Zhang Xiaofan returned to the Corpse Demon Sect and went straight to a cave at the southern foot of the Corpse Demon Mountain.
Above the cave entrance, three large characters were engraved — "White Bone Cave."
There were no guards in front of the cave, but there were arrays and restrictions to prevent outsiders from entering.
Zhang Xiaofan took out a token and activated it, allowing him to easily enter the cave.
The cave twisted downward, and after descending for several dozen ters, a massive underground hall filled with layers of white bones appeared before him.
Among the white bones, vines were scattered here and there.
The vines were grayish-white, so long and so short. The longer ones were several ters long, while the shorter ones were only about a foot long.
In one corner of the hall, a few simple stone houses were built.
Zhang Xiaofan flew into the stone house, where a mid-stage Foundation Establishnt male cultivator greeted him.
"Greetings, Elder. How may I assist you today?"
Zhang Xiaofan said, "Wang Zhishi, what should we do with the two corpse vines that were parasitized by the phosphorus bone moth last month?"
Wang Zhishi replied, "According to past experience, once the corpse vines are parasitized by the phosphorus bone moth, there will inevitably be moth eggs inside that cannot be completely removed. In order to prevent other corpse vines from being infected, I have already pulled those two vines out."
"Have the two corpse vines been destroyed?" Zhang Xiaofan asked.
"Well... no, they have not been destroyed," Wang Zhishi hesitated for a mont before revealing the truth.
The two corpse vines were only a few decades old and had been infected by the phosphorus bone moth. However, they could still be used to refine so second- or third-tier spiritual dicines, so they still held significant value.
Wang Zhishi had originally planned to sell these two corpse vines on the black market to exchange them for so spiritual stones.
This was one of the few opportunities he had to earn extra inco while working at the White Bone Cave.
Now that Zhang Xiaofan had inquired, Wang Zhishi knew he would not be able to keep the two vines.
Without needing Zhang Xiaofan to say anything, Wang Zhishi took out two jade boxes.
The jade boxes were long and nearly two ters in length but only about a foot wide.
Wang Zhishi opened one of the boxes and handed it to Zhang Xiaofan.
"Elder, please inspect them."
Zhang Xiaofan took the jade box and carefully examined the corpse vines.
The vines were well-preserved, almost identical to when they had been pulled from the ground, giving off a lively feeling.
In order to prevent others from noticing that the vines had been parasitized by the phosphorus bone moth, Wang Zhishi had treated them in so way.
The moth-eaten leaves were removed, but traces of the leaf shedding could still be seen.
However, to an unknowing person, the traces would appear to be a natural shedding of leaves.
Zhang Xiaofan stored the two corpse vines in his storage ring.
"I will take these two vines. I don’t want anyone else to know about this."
Wang Zhishi bowed respectfully, "This subordinate has destroyed the two corpse vines infected with insects according to sect rules."
Zhang Xiaofan waved his hand and tossed a cloth bag.
"Just take it."
Wang Zhishi took the cloth bag, and after inspecting it with his spiritual sense, he imdiately bead with joy.
"Thank you, Elder Zhang."
After leaving the White Bone Cave, Zhang Xiaofan made his way to the Ten Thousand Soul Pavilion, where the soul lamps were kept.
Inside the main hall of the Ten Thousand Soul Pavilion, a female cultivator at the Qi Refining stage greeted him.
"Disciple greets the Elder. May I ask what brings the Elder here?" The female cultivator seed unfamiliar with Zhang Xiaofan and spoke respectfully.
"Is Elder Tang Liu of the Ten Thousand Soul Pavilion available?" Zhang Xiaofan asked.
"Elder Tang is in secluded ditation," the female cultivator replied.
"Go report that the Alchemy Hall Elder, Zhang Xiaofan, has co to visit," Zhang Xiaofan instructed.
"Yes!"
The female cultivator accepted the order and turned to walk down a corridor deeper into the hall.
Before long, she returned and walked up to Zhang Xiaofan.
"Reporting to Alchemy Hall Elder, Elder Tang invites you."
"Lead the way," Zhang Xiaofan said.
"Please follow , Elder."
The female cultivator spoke and turned to guide Zhang Xiaofan deeper into the hall.
They passed through a long corridor and arrived at a secret room with a half-open stone door.
At that mont, a low, deep female voice ca from inside the cave.
"Alchemy Hall Elder, what a rare visitor! Please, co in."
Zhang Xiaofan followed the invitation and entered the secret room.
Inside, an older woman was sitting cross-legged on a cushion. This woman was Elder Tang Liu, as ntioned by Zhang Xiaofan.
Tang Liu took out another cushion and invited Zhang Xiaofan to sit. After a few casual exchanges, she changed the subject and asked, "Alchemy Hall Elder, may I ask what brings you to the Ten Thousand Soul Pavilion today?"
Zhang Xiaofan replied, "Elder Tang, I have co today to request a disciple’s soul lamp from your pavilion."
Tang Liu’s eyes narrowed slightly as she said seriously, "Alchemy Hall Elder, this request of yours goes against the sect’s rules."
Seeing that the other party had invoked the sect rules, Zhang Xiaofan simply smiled faintly.
"Rules are the foundation of the sect, and of course, they must be followed. However... there are always exceptions. Might Elder Tang consider making an exception?"
As he spoke, Zhang Xiaofan handed over ten spiritual stones.
They were ten high-quality spiritual stones.
Tang Liu calmly accepted the spiritual stones and asked, "Which soul lamp does Alchemy Hall Elder wish to request?"
"Chen Feihe," Zhang Xiaofan replied.
Tang Liu was slightly taken aback. "You an the Chen Feihe who, despite being a man, enjoys dressing in won’s clothing?"
Zhang Xiaofan nodded.
Tang Liu furrowed her brow. "This may be difficult. Chen Feihe is not only a Foundation Establishnt cultivator, but he also has so renown within the sect. If he were to disappear for no reason, it would surely draw attention. If the sect cos to the Ten Thousand Soul Pavilion to inquire about his soul lamp, and I am unable to provide it, I would have no way to explain myself."
Zhang Xiaofan smiled faintly and handed over another ten high-quality spiritual stones.
"In my opinion, the Ten Thousand Soul Pavilion has many soul lamps, and it is natural that a few of them may have minor issues from ti to ti. What do you think, Elder Tang?"
Tang Liu glanced at the spiritual stones floating in the air and responded, "That is true. However, overseeing the soul lamps is my responsibility. If anything goes wrong with a soul lamp, how could the sect let off lightly?"
In the air, the spiritual stones shimred for a mont, and the number of floating stones increased by twenty.
"Elder Tang, you are a pillar of the sect. A small mistake like this surely wouldn’t be a matter that the sect would pursue too seriously," Zhang Xiaofan said.
Tang Liu’s face broke into a knowing smile. Without any visible movent, the twenty floating spiritual stones disappeared without a trace.
Her spiritual sense reached out and swept through one room after another in the Ten Thousand Soul Pavilion.
Finally, in one of the rooms, a soul lamp slowly flew out.
The soul lamp twisted and turned down the corridor, eventually arriving at the secret room where Zhang Xiaofan and Tang Liu were.
"Alchemy Hall Elder, this is Chen Feihe’s soul lamp."
Zhang Xiaofan inspected the lamp, and after confirming there was no issue, he stored it away.
"Thank you, Elder Tang."
Zhang Xiaofan then inquired about Ji Yin’s soul lamp and, after receiving the information, bid his farewells and left.
