In Mr. Mo’s mind, Qin Xue and Nangong Susu are two different kinds of individuals. Nangong Susu tends to be quiet and detached, but Qin Xue is always gentle and smiling, giving off a warm aura that draws people in.
Mr. Mo understands that Qin Xue has an incredibly calm deanor, taking life in stride, seemingly unaffected by anything, but truthfully absorbing everything. It’s just that she doesn’t show it too apparently.
“Alright, thank you, Mr. Mo.” Qin Xue nodded after hearing his words. Things were just as she expected. Regardless of how impressive her performance, final decisions were made after a deliberation process. It was sothing Qin Xue anticipated, so she didn’t find it surprising at all. It worked well as she planned to teach An Hao and Chu Xiaoqiao a few things during this ti before she gets too busy with work and can’t take care of them anymore.
Qin Xue took Mr. Mo to the beef tripe shop. It was already evening, yet the place was still relatively busy. This made Qin Xue inexplicably happy. The shop wasn’t hers, and she didn’t know the owner, yet she found herself happy for their successful business.
“Mr. Mo, this is the place. The taste isn’t too shabby. Feel free to order whatever you want. This al’s on .” Qin Xue cheerily said to Mr. Mo.
“That’s mighty kind of you! I guess today’s my lucky day.” Mr. Mo didn’t refuse but instead accepted the offer graciously, which made Qin Xue even happier. This Mr. Mo was a unique character.
In the end, both ordered a dish of beef tripe soup and a plate of marinated beef. Considering their appetites, it was just right. Furthermore, Qin Xue asked the staff to pack another portion to take ho as there was soone at ho who hadn’t eaten yet. She wondered if they would have fallen asleep by the ti she got back.
“The food here is quite sothing. I never knew there was such a delicious place hidden away. Next ti I don’t feel like eating at the cafeteria, I’ll enjoy a bowl of soup here.” Mr. Mo said while eating, his malfeasance made Qin Xue think that he was like a mischievous old child.
“Sure thing. I discovered this place by accident, and ever since I can’t seem to forget the taste.” What Qin Xue wondered was where that familiar feeling ca from. But on this visit, she couldn’t find anything. Thus, she was a bit disappointed.
If she couldn’t find it here, she’d go to the Yuxuan Restaurant next ti. The elents there were more familiar, and there might even be a discovery.
“Young people like you have it good. You can just stroll around and find delicious things on a whim. Unlike our ti, we didn’t even dare to dream. Now, even though we have the liberty, I’ve grown too old and lost interest. So, I usually just make do and get by.” Despite being a foodie at heart, the harsh realities of war ant that one could be grateful just for a mouthful of food. No room for being picky. This shaped his habit; if there’s food, enjoy it; if not, get by with whatever’s available.
“Mr. Mo, what are you talking about? There are plenty of good days ahead, and even more food to enjoy. Just like you said, there’s no need to make do. Even if you wanted to, others have to agree first, right? The hospital needs you. You may find it difficult to let go of your responsibilities.” Qin Xue looked at the weather-beaten old man on the other side of the table.
Without their sacrifices, there wouldn’t be the peace they enjoyed today. This old man deserved everyone’s respect. Therefore, hearing Mr. Mo say those words, Qin Xue felt a pang of sadness.
