Early the next morning, everyone got up early.
During breakfast, unexpectedly, An’an was not there. Xiaoxiao asked curiously, "Where did An’an go?"
"Don’t worry about that girl. Xiaohua took her away early in the morning. Just eat your breakfast," An’an’s mother replied.
Xiaoxiao didn’t think much of it. The little girl surely has a few playmates; going out was normal.
After breakfast, Xiaoxiao and Yang Ming decided to leave. They loaded their prepared belongings onto the carriage and left, with the An family seeing them off at the door.
"Uncle An, go back inside. We’ll be fine, and we’ll co back in a few days."
"Yes, yes, co back in a few days," Old An quickly agreed. "An Quan, make sure you return after you have taken them to their place."
"I know, Dad," An Quan replied and jumped onto the carriage.
After bidding farewell to the An family, Xiaoxiao and Yang Ming boarded the carriage. This ti, An Quan drove the carriage while Xiaoxiao and Yang Ming sat inside with the child. The carriage quickly disappeared into the distance.
The An family kept watching until the carriage was out of sight.
The esteed guest known to Lord County Magistrate who stayed with the An family had left, and the villagers all saw it. They also noticed An Quan leaving with them and curiously gathered at the An family’s doorstep for news.
"Old An, did that family leave?"
Seeing the villagers approaching, Old An knew they ca to inquire. Although he felt a bit uneasy, he couldn’t show it, lest the villagers detect sothing unusual and start spreading rumors. "Yes, they’ve left."
"Why did I see your An Quan go with them too?"
"The family ca from afar, so I had An Quan see them off."
"Oh, I see. I thought sothing more was going on." The villager nodded and continued, "Why did they leave so suddenly? Yesterday, the Village Chief just ntioned the governnt office’s matter, oh yeah, isn’t their child born this year? Looks only a few months old."
At this ti, another villager chid in, "Yeah, right? The governnt office would definitely need to be aware."
Soone asked more inquisitively, "Old An, are that child’s toes normal?"
Hearing this, Old An was visibly displeased. "What nonsense are you talking about? That child’s toes are perfectly normal. If he were an ominous person, would our family take him in? Besides, just look at how well our family is doing now; no one would believe any bad ons."
"Old An, your words are true. Ever since you encountered that family of three, your luck has indeed turned around."
"Yes, yes, I would believe in anyone being ominous except them. Just look at your family, and we can see it."
"..."
"..."
Hearing these, Old An was relieved. As long as the villagers weren’t suspicious, it was fine. He continued, "Wasn’t it what the Village Chief ntioned yesterday? This matter affects the whole dynasty. It’s likely the sa there, so they hurried back. That child is already registered with the governnt office. If they’re not seen at ho, won’t the governnt office co looking?"
"You’re right about that. They do need to be at ho waiting, after all, it’s the governnt office."
"Exactly, which is why they went back first. Alright, everyone, scatter now. Our family needs to get back to the fields to work." Saying this, Old An returned to the courtyard, picked up the farming tools, and led his family to the fields.
At this ti, no other families were busy since the crops were still growing and it wasn’t harvest ti yet, only the old An family was busy tilling the fields.
Seeing there wasn’t much to chat about, the villagers dispersed.
