Chapter 1750: Chapter 1744: Did Not Bring a Gift
“Hello, Uncle.” Yu Ze looked at the man who walked in with his mom and quickly greeted him. He recognized Qin Yu; after all, he rembered things and definitely wouldn’t forget.
“Hello, Uncle.” Following Yu Ze’s lead, the other children also greeted him.
“Hello, all of you.” Qin Yu hadn’t expected that after coming back ho, not only were there more people in the house, but there was also an additional child. What was going on?
Qin Yu recognized Jingtao, but as for the other one—who was that? It seed like every ti he ca ho, there were people and things he hadn’t been told about.
“Uncle Yu.” Jingtao obediently called Qin Yu.
“Taotao, hello.” Qin Yu looked at the well-behaved Jingtao, surprised at how much the children had changed after not seeing them for a while.
“Uncle, why did you co back at this ti?” Yu Ze asked the sa question Qin Xue had asked earlier.
“I missed you all, so I ca back. What’s the matter? Don’t you want to see ?” Qin Yu set his luggage to the side and looked at the children. Each of them was better looking than the next—really, the family genes were quite sothing.
“Not at all, we missed Uncle too,” Yu Ze said, nudging Yu Chen.
“That’s good. I was worried you all didn’t miss . But what should I do if I didn’t bring any gifts?” Qin Yu truly hadn’t expected to see his sister’s family here, so he hadn’t prepared anything for his nephews.
“It doesn’t matter, Uncle. We’ve grown up now; it’s fine even if we don’t get gifts.” Yu Ze, mischievous as ever, chid in.
“Haha, just listen to this little rascal saying he’s grown up—how funny is that?” Nangong Beiying nearly burst out laughing.
“He’s exactly what they an by ‘too smart for his own good,'” Qin Xue said, smiling. Even she found her son’s antics adorable.
“Alright, I owe you all then. I’ll make it up to you later. By the way, where are your grandparents?” Qin Yu asked, noticing that he hadn’t seen his parents.
“Grandma said Auntie would co back in the afternoon, so she went to the fields first,” Yu Ze recalled. Grandma had ntioned pulling up so radishes to make radish cakes for Auntie.
“Ah, I see. Thank you, my little nephew Yu Ze.” Qin Yu almost couldn’t tell which child was which, but at the last mont, he managed to figure it out.
“You’re welco,” Yu Ze said, shaking his head.
anwhile, Silver Wolf had been silently observing Qin Yu from the mont he entered. Qin Yu had also glanced at him several tis but didn’t say anything; instead, he rely tugged the corners of his mouth as a sort of greeting.
It seed there was so story here that Qin Yu wasn’t privy to. Perhaps he needed to find so ti to ask Chu Molin about it.
“When did Qin Yu get here?” Qing Zhu asked as she walked in holding her daughter, spotting the young man in the living room.
“Qing Zhu, I just got ho. Wow, this little one has grown so much; it’s so quick,” Qin Yu said, looking at the little girl in Qing Zhu’s arms, who was staring back at him. She was adorable.
“Haha, people always say it feels fast watching soone else’s kids grow up, but it’s slow with your own—there’s so much truth to that.” Qing Zhu chuckled. She had raised her daughter entirely on her own, through all the sses and hardships. Only she knew how much she had given. So, she completely agreed with that saying.
“No matter what, you should raise your own kids well. That way, when you look back, it’s all the more aningful, don’t you think?” Nangong Beiying added. Though she hadn’t raised children herself yet, she would soon have her own and firmly believed it was important to personally raise them.
“Yeah, you’re right. If you don’t raise your own kids, there will always be a sense of regret,” Qing Zhu nodded in agreent. However, she didn’t notice Silver Wolf watching little Yuran as if lost in thought as she spoke.
