Outside Jade City, a black shadow skimd across the water’s surface and landed on the shore. Under the sunlight, a beautiful figure appeared. It was none other than Yae-hi.

Although it didn’t seem particularly dangerous inside the city, she still played it safe by coming outside. This way, even if Richard had another sudden impulse to raise the city’s barrier, she wouldn’t end up in a bind like last ti.

Ding!

Suddenly, the system’s notification chid.

Upon listening closely, she realized it was an update to Irene’s affection level. Just like with Layna and the others, it had instantly maxed out to triple question marks.

Now it was Yae-hi’s turn to have question marks floating above her head. She was utterly baffled by how affection levels worked in this ga. No matter how she thought about it, she just couldn’t figure it out.

In her past life, these NPCs were impossible to conquer even through blood, sweat, and tears. Yet in this life, they seed to be flinging themselves at her!

Shaking her head, she decided not to think too hard about it. It wasn’t worth dwelling on. After all, it only benefited her and didn’t bring any harm.

“I wonder what’s going on at the Mangrove Forest.” Murmuring softly to herself, Yae-hi leapt up into a roadside tree and concealed her presence, then opened the forum to check the latest news.

《War Breaks Out: Hidden Boss vs. Death of Love Guild》

This trending post was the first thing she saw.

With a light tap, a video began playing automatically. On screen, the Death of Love guild was locked in fierce battle with a one-eyed monster shrouded in black mist, its appearance completely obscured.

“What the heck is that? I’ve never seen it before.” Yae-hi stared at the monster for a while, but nothing ca to mind. ‘Could it be a hidden boss, or perhaps…’ At that thought, the corners of her lips curled upward, revealing a smile full of intrigue and amusent.

“Guess I’ll play with you guys for a bit, and harvest a nice batch of leeks while I’m at it.” Even before she finished speaking, the tree branches quivered, and Yae-hi’s figure vanished in an instant.

At the sa mont, in the real world, Okinawa.

Lucky stepped out of the airport with his entourage, his overwhelming presence so intense that even ordinary bystanders could feel it.

Actually, what they felt was actually the suffocating pressure exuded by the tall, broad-shouldered n in black suits trailing behind him.

As for Lucky himself, he looked more like an ordinary, well-off middle-aged man in a traditional Chinese jacket.

“Grandmaster Hong!” Not far off, a middle-aged man in a white Taoist robe with a black belt called out with delight.

Behind him stood more than a dozen other n in Taoist robes, though their belts ca in a variety of vibrant colors. They were all dark-skinned and powerfully built, their expressions stern and vaguely exuding murderous intent. One look and you could tell they weren’t people to ss with.

“Grandmaster Ota, it’s been too long. I hope you’ll forgive my lack of greetings.” Lucky walked up and cupped his hands respectfully.

“Co now, we’re like brothers. You make us sound like strangers with talk like that.” The man known as Grandmaster Ota patted Lucky on the shoulder with a grin.

“That’s true. Even after more than a decade, you haven’t changed… you’re still just as warm and commanding as ever.” Lucky returned the shoulder pat, his face blooming with a radiant smile like a chrysanthemum in full bloom.

“You, on the other hand, have grown even more impressive over the years!” Ota clapped his shoulder even harder. The very air rippled from the impact.

Not to be outdone, Lucky responded with even greater force. A series of *thud thud thud* echoed through the scene.

Both entourages tensed instantly, the atmosphere thickening with pressure, making it hard to breathe.

“Ota, I think that’s enough for a test. Let’s not scare the juniors.” Lucky withdrew his hand with a calm smile, as if completely unfazed by the exchange.

“Hahaha! Lucky, your strength is truly formidable. Please forgive my offense.” Grandmaster Ota laughed heartily. He, too, was an Interdiate Grandmaster, only a month ahead of Lucky in reaching that realm.

“Your strength is just as impressive,” Lucky replied, subtly hiding his slightly reddened hand behind his back.

“Hahaha, we’re evenly matched.” Ota clenched his fist, his entire arm trembling faintly. It was clear both n had taken so damage from their little test.

Fortunately, injuries at that level would heal quickly and wouldn’t affect the duel scheduled for the evening. Both had exercised good judgnt in controlling their strength.

“I’ve already prepared a banquet at my dojo. Been waiting for your arrival.” Ota smiled warmly, looking as harmless as a friendly neighbor, which only made the savage aura of the n behind him stand out even more.

“Then I’ll gladly accept your hospitality,” Lucky replied, still smiling like a blooming chrysanthemum.

The two groups made their way to the parking lot together. There, more than a dozen business vehicles and a few large motorcycles were parked.

Lucky and Grandmaster Ota shared one car. When the fleet of vehicles and motorcycles rolled out together, the sight was more than a little impressive. Anyone unaware might’ve mistaken it for the motorcade of a visiting head of state from a small nation.

“Ota, have the ships to Baiding Island been arranged?” Inside the car, Lucky leaned back in his seat and asked in a low voice.

“Already taken care of,” Ota replied with a casual air.

“I really owe you for this one,” Lucky said with a slight frown. “The local branch has been completely unreliable.”

Originally, mbers of the local branch were supposed to pick him up from the airport and take him to Ota’s dojo together. But the entire branch had co down with food poisoning, all half-dead and bedridden, forcing Ota to co fetch him personally.

Naturally, Lucky was far from pleased. Those branch mbers had completely embarrassed him.

“Mass incidents like that are truly disastrous.” Ota shook his head lightly before continuing, “By the way, Lucky…Grandmaster Kim from Korea has already arrived at my dojo. Before long, experts from the surrounding countries will gather as well. Your influence really is sothing to behold.”

“Hehehe, they’re just doing a favor, that’s all.” Receiving such lavish praise, Lucky grinned from ear to ear, clearly pleased.

“Favor or not, influence cos from power. The fact they’re willing to co proves that your strength is widely recognized.” At that, Ota changed the subject with a hint of curiosity, “By the way, how confident are you about this duel? To be honest, I’m planning to place a big bet on your victory.”

Lucky had initially felt a flare of irritation from that question, but hearing the latter half, his mood instantly improved. With a smile, he replied, “I wouldn’t dare say one hundred percent, but I’d wager ninety-nine percent odds.”

His words were filled with utter confidence.

“Good!” Ota clapped his hands. “That’s the Lucky I know! Such confidence, such presence! Just like a Northern War God, unstoppable!”

“Haha, you flatter ,” Lucky said, rubbing his nose. “It’s just a kid who’s newly stepped into the Grandmaster realm, nothing to be concerned about. To be frank, this so-called Princess is rely the first sacrificial offering in my counterattack against Cathay’s martial world. I will make her a blood sacrifice, and let the entire world know— that I, Lucky, have returned as a king!”

As he recalled the humiliation of being driven out of Cathay in the past, Lucky’s heart trembled with rage.

“All that I lost that day…I’ll reclaim it, with interest!”

Beside him, Grandmaster Ota watched Lucky grow increasingly agitated. After a brief hesitation, he discreetly pulled out his phone and placed a five million bet on Princess.

Not out of loyalty or sympathy, but simply, just in case.
