"Alright, we're going to play so big cards here. We need to first avoid the pincer attack while making our way toward the south. We also need to avoid Class-3.”
I, along with Shizu and Karua, decided we would be taking south. In the anti I sketched out my plan, the face-off between Class-8 and Class-3 had begun.
The leader of Class-3, a foxkin category holder, appeared to have «Hundred Fla Fox» job! This was definitely a great punch against groups, dealing fire-attribute AoE damage.
But on the downside, the MP consumption was similarly rough. And since its damage output relies on MP and INT, the user was weak against strike damage. So, overall, they're the vanguard mage, but unlike what one would expect, that fox girl was rattling the opponent from vanguard. Her confidence was really sothing.
Lacritta was tackling her, but she lacked enough firepower to take her down. It might not be easy to bring that girl in absence of rt for Class-8.
"Hey, Misato. Co here a bit."
"What's it, Zephyr-kun? I am already busy here!"
"«Area Healing» should make it slightly easier! Anyway, Emi and Sierra will be enough here. I want you to deal with her."
Staring into the direction I pointed out, Misato's face scrunched as if she had chewed a bitter bug.
"Ah, her..."
"Is there any problem? If it's impossible, then never mind."
"Hmm, it's not exactly a problem... alright. I will do that!"
"Thanks a bunch."
Since Sierra was enough to keep Class-1 safe, and Emi as healer, I had Misato keep Class-3's leader in check.
"anwhile, we continued on our direction while suppressing alliances that had already regrouped themselves, and now trying to chase us.
"Alliance intends to get us between their two groups and crush us from both sides."
"At this pace, it would be Class-1 versus alliance, and Class-8 versus Class-3."
Shizu quipped after .
"As things stand, this would be the situation. So, I am sure they will try to increase their pressure on us."
" " "——Ooooooooohhhh!!" " "
"«Cover Shield»!"
My words had just ended when a war cry echoed from the alliance direction rousing their morale. However Sierra continued to deflect the incoming attacks.
"Emi, heal Sierra."
"Roger! You only need to give the command, Zephyr-san. «Magic Ally - Great Healing»! «Magic Ally - Full Heal»! «Magic Ally - ga Healing»!"
Emi, despite her job, had learned six healing spells too, and her effort was shining now. Sierra's already an expert in her tank roleplay, so it should be fine for the rest of the ti.
Shizu, affirming that, nodded her head in understanding as she held her gun in the direction of alliance.
"I see. An attempt to corner us, huh? Then wouldn't it be better to clear them out? As they say, there would be no fire without grass."
"Woah there. It's not that easy. We're already short staffed. We need to find other effective thods to keep them at bay."
"Hn, what do you an by effective thod, Zephyr?"
Karua inquired, her curiosity picked by my words. Shizu also was gazing at , sothing surprising. Maybe she was eager to learn about it as well.
"Ah, well, their fortress is now gone. So we can leave the seven other mbers, and take a small elite squad to attack Class-5 and Class-51's base. Karua, call Pala and Rika here. We'll be splitting into small teams."
Karua's eyes blinked in surprise at my words. It was obvious she was confused at the contradiction of my words; while I wanted to keep them at bay, why was I thinking of other bases.
My plan was straightforward; the mbers of our two classes would continue to move forward in the south direction, while the alliance chased after us. In the anti, the five mber team of us—, Karua, Rika, Pala, and Shizu—would launch a raid on other bases, brute forcing our way. Once stuck in a dilemma, what alliance would choose; a priority to pincer attack or their ally?
"Class-1 was never about its their unity as one big group. It is in our war potential to carry out small parties."
I had already seen through the alliance's planning, and now, it was my ti to play out our cards.
◇◇◇
On the alliance side, Rina once again took reign over the situation, getting the situation in order with her «Command» skill. They spent a mont in recovering via potions, sothing they'd very few left, and imdiately began their chase at Class-1.
"Keep the fire, do not waver! We must keep them under our control!"
"You heard the leader, everyone? Let us begin!"
"Keep your pace! As soon as we're done with Class-1, we will target Class-8!"
Following Rina, Lamda and Hyudo also raised their voice, and managed their subsequent squads. They might have lost the fortress, but with incoming reinforcent of Class-3, it was their chance to catch an opponent in it, and crush them.
However the battlefield had already split up. Class-1 now remained to handle them, while Class-8 and Class-3 clashed in distance from them. If they still wanted to keep on their strategy, they'd force Class-1 and corner it in Class-3 direction.
"Tomoyo-san, keep your guard up! I am bringing out «Dragon's Miniature Garden»!"
"Yes, you can do so anyti, Rina-san!"
"I-I will keep the guard as well!"
"I too will exhaust any ans to put safety above everything!"
Once affirming the situation had been in control, Rina took out «Dragon's Miniature Garden». She had stored it in her Item Bag, as due to its size, it was impossible to carry along. Besides, they would've risked losing it to the enemy if they'd been attacked before they could get the chaos in control.
She had already lost sight of the situation since a while ago. The sudden attack from Shizu, and then Karua etc had forced her to keep it away. Now, she had no inkling how the situation had played out.
Shielded behind the circle of Tomoyo—Akemi had been carried away by Lamda for so other task—Wardol, Kajmal, Rina continued her work.
"Alright. —Activate! «Human Observation»! «Eye of Discernnt»!"
With the first skill «Human Observation», Rina searches for ally and enemies positions in the overall field. Consequently, 3-D silhouettes started to appear in the «Dragon's Miniature Garden».
With «Eye of Discernnt», the silhouettes were given red and green color as a way to differentiate, while also displaying the HP of the fortress, bases, and everyone else.
"—What?!"
Barely a mont later, a shocking gasp escaped from Rina.
"W-what's wrong, Rina-sa—ahh. What in the world?"
Tomoyo, catching her gasp, turned around to check on Rina, but she ended up receiving the sa surprise. She couldn't believe it.
A carriage was charting the path through east of central mountain toward the north with a blazing speed, and its target was undoubtedly First Fortress.
"T-this is Ester-san's «Thunder Javelin». But are they serious, targeting First Fortress?!"
The situation, that had been fragnted due to the chaos, had now begun to fall in one place for Rina, and she imdiately linked up to Zephyr's true motive.
As their present situation stood, a huge majority of the mbers from 1st Fortress, 2nd Fortress, and Class-3 had gathered in this area. This ant the respective fortresses were loaded with bare minimum defense force.
It's anyone guess 1st Fortress would barely be able to hold itself off. Arriving at this juncture, Rina realised the target was never her, but all of that was a guise. And once it was down, they would target the actual base, and eliminate any of the class.
And the loss of a partner class would be unimaginable. It had been taking the alliance of four classes to encircle the opponent, and if either of them got cut out, the alliance would fall behind—no, they would fall out of the race for good.
She had heard from Zephyr how the dungeon carriage could easily break through the situation repeatedly, though he himself had never used it until now. Rina's heart throbbed from pain considering the situation.
They're nearly pushed to the edge.
Their reinforcent wouldn't make it in ti—at least, not until the fortress itself is down. And once that happens, they would have to secure other places from getting attacked. However, due to the close proximity of Class-12 and Class-51's base, there was no clear situation which would get attacked. And putting resources into one of them would leave the other defenceless.
In the end, they'd too many places to secure. They would most certainly be required to pull their main force to secure every base's safety. But, with Class-3 engaging again Class-8, it didn't appear they had any leeway.
So, would they sit hand-by-hand, watching as Class-12 fell down? And once that happened, Class-51 was next. Then Class-5.
Cut off Class-3 here? But that would push them to side with the enemy in revenge.
They're nearly checkmated here. And as if in response to affirm her guesses, she received the news.
"E-Ekatrina-dono! J-just now, Brave has broken through the alliance barricade, and i-is now charging toward our base!"
"Wha—?!"
"Damn!"
The information from Lamda stunned Wardol and Kajmal to the core, their eyes nearly popping out of their eye socket.
Rina imdiately confird their movent via «Dragon's Miniature Garden», and saw out of the five red-color silhouettes that broke through their barricade, two of them were charging in Class-5's direction, while three of them had split to blitz in Class-51's direction.
They're planning a simultaneous strike on three bases! And considering they're against Zephyr, they'd have to make a decision now. Rina steel'd her mind, and gave out her order.
"Split our mbers and chase after them, Lamda-san!"
"!!"
"I will leave it to you to tackle Zephyr-san. ...You're allowed to use the last weapon!"
"——Understood!"
In the end, she split their current force into four parties.
One group, spearheaded by Lamda, would tackle Zephyr at Class-51's base.
Second group, spearheaded by Hyudo, would be rushing to Class-5.
Third group, spearheaded by Tomoyo, would tackle the enemy at the Class-12 base.
And the final group, that includes Rina and Akemi and others, would stay behind to tackle Class-1 and Class-8.
