The second daughter-in-law spoke up, "He ca back, went straight into the room, not sure what’s he doing in there."
Yang Ming’s mother added, "Don’t worry about him, maybe he’s just tired from working at the fish pond. He’ll co out when it’s ti for dinner."
While others didn’t find anything odd, Xiaoxiao felt sothing was strange.
She knew Yang Dong pretty well, after all, when she joined this family, the first person she interacted with was Yang Dong.
The young man was particularly honest, eagerly taking on household chores, never pretending or being fake. When it ca to working to earn money, his enthusiasm was unmatched. Normally taciturn and sowhat slow-witted, yet when it ca to business, his mind was as sharp as a tack.
Such a person, now during the busy ti at the fish pond, was shutting himself indoors. This wasn’t normal.
There must be sothing suspicious!
She couldn’t just sit by. She had to check on him.
At that mont, Yang Dong was indeed inside the room. Today, after working at the fish pond, his head felt particularly heavy, and he thought a nap might help. But as he dozed off, he vaguely heard the conversation outside, discussing why Li Chuntao had returned.
He raised his hand and thumped his head because he still felt intense pain and was burning up. He feared he might be sick.
He found another quilt and covered himself, hoping a bit more sleep and so sweating would make him better.
This kind of headache and fever, one could endure and get over it, no need for dicine.
Just as he closed his eyes, there was a knock on the door, followed by his sister-in-law’s voice, "Fourth brother, what are you doing in there?"
"Third sister-in-law, I’m fine, just didn’t sleep well last night and wanted to take a nap," Yang Dong imdiately replied. He wasn’t about to admit he was sick; with his robust health, he rarely fell ill, not even once a year. It wasn’t even the change of season yet, not to ntion winter was yet to co, and nobody else was sick, so how could he be the weak one?
Xiaoxiao didn’t believe him. She was sure Yang Dong was lying. Without more questions, she pushed the door open and entered since she noticed earlier that the door wasn’t locked.
The door opening startled Yang Dong, and he quickly looked toward the entrance, not expecting his sister-in-law to barg open like that.
As they locked eyes, Xiaoxiao was startled too; what was Yang Dong doing, covering himself with a heavy quilt in broad daylight? It’s one thing to nap, but no need to be bundled up like that.
Her first thought was that Yang Dong had a fever, so she imdiately approached him, "Fourth brother, do you have a fever?"
Caught on the spot, Yang Dong had no choice but to admit, "Third sister-in-law, please go out. It’s not appropriate to enter your younger brother-in-law’s room like this. I’m fine, just need a bit more sleep to sweat it out."
"Are you a child? You can’t just sweat out a fever; what if it cooks your brain and you beco an idiot?" Xiaoxiao was speechless. If you’re sick, you need treatnt. How can you just endure and get better? If it worked like that, why would we need doctors?
"It’s not as serious as you say," Yang Dong didn’t think it was a big deal. Besides, he was strong enough to endure it. After all, they used to get through illnesses like this often enough in the past.
Xiaoxiao didn’t bother to explain further, simply saying, "Get so rest. I’ll get you so dicine."
The door slamd shut with a loud bang.
Seeing Xiaoxiao co out, Yang Ming’s mother asked, "What about the fourth one? Is he alright?"
"Mom, fourth brother is sick, has a fever, and we don’t have any fever dicine at ho. I’m heading to the fish pond to find our big brother and second brother; one of them needs to go to the town to get so fever-reducing herbs for fourth brother."
