Chapter 1724: Chapter 1718: Return to School
“Are the two of them okay?” Gong Wuyou had been sent back to the dormitory to rest by Fu Shuai and the others, so he wasn’t here at the mont.
“They’re fine, no longer in any life-threatening danger.” Fu Shuai replied to the principal. If it weren’t for Qin Xue being there, they might not have made it back at all.
“That’s good. This mission was quite perilous for you students, but fortunately, you all made it back. Go rest for now, and we’ll talk about everything else after you’ve recovered.” The principal noticed they had lost a lot of weight and had clearly endured a tough ti.
“Thank you, Principal.” The group saluted before leaving the room.
“Do you think the new post the principal ntioned could be the place Chu Molin was talking about?” Qiu Zhiqiang was the most eager to get in.
“No idea.” The others shook their heads, just as clueless as he was.
“Let’s hope so.” Dong Liang hadn’t held much hope initially, but after hearing the conversation, he thought it was worth having a little bit of faith.
“Alright everyone, stop speculating. We’ll find out when the ti cos.” Fu Shuai actually wanted to go ho and take a look. He’d been away for so long and wondered how things were at ho.
Fu Shuai had never been away from ho for such a long ti before. In the past, he went ho once a week. Now it had been two months straight. He missed his parents and his wife.
“That’s all we can do for now. Let’s disperse, take a shower, and get a good night’s sleep.” Ai Zeming didn’t feel like guessing either. They’d know when the ti ca, so there wasn’t much point in speculating now, was there?
“Alright.” When they first set out, they couldn’t stand each other. But following this two-month mission, they had co to understand a new kind of bond.
“You’re back. What did the principal say?” Gong Wuyou opened his eyes and looked at Fu Shuai and Lei Xiao as they entered the dormitory.
“Nothing much. The principal just told us to head directly to the new place. We don’t even know yet where we’ll be assigned.” Lei Xiao didn’t have any other thoughts on the matter. But when thinking about his parents, he did worry—if the new location was too far away, he wouldn’t be able to visit them often, which made him feel a little unfilial.
But loyalty and familial duty have always been difficult to reconcile; sotis you have to choose one over the other.
“The principal said that? Does that an we don’t even need to return to our original base to report back?” Gong Wuyou was puzzled by what the principal was planning.
“He said no. Apparently, they’ve already inford the original base, and we just need to wait for further instructions.” Fu Shuai didn’t want to be sent sowhere too far either. But as students, they had to follow orders, and they took pride in that.
For this reason, Fu Shuai didn’t feel any resentnt about the new assignnt, nor was he particularly emotional about it.
“Alright, then we’ll just wait. I wonder how Chu Molin is doing. He left in such a hurry without saying much, just asked for leave on his behalf—it’s hard not to worry about him.” Gong Wuyou had only realized Chu Molin’s extraordinary abilities during this mission. He was unbelievable, almost inhuman, with a level of skill no one else could match.
“There’s no need to worry. He told us to co back and wait for him, so let’s just wait. Stop overthinking, and focus on recuperating. Who knows what the situation will be like once we get to the new place? When that ti cos, you won’t even have the chance to rest.” Lei Xiao glanced at Gong Wuyou.
“Alright, go wash up and get so rest. Oh, by the way, once you’re well-rested, could you go out and buy a jar of pickles? I’ve been craving that flavor for so long.” Gong Wuyou had been longing for pickles but couldn’t eat any during the mission. Now that they were back, if he still couldn’t have them, he figured he wouldn’t sleep well or eat properly.
