"Soone’s coming?" Lian Manman imdiately lowered her voice.
Listening to the sounds outside was heading towards this study. So, this should be the final part of Cai Xiu’s sche, having soone find her right in the study.
Lian Manman was very anxious; she couldn’t be discovered here. Shen Liu seed very composed, looking at Lian Manman with a smile on his face, as if he enjoyed watching Lian Manman in her panic.
Shen Liu being like this made Lian Manman quite exasperated. She hadn’t expected Shen Liu to have such a side. But, thinking it through, perhaps it’s not surprising. She had never fantasized about Shen Liu being a gentlemanly, easygoing man.
What to do now? If Shen Liu weren’t here, Lian Manman intended to walk out confidently. But with Shen Liu here, things beca complicated.
"You need to leave quickly." Listening to the footsteps and voices getting closer outside, Lian Manman urgently whispered to Shen Liu.
Shen Liu raised an eyebrow, then slowly stood up, ready to walk out.
"Not that way." Lian Manman couldn’t care less, she grabbed Shen Liu’s sleeve, the sa arm which Shen Liu claid she "sat on and can’t lift."
Seeing this arm, a surge of frustration rose in Lian Manman; she really wanted to make him unable to lift it for real, but she still had so sense left, knowing she couldn’t do that right now.
Shen Liu, held back by Lian Manman, looked back at her in confusion.
"Weren’t you telling to leave?" Shen Liu asked Lian Manman.
"I am telling you to leave, but not that way," Lian Manman hastily replied. Worried soone outside might hear Shen Liu speaking normally, she put a finger to her lips, signaling him to keep quiet.
"Not that way, then which way?" Shen Liu, pulled back by Lian Manman, noticed her gesturing and revealed a very amused expression. But this ti he didn’t intentionally let Lian Manman panic; he truly lowered his voice slightly.
"The secret passage, go through the secret passage," Lian Manman quickly explained.
"Secret passage? Is there a secret passage here?" Shen Liu asked Lian Manman.
"What? This room doesn’t have a secret passage?" Lian Manman glanced at Shen Liu, because she couldn’t read the truth from his face, inevitably feeling more panicked. "Impossible. There must be another way out besides the door."
Lian Manman seriously and intensely stared at Shen Liu, as if she wanted to use her ntal strength to make him admit there was a secret passage out of this room.
Shen Liu calmly glanced at Lian Manman’s anxious face, then his gaze fell on the hand gripping his sleeve before returning to her face.
Being held like this by Lian Manman, Shen Liu didn’t shake her off, nor did he want to remind her that holding him like this wasn’t appropriate.
"Even if there’s a secret passage, why would I use it when there’s a perfectly good door?" Shen Liu unhurriedly questioned Lian Manman.
"There’s a secret passage, that’s great." Lian Manman let out a sigh of relief, then seriously told Shen Liu, "Of course, to avoid people outside seeing you here."
"That just makes it more peculiar." Shen Liu reasoned with Lian Manman, "This is my room, what’s odd about being here? Why would I be afraid of people seeing here?"
Of course, because I’m here too, we can’t let others see with you, Lian Manman thought.
At this mont, Lian Manman already heard soone opening the door outside.
"Hurry, you must hurry!" Lian Manman went from pulling Shen Liu’s arm to pushing him.
"Why aren’t you leaving?" Shen Liu remained composed.
" leave?" Lian Manman suddenly realized, yes, she was being silly. Since there’s a secret passage, she could use it to leave unnoticed. Afterwards, let Shen Liu deal with Cai Xiu. Moreover, avoiding a scene is even better.
"Okay, I’ll leave. Where’s the secret passage?" Lian Manman imdiately let go of Shen Liu, showing a visibly joyous expression.
Looking at Lian Manman, Shen Liu felt her frantic, clueless state monts ago was more pleasing, while her happy expression actually made him slightly displeased.
Thinking this, Shen Liu’s face showed no change.
"The secret passage is guarded." Shen Liu said gradually.
Lian Manman was taken aback. Guarded, that ans she would still be discovered even if she left through it. And walking through the unknown passage would beco harder to explain, it might be better to just be found in the outer room.
