The sound of the door opening could already be heard from the outside, and Lian Manman knew there was no more ti to waste.

"Rember, this is my na." Shen Liu lifted his phoenix eyes, staring deeply into Manman’s eyes.
Lian Manman hesitated slightly, Shen Liu’s grip still holding her hand without releasing. Hearing the voices of people entering the room from outside, Manman quickly freed her hand from Shen Liu’s clasp, hurried to the door, lifted the curtain, and stepped out.
Once through the curtain, Manman couldn’t help but glance back, seeing that Shen Liu still stood where he was, unmoved.
At this point, Manman knew urging Shen Liu further was useless. Henceforth, all she could do was... take it step by step. She bit her teeth privately, thinking if Shen Liu erged just like that, she would hate him for a lifeti, never forgiving him. With such thoughts, she quickly navigated past the screen and stepped out.
Outside were two servants, two young maidservants, each carrying tea and snacks. The four were all startled upon seeing Manman appear.
"How is there soone?"
"Who are you, how did you get in?"
"No wonder that Cai Xiu said she saw soone sneaking this way..."
The two servants seed to have so skills, showing a guarded stance against Manman, as if facing a formidable enemy. The two young maidservants aware of the bad situation, prepared to retreat.
Manman was quicker; with a lift of her hand, she knocked the tray from the maidservant nearest to her, sending it crashing to the floor.
"What are you standing around for?" Manman exclaid sternly, "Go and fetch your Steward, Sixth Master, Ninth Master, and the Fifth Miss. Is this how the Shen Family treats guests, tricking them into a haunted house and locking them inside?"
Manman, with every right, showed no sign of guilt, and the two maidservants, seemingly ignorant of the details, quietly retreated to the side. The two servants too seed intimidated by Manman.
Manman boldly marched out.
The two servants followed her, blocking Manman.
"Miss, you can’t leave yet."
"On what grounds do you stop ?" Manman questioned.
"... By Sixth Master’s rules, this is the place for dealing with military matters. Trespassers... must be executed without rcy..."
Manman’s eyes narrowed; things were worse than she had imagined. Cai Xiu aid to have her killed, but why? She barely knew her, and had no grievances with anyone in this manor. Maybe she should have let Shen Liu co out earlier, but what would it an for her to hide in Shen Liu’s room?
In such a situation, all she could do was wait for Shen Liu to save her. Shen Liu, co and save her. Manman clenched her left fist. Just monts ago, when parting, Shen Liu had written a word in her palm: "Promise." Shen Liu also told her it was his na.
It was the first ti Manman learned Shen Liu’s na. He... would co to save her, right?
