for Jack to open it.

"This is a drug trafficking cartel called Marlos Dorados. They plan to expand their market in Los Angeles next year. I have so intelligence indicating that their leader will also be in Los Angeles. You can choose to arrest her or…"

Jack opened the file folder, saw the na and photo on it, and his heart skipped a beat.

"The leader of this cartel you're talking about is this woman, La Fiera?"

He never expected that this accountant would be linked to the "Fla Girl" from *The Rookie*.

This ridiculous plot had frustrated Jack back then.

A transnational drug trafficking cartel that committed countless atrocities in Central Arica, even murdering entire villages, had a female leader nad La Fiera, known as "Fla Girl." In the original series, she sent her son to the University of California, Los Angeles, and incidentally expanded her business to Los Angeles as well.

Because she wasn't wanted in the United States, and there was no evidence at the ti to prove she was involved in drug trafficking there, this notorious drug trafficking leader was treated as an ordinary person and protected by the LAPD in Los Angeles.

Several forr Guatemalan police officers, also survivors of a massacre, attempted to assassinate La Fiera, but were stopped by the protagonist's group. So were captured, so were killed, and one, driven to desperation during the pursuit, committed suicide by jumping off a building.

Ironically, shortly afterward, La Fiera's son died at the hands of a local drug trafficking organization in Los Angeles. Angela, six months pregnant, was kidnapped by La Fiera at her wedding and taken to xico, with the intention of taking her child to raise.

A certain African-Arican man, who hadn't yet appeared in this world, was killed at the wedding. Finally, the LAPD protagonists, who couldn't even carry out cross-state law enforcent, crossed borders to xico to rescue Angela, killed La Fiera, and returned triumphantly.

This kind of ridiculous plot not only blatantly insults the audience's intelligence.

"Did she offend you too?" Jack asked, sowhat puzzled. This accountant was not soone who hated evil. Not to ntion that he was a person who walked the gray area, most people with Asperger's Syndro even lacked a basic sense of right and wrong and were only imrsed in their own completely self-centered world.

"To demonstrate her power to you, she ordered her n to massacre a group of unard villagers, simply because the village refused to grow coca for her drug trafficking ring."

Okay, Jack retracted his guess. It seed this Christian Wolff wasn't part of the chaotic neutral faction, but rather leaned more towards chaotic good.

"Understood. I'll continue to monitor this criminal organization."

His "monitoring" wasn't the kind the accountant expected, but the accountant believed Jack had a mysterious background, while Jack, relying on his knowledge of the plot, his precognitive abilities, and his system skills, agreed without a hint of hesitation.

But thinking about that awful plot, Jack added, "However, the LAPD probably can't do anything until they get solid evidence. We'll have to play it by ear. If necessary, I'll provide you with detailed intelligence, and you'll still be the one to take action."

The accountant expressed understanding: "She's very cautious. She never even flies, only travels by yacht. I can't find a suitable opportunity. If she really shows up in Los Angeles, I don't mind taking her out myself."

Jack scratched the back of his head, a little worried, and reminded him, "Anyway, don't use the Barrett. You've made too much of a fuss this ti. It's best not to use a regular sniper rifle either; that will attract the FBI's attention. In short, we'll play it by ear."

The accountant returned the favor, giving Jack a piece of information: "That idiot Cole had soone try to incite him to attack your two police officer lovers. Luckily, he was not hopelessly stupid."

Jack nodded, trying to appear calm, as if he had expected it, but his heart was far from calm. Sure enough, the plot that wasn't shown in the original series was automatically filled in in this world, but he could roughly guess who the mastermind was.

After signing a series of authorization docunts, Jack flew back to Los Angeles that sa day. He didn't rush ho after landing, going straight to Little Tokyo.

The three-month preparation ti he ntioned was well-considered.

For a psychological issue like Asperger's Syndro, a superficial approach like the massage he used with Hunter wouldn't be enough to provide sufficient psychological suggestion. Therefore, Jack decided to develop a new skill — Shiatsu.

Of course, he wouldn't waste his system coins on Shiatsu. Learning it to the beginner level, mastering the techniques, should be sufficient. What he truly hoped for were magical healing techniques and psychological skills from the system, everything else is a gimmick for hiding the truth.

However, he only had 10 system coins, aning he could only choose one to upgrade. Either he invested all 10 coins in healing techniques to obtain his first master-level skill, or he spent 5 coins to obtain proficient-level psychology.

His initial thought was to prioritize master-level healing techniques, but Jack had no confidence in treating Asperger's Syndro. What if the healing techniques didn't work for him?

Jack had experinted on himself as well. He found that genetic defects, such as moles on the skin, were completely unaffected by treatnts unless the skin was removed and then treated.

But if the problem lay in the brain's nerves, he couldn't very well remove the head. He believed that even a master-level healer capable of limb regeneration couldn't regenerate a severed head.
