"Why are you guys so slow coming up the stairs? I could hear your voices from afar, but I’ve been waiting for ages and still haven’t seen anyone." Qing Zhu was tidying up clothes inside the room, planning to take them out for a wash later. She heard Qin Xue’s voice for quite a while, but no one ca up. A glance outside revealed the two sisters-in-law talking on the stairs. Couldn’t they continue chatting inside?
"We got carried away talking for a mont. What’s up? Missing your daughter, right? Here you go, and these are the things your future father-in-law bought for the child. He said he wanted to buy them for you, but I refused." Qin Xue handed the child to Qing Zhu, then pointed at the stuff in Chu Xiaoqiao’s hands, explaining their origin to Qing Zhu.
"What are you talking about? Where do I have a future father-in-law? Don’t talk nonsense." Qing Zhu was displeased. She has never thought about getting married, so in-laws and such are not within her consideration.
"Do you really want your child to grow up in a single-parent family?" Qin Xue retorted as soon as she heard Qing Zhu’s words.
"What’s wrong with that? I grew up without parents, and I’ve lived quite well too." Qing Zhu feels those with parents are no better off than soone like her without them.
"You are not the sa as her situation. You are living well, but are you truly happy? Is there no regret in your heart?" Qin Xue was sowhat frustrated with her stubbornness.
If everyone thought like her, wouldn’t the world be a ss? Moreover, children with parents around are definitely different, aren’t they?
"What’s regret worth? It’s not who chose not to have them." Qing Zhu feels that having irresponsible parents is worse than having none.
She lived well with the orphanage director and the nuns, so this issue doesn’t deeply affect her emotionally.
"So, you couldn’t choose, but are you willing to let your daughter walk the sa path? What would she think?" Qin Xue truly felt defeated by her. She took the things from Chu Xiaoqiao into the room.
Earlier, after Xiaoqiao saw Qing Zhu coming out without a child in her arms, she handed over all the stuff and went downstairs to tend the shop. If she were here, Qin Xue wouldn’t have discussed this matter with Qing Zhu, as it’s Qing Zhu’s privacy.
"Xuexue, I just don’t want to get married. I haven’t stopped them from recognizing each other. Moreover, I let them recognize each other now, didn’t I? Why does it feel like I did sothing unforgivable?" Qing Zhu really doesn’t understand what Qin Xue is thinking.
"Qing Zhu, haven’t you ever seen how those kids from incomplete families end up in history? You know how tough it is. Yes, many people are determined and eventually live well. But undeniably, kids growing up in complete families lead much happier and more joyful lives in the future, right?" Qin Xue isn’t trying to force Qing Zhu into marrying Ye Xuan.
But Ye Xuan is truly a good person. She doesn’t want Qing Zhu’s past experiences to continue into the next generation. Whatever happens, at the very least, they should try dating first. If it’s truly unsuitable, no one will force her to marry, right?
In her heart, she hopes Qing Zhu finds her happiness. She’s uncertain if Ye Xuan is Qing Zhu’s Mr. Right, but she hopes Qing Zhu won’t just dismiss him flatly. At least give him a chance to show what he’s got, right?
