Lian Manman and the others had been out for quite so ti; the people in the Upper Room of the old residence were already anxious from waiting. Lian Shouren and Lian Shouyi frequently peeked from the doorway but dared not disrupt the conversation of Lian Manman’s family. Lian Manman listened on the side, feeling speechless. No matter how good Wu Lang was, or how good a doctor he invited, or how good the dicine bought, it was clear they couldn’t cure Old Master Lian’s ailnt. Old Master Lian preferred to sneak around and talk with Lian Shouren instead of "getting better." And when Lian Shouren and Lian Shouyi needed him, Old Master Lian didn’t need dicine or a doctor; he would instantly recover.
It appeared that other diseases in the world can be treated, but favoritism had no cure.
"Grandfather, you truly care for , I know this well. With you like this, it’s natural for us to be filial," Wu Lang said with a smile.
Old Master Lian’s face reddened again, he coughed twice to mask his emotions. As a distraction, he picked up his tea cup to take a sip. Lady Chiang had just brought the hot tea to Wu Lang, so she naturally swapped Old Master Lian’s cold tea with fresh hot tea.
