In the academy, it felt similar to a military system in so ways, though the key difference was that the school’s rules weren’t as strict as the military’s; it allowed for a sowhat more relaxed atmosphere.
“Get lost, all of you.” Fu Shuai picked up his clothes, genuinely tempted to kick them. They had teased him to the point his face had turned red.
Still, they weren’t entirely wrong—going back and letting them know he was safe would be enough.
“Haha, Fu Shuai blushing—what a rare sight once in a century!” Gong Wuyou couldn’t help but think this shy side of Fu Shuai was quite different from usual—and far too adorable.
Fu Shuai decided they weren’t worth his ti anymore, grabbed his clothes, and headed to the restroom. He’d rather take a shower and get so rest.

As for Chu Molin, who they were talking about, he was now leading a group of people down the mountain while carrying his son. On the way, they ran into Ji Dong and his team.
“Chu Molin, you found the kid—everything’s fine, right?” Ji Dong and his team had searched the back hills for miles without finding anyone. When they learned Chu Molin and the others hadn’t returned, they guessed they must have located their target and decided to head toward this side instead.
Soon enough, they ran into them mid-way. However, as Ji Dong glanced at the group, he recognized most of them from the previous night—except for one unfamiliar man. Was he the one who had taken the child?
“It’s all fine, but when we arrived, there was only the child and a pile of still-smoking firewood.” Nangong Beiying quickly jumped in before Chu Molin could speak. Since this was a matter that couldn’t be disclosed, she took the initiative to lie.
Given Chu Molin’s straightforward nature, he probably wouldn’t be able to lie, so Beiying figured it was better for her to handle it instead.

From the way Chu Molin interacted with Silver Wolf, Ji Dong could tell the two were acquainted—so he held back from voicing his suspicions. But just because Ji Dong didn’t ask outright didn’t an Silver Wolf wasn’t aware of his unspoken curiosity.
“Hello, I’m Silver Wolf, a security officer with the XX Departnt of the Imperial Capital.” Silver Wolf introduced himself.
“You’re Silver Wolf? eting you in person is far more intimidating than hearing your reputation,” Ji Dong said, clearly surprised to encounter one of the people renowned for inspiring fear.
“Thank you. I’m here on official business, which is why I’m not wearing my uniform—I’d rather avoid drawing too much attention to myself.” Silver Wolf explained, wearing plain clothes. He thought his disguise had been fairly effective—at least Qing Zhu hadn’t recognized him.
Yet when he rembered how even a kid like Yu Ze had recognized him, while Qing Zhu hadn’t, a trace of frustration welled up inside.
