Wang Doudou had originally intended to give Ming Yue a warning, but that had only accelerated her departure from the Wang Family. "Oh? What exactly happened?" Upon hearing Lin Xi’s na, Lin Zhenhai imdiately set aside his work and listened patiently.
"It’s about Xue Yang. You should know that he was in a relationship that lasted for six years," Wang Doudou chose his words carefully.
"Yes, I’m aware of that," Lin Zhenhai nodded.
"Uncle Lin, I know it’s wrong to speak ill of soone behind their back, but I can’t just watch Xiao Xi go down the wrong path without saying anything. At the engagent party, I tried to persuade her to reconsider, but it seems Xue Yang has cast so kind of spell on her. She trusts him completely and refuses to hear a single bad word about him," Wang Doudou explained with sincere concern.
Hearing this, Lin Zhenhai, though disapproving of Wang Doudou’s thods, had to admit he was right about one thing. Xiao Xi wouldn’t tolerate anyone speaking ill of Xue Yang, not even her own father. That was certainly going too far.
"Although he appears to have cut off contact with that girl, as far as I know, she is now working at the Lin Corporation. I’ve also heard that she got the job with Xue Yang’s help. Uncle Lin, everything I’m telling you is true. If you don’t believe , you can have soone look into it."
Wang Doudou stopped there, choosing not to elaborate. He understood that overdoing it was as bad as not doing enough. Sotis, a subtle hint was more effective at getting soone’s attention.
After hanging up, Lin Zhenhai imdiately summoned Jiawen Li.
"Chairman, you called for ?" Jiawen Li asked respectfully after knocking on the door.
"Look into that girlfriend Xue Yang used to have."
"Xue Yang? Chairman, as far as I know, Xue Yang doesn’t have an ex-girlfriend," Jiawen Li responded, puzzled.
"I an the girl he was in love with for a long ti. Check on her current situation," Lin Zhenhai clarified.
"Of course, Chairman," Jiawen Li agreed and left the office.
Jiawen Li was highly efficient. Just two hours later, she brought Chen Ying’s file to Lin Zhenhai. Along with it were the details of Xue Yang’s prolonged and passionate pursuit of her.
Even she, a career woman, couldn’t help but be moved. As she read the file, she found herself wondering: could a girl really remain untouched after a man pursued her for six years? Jiawen Li had initially held a good impression of Xue Yang, but this incident made her feel she needed to reassess his character.
"Is this girl in the Finance Departnt?" Lin Zhenhai asked after reviewing the docunts.
Jiawen Li replied respectfully, "Yes, Chairman. She’s currently working under Director Zhong, and I hear she’s very capable. Earning praise from Director Zhong is a testant to her extraordinary professional skills."
Lin Zhenhai pondered this. He knew Lao Zhong. Every year, many talented individuals were assigned to his departnt, but he almost never heard him proactively praise anyone. This girl was a rare exception. In that respect, that kid Xue Yang certainly had a good eye.
"Chairman, this is the data they worked on with Professor Gong Lee before she joined the Lin Corporation," Jiawen Li said, placing a file in front of Lin Zhenhai.
He picked it up and examined it carefully. After finishing, Lin Zhenhai nodded repeatedly. "Indeed, very well done."
Then, Jiawen Li produced another docunt and placed it before him. "Chairman, this is the data she produced under Director Zhong."
"Oh?"
Lin Zhenhai raised an eyebrow, closed the file he was holding, set it aside, and opened the new one, scrutinizing it. When he finished, he placed the new file on top of the old one and leaned back in his chair, assuming a comfortable posture he often used to stretch when he was tired from work. It always proved effective.
"Jiawen, you’ve seen both sets of data, haven’t you? What are your thoughts?" Lin Zhenhai asked, turning to her.
"The data in this latest file is processed quite well," Jiawen Li stated truthfully, "but compared to the previous one, it’s missing many details." In front of Lin Zhenhai, she didn’t need to be evasive; she just had to speak the truth.
After speaking, she took out another file. "Chairman, this is the data Xue Yang produced."
Lin Zhenhai took it and glanced over it. Even with a cursory look, soone who dealt with data day in and day out could tell its quality instantly. Overall, Xue Yang’s data was far superior to the previous two sets. The data he had helped Chen Ying prepare wasn’t bad, but one could tell at a glance that it had been rushed.
"Have Chen Ying co see ."
"Yes, Chairman."
Jiawen Li responded and respectfully left the office.
