The unrefined plasma coursed through Kael’s arm not as liquid, but as a jagged, multi-million-volt network of pure kinetic agony. The V.I.P.E.R. suit violently buckled, the black and crimson scales on his gauntlet expanding and peeling back as they struggled to process the volatile, raw energy bleeding directly out of Verrion-9’s crust.

Kael roared, the sound tearing past his throat and echoing through the narrow basalt cavern in a terrifying, chanical screech. He tore his hand away from the glowing blue fissure. His entire right arm was now radiating a blinding, white-violet glare, the heat lting the loose gravel beneath his boots into glass.
"Kael! Fall back!" Mira shouted, shielding her eyes from the intense luminescence. "The ceiling is losing structural integrity!"
Directly above them, the grinding of the Dominion drill-pods reached a frantic, high-pitched crescendo. With a deafening structural snap, the basalt overhead fractured. A massive, three-pronged automated drilling nose cone punched through the roof of the cavern, throwing down a cataclysm of shattered rock and pressurized hydraulic steam.
The chanical pod didn't just drill; it imdiately deployed its periter security arrays. Four automated heavy blaster turrets uncoupled from the pod's chassis, their sensors instantly locking onto the glowing silhouette of the Red Viper.

"Get behind the bulkhead!" Kael commanded, his voice a distorted, overlapping rumble that shook the miners' teeth.
He didn't wait for them to scramble. Moving with a hyper-accelerated kinetic velocity fueled by the raw plasma, Kael intercepted the first volley. He lunged forward, his right hand igniting into a massive, unrefined pillar of violet energy that completely eclipsed his standard crimson blade.
He swung his arm in a brutal, horizontal arc. The volatile energy blade didn't just slice; it detonated upon contact. The sheer concussive force of the unrefined plasma completely vaporized the nearest two automated turrets, sending molten shards of Dominion alloy whistling through the dust.
The drill-pod’s central processing core tried to adjust, pitching its remaining blasters toward his chest, but Kael was already airborne.
The thruster boots fired with an explosive, untered burst of white-hot pressure, launching him straight up into the drilling column. He drove his overloaded right fist directly into the pod’s chanical drive gears. The kinetic pile-driver engaged, but instead of a simple shockwave, it unleashed the trapped, unrefined plasma directly into the machine's internal fuel cells.
"Burn," Kael snarled.

The automated breaching pod convulsed as a blinding violet explosion ripped through its internal chambers. The blast cascaded upward, blowing the top completely off the drilling pod and collapsing the shaft behind it, sealing the vertical insertion point with a multi-ton plug of lted rock and debris.
Kael fell back to the cavern floor, landing heavily as the white-violet glare along his armor began to crackle and fade, returning to a dim, smoking crimson.

He stood in the smoking ruins of the tunnel, his armor dripping hot slag onto the stone. He had blocked the spearhead, but the unrefined power was changing him. He could feel the suit's automated sub-routines binding to his muscle fibers, tightening their hold as the final fractions of his human autonomy began to slip away.
