Chapter 153: The Ten-Year Mandate

The Zenith Vault was completely silent.

The colossal, multi-dinsional diamond hovered in the center of the white tal room. It pulsed with a heavy, rhythmic golden light.

The absolute pressure radiating from the Cosmic Anchor felt like standing at the bottom of a freezing ocean.

I stared at the blinding golden System prompt floating in my vision.

[Global Quest Triggered: The Warden’s Ascension.]

[Observation: You have eradicated the planetary gatekeepers. The Monster Continent is without a master.]

[Condition: The True Rulers grant you exactly one decade to prepare the Velkrath Imperium. You must reach Level 100 and prove your absolute worth as the Apex Warden.]

[Failure: If you fail to et the cosmic threshold in ten years, the True Rulers will initiate an absolute planetary cleansing. All life will be erased.]

Ten years.

To an ancient Archlich or a Progenitor Queen, a decade was nothing but a fleeting blink. But to , a reincarnated Goblin who had conquered a continent in a fraction of that ti, ten years was an absolute eternity.

I did not feel fear. I felt the slow, burning heat of a challenge.

"System," I commanded internally. "I accept the mantle."

DING!

[System Alert: Ultimatum Accepted. The planetary purge has been delayed. The True Rulers return to their slumber.]

The blinding, terrifying golden light radiating from the Cosmic Anchor instantly dimd. The suffocating alien pressure vanished from the underground vault.

The colossal crystal settled into a slow, rhythmic pulse of dull yellow light.

I let out a slow, heavy breath. I had just bought my entire world a decade of life.

"Sovereign?" Nyssa asked nervously. The green geotrical tattoos on her skin flickered as she looked from the massive diamond to my towering Ironclad armor.

"What just happened? The ambient mana pressure completely collapsed."

"I signed a temporary truce," I rumbled, turning my back on the cosmic relic.

"The True Rulers want to guard their dirt. I will guard it until I am strong enough to bury them in it."

I pointed a heavy brass finger at the architect.

"Lock this vault down," I ordered.

"Bring down the remaining S-Grade Hive Chitin and line these walls with it. I want a complete magical deadzone around this crystal. And Nyssa, you do not speak of this tir to anyone outside the Pack."

Nyssa adjusted her glasses, her glowing green eyes widening slightly.

"You are keeping a cosmic threat a secret from the generals?"

"A terrified empire is a weak empire," I stated coldly.

"If the Orcs and Beastn know the gods are coming in ten years, they will panic. They will fight over scraps. The Forge needs hope right now. They need stability. I will carry the weight of the tir."

"It will be done securely, Master," Nyssa bowed deeply, her mind already calculating the structural reinforcents for the vault.

I left the underground chamber, marching heavily up the spiraling staircase back to the surface.

The Zenith Academy was an absolute ruin. The pristine marble towers had been reduced to jagged, burning craters.

Black smoke choked the morning sky. The golden statues of human heroes lay shattered in the dirt, completely crushed beneath the heavy treads of Silas’s steam tanks.

My generals were waiting for in the ruined courtyard.

Pri Minister Hardsteel leaned heavily on his massive broadsword. Silas was calmly lighting a fresh cigar. Rolf stood atop a pile of rubble, his silver armor stained with soot and human blood.

"The vault is secured," I announced, my baritone voice amplifying over the crackling fires.

"The Zenith Academy has officially fallen. The human elites are dead."

The Beastn Vanguard surrounding the courtyard erupted into deafening, bloodthirsty cheers. They raised their weapons to the sky, howling in pure victory.

Hardsteel looked up, his old Orc eyes sharp and calculating.

"Are there more human armies marching from the coast, Sovereign? Give the word, and we will crush their coastal cities."

"No," I commanded sharply.

The cheering imdiately died down. Rolf instantly snapped to attention, bowing his silver head in submission.

"The era of pure survival is over," I stated, walking over to a fallen marble pillar.

"We are not mindless beasts. A graveyard does not pay taxes. A burning farm does not feed my Orcs. If we turn this continent into a wasteland, we prove we are exactly the monsters the humans claid we were."

I looked directly at my Alpha General.

"Rolf," I continued.

"Take the Vanguard. March into the capital city of the Eastern seaboard. Tear down the Zenith banners and raise the Ironclad flag. Do not slaughter the civilians. Secure the streets and show them exactly what happens to those who try to loot or riot. The Sovereign’s Law is now absolute."

"They will learn their place, Alpha," Rolf promised, a deep rumble vibrating in his chest.

I turned to Silas. The Chief Inquisitor blew a thick ring of smoke into the sky, a knowing smile spreading across his handso face.

"Chief Inquisitor," I ordered.

"The remaining Grandmasters and Academy scholars are currently rotting in our cages. Dig through their minds. Find out exactly how the human economy functions. Find their hidden gold reserves, their supply lines, and their magical academies. I want all of it integrated into the Velkrath Imperium by the end of the month."

"Consider their secrets exposed, Sovereign," Silas replied smoothly, adjusting his collar.

"But the continent is massive. Moving goods and troops from the Forge to these human coastal cities will take weeks by Wyvern or caravan. Logistics will beco our greatest enemy."

"That is exactly why we are going to change the world," I growled, my red eyes flaring beneath my dark visor.

I looked at Nyssa, who had just erged from the vault stairs.

"Nyssa and I have a new project," I announced to the War Council.

"We are going to lay down thousands of miles of black iron tracks. We are going to build massive, steam-powered Mana Trains. We will connect the Great Iron Labyrinth directly to the human trade ports. We will move thousands of tons of steel, food, and troops across the continent in a matter of days."

Hardsteel’s jaw slightly dropped. The sheer logistical scale of the idea was completely unheard of in this magical fantasy world.

"You are going to industrialize the entire continent," Silas laughed softly, taking a long drag of his cigar.

"The humans thought they were the pinnacle of civilization. You are about to put them in factories."

"They will work for the Forge," I declared.

"Equal standing under the law, enforced by absolute terror and absolute wealth."

As the generals began shouting orders to mobilize the new occupation forces, a deep, resonant warmth suddenly blood inside my chest. It was fundantally different from the violent, burning adrenaline of the Fla of Death.

DING!

The System interface flashed before my eyes, the text glowing with a soft, regal purple hue.

[System Alert: The Era of Conquest has successfully concluded. The Era of Legacy is initiated.]

[New Feature Unlocked: The Dynasty System.]

I opened the new tab. The details were absolutely staggering.

Because I had secured a permanent territory and established a Sovereign Law, Lust Points and Imperial Points were no longer just generated through combat or raw intimacy.

[Dynasty System Active.]

[Effect 1: Deep emotional bonds, political stability, and Kingdom-building will now generate massive, passive LP multipliers.]

[Effect 2: Sustained intimacy with your Pack will slowly cultivate ’Bloodline Buffs’ to prepare their biology for future Sovereign Heirs.]

[Effect 3: The Velkrath Imperium now grants a global 20% resource production speed to all loyal citizens.]

I dismissed the screen, a jagged smile forming behind my helt.

The gods had given ten years to reach Level 100. They thought it was a death sentence. But they had absolutely no idea how fast an industrialized, steampunk monster empire could grow.

I turned to my Pack. Lysandra, Kaelith, and Anise were waiting for near the spatial tear.

"Let the Vanguard clean up the ash," I commanded, my voice dropping an octave, heavy with dark promise.

"We are going ho. It is ti to reap the rewards of peace."
