The two of them first went to grab breakfast before setting off for Lin Xi’s exclusive hair salon.
As soon as her hairstylist, Tony, saw Lin Xi arrive, he imdiately dropped everything to give her his full attention. "Miss, what kind of style are you thinking of today?" Tony was a male hairdresser, about twenty-four years old, and had been styling Lin Xi’s hair for three years, so the two were quite familiar with each other.
"It’s not for , it’s for my boyfriend, Xue Yang. I’d like you to design a style that suits him," Lin Xi said, gesturing to Xue Yang.
Tony paused. "Your boyfriend?" Only then did he truly notice Xue Yang standing beside Lin Xi. The young man was actually quite striking, but since they were both n, Tony had subconsciously overlooked him. Lin Xi had brought other young n here before, but they were usually chauffeurs or assistants. He never imagined that this ti, she would bring her boyfriend. When associated with Lin Xi, the word "boyfriend" took on a special significance.
Xue Yang extended his right hand toward Tony with a smile. "Hello, my na is Xue Yang."
Tony quickly shook his hand in return. "Young Master Xue, hello. I’d be delighted to style your hair. Please, follow ."
Tony led Xue Yang away to wash his hair, while Lin Xi sat down to wait patiently in the VIP room.
When Si Wen entered, she saw a stunningly beautiful girl with an almost ethereal delicacy, her eyes as tranquil as still water. Lin Xi looked up, her gaze eting Si Wen’s probing stare. Her first instinct was to look away, but she imdiately chided herself for it. She t Si Wen’s gaze again.
"Si Wen?"
"Lin Xi?"
They spoke at almost the exact sa ti.
"What are you doing here?" Si Wen asked curiously as she walked over. "Shouldn’t you be glued to Xue Yang’s side? Why are you here?"
Given how lovesick Lin Xi is, I’d have thought she’d want to be with Xue Yang every minute of the holiday. Could they have had a fight? When lovers quarrel, hair is often the first casualty. It seems to be an unwritten rule.
"Xue Yang and I ca to get our hair done together," Lin Xi explained.
As expected, the sa old love-struck girl.
"Then it looks like our appointnts overlap," Si Wen remarked.
"Why are you getting your hair done too?" Lin Xi asked, though she felt the question was a bit redundant as soon as it left her mouth.
"My hair is a bit frizzy, so I ca in for a treatnt." Unlike Lin Xi’s naturally silky hair, Si Wen’s was slightly wavy, a trait she had likely inherited from her mother. However, she preferred her hair straight, so she ca in regularly to have it smoothed.
"Oh, you can go first then. I’m in no rush," Lin Xi said. She could always co back during her next break.
"We’re both here, so let’s just do it together." They shared the sa stylist. They had gone through several before Tony, but he was the one they had stuck with the longest.
"Xue Yang and I have to go look at houses later. We don’t have enough ti."
Si Wen was surprised. "You’re finally going to build a new love nest?"
"Xue Yang said the house is a little small and he wants to move to a bigger one."
"Thank goodness you two finally realized that. Honestly, the house you’re living in now really doesn’t fit your status. By the way, where is Xue Yang?"
"He’s in the back getting his hair washed."
"Oh."
Utterly bored, Si Wen sat down beside Lin Xi. Suddenly, her gaze fell upon Xue Yang’s phone. "Is this Xue Yang’s phone?"
"Yes."
"Let borrow it to play a ga."
"Sure, go ahead."
Si Wen picked up the phone, opened King’s Ga, logged in, and joined a team match. Ten minutes later, she had won.
Playing on Xue Yang’s account is so much better. My own account feels like it’s cursed; I lose no matter how I play. Should I offer to buy this account from him?
Just then, soone started a video call to Xue Yang through WeChat. Si Wen was about to hand the phone to Lin Xi but realized she had gone into the back to find Xue Yang at so point. Si Wen let the call disconnect. I’ll just tell them about it later.
Taking advantage of the quiet mont, she started another match. Just as she was about to secure first blood against an enemy, the video call ca through again.
A voice bood from the ga: "FIRST BLOOD!"
Right, and I was the one who just got killed for it.
Furious and barely thinking, she jabbed the answer button. On the screen appeared a handso boy in a standard high school uniform.
"Bro... Huh? You’re not my brother..." Before Si Wen could reply, the boy spoke again. "And you’re not my sister-in-law!"
"Do you have any idea what you just made lose with that call?" Si Wen snapped.
"I don’t care what you lost! Why do you have my brother’s phone? Are you a thief?"
Si Wen was already livid about giving up first blood. Now this brat had the nerve to call her a thief right off the bat. She wasn’t about to take that. "You’re the thief! Your whole family are thieves!"
"You’re the one whose whole family are thieves! This is my brother’s phone!"
"So what if it’s his phone? It’s in my hands now, so it’s mine."
Xue Xing ca to a conclusion. "You really are a thief."
"I’m not a thief! Are you Xue Yang’s brother?" Si Wen finally grasped the key point.
Hearing how familiar she sounded with his brother, Xue Xing raised his voice. "Who... who exactly are you?"
Don’t tell my brother got a new girlfriend. This girl is pretty, with a baby face that makes her look like a pushover, but I still think my previous sister-in-law was prettier and a better match for him.
"I’m a friend of your brother’s."
"What kind of friend just takes my brother’s phone and even logs into his gaming account? You... don’t tell you’re the other woman?"
Xue Xing couldn’t believe what he was thinking. He’d always seen his brother as a devoted and steadfast person; once he chose soone, he would love only her for his entire life. He looked up to his brother as a role model, planning to be just as single-minded and devoted when he eventually found soone he liked. But now, reality had just slapped him in the face.
"???"
Si Wen’s eyes widened, and she stared at the boy on the screen, montarily speechless. ? The esteed young lady of the Si Family, mistaken for the other woman?
At that mont, Lin Xi ca out. Seeing Si Wen’s odd expression, she asked, "Si Wen, what’s wrong?"
Stunned, Si Wen turned to Lin Xi. "This little brat just called Xue Yang’s other woman!"
"???"
Lin Xi took the phone, her face appearing on the screen.
When the video feed switched to a stunningly beautiful face, Xue Xing recognized her instantly.
"Sis... Sister-in-law?"
