When Gong Li walked into the classroom and saw Xue Yang, she paused for a mont. Realizing the end of the sester was approaching, she understood. Without saying much more, she started the class.
During this class, Gong Li taught with exceptional detail, roughly reviewing almost all the key points of the entire sester.
Xue Yang listened intently, his pen flying across the page as if he were taking ticulous notes.
However, for Cui Hao, who hadn’t attended class in a long ti, the pace was obviously too fast. He tried to keep up, but his note-taking was a chaotic ss. Glancing at Xue Yang, he saw how focused the other boy was and couldn’t help but feel a twinge of envy.
Finally, when the bell rang, Cui Hao couldn’t wait to sidle up to Xue Yang.
"Godfather, could I copy your notes?" he asked, full of anticipation.
Without looking up, Xue Yang replied, "I don’t have any."
"What? How could you not have taken any notes?" Cui Hao asked in surprise.
"And why couldn’t I?"
Cui Hao pressed on curiously, "Then what were you doing, looking so serious the entire class, if you weren’t taking notes?"
Xue Yang looked up, gave him a faint glance, and retorted, "Who says being attentive in class ans you have to be taking notes?"
Cui Hao was left speechless. He looked down and saw that the papers spread out in front of Xue Yang weren’t notes at all but a series of rough sketches for his supermarket plans.
...
While other students were either paying attention or goofing off, he was thinking of ways to make money.
What could he even say? Only that Xue Yang deserved to get rich.
At that mont, Cai Keke ca over with her notebook. "Xue Yang," she said, "I have my notes here if you want to copy them."
Xue Yang coolly declined, "No, thank you."
Seeing his chance, Cui Hao quickly took the notebook from Cai Keke. "He doesn’t want it, so I’ll take it! Thanks, Classmate Cai." With that, he sat down and started catching up on his notes.
He had accidentally failed a course last sester, and he definitely couldn’t afford to fail again. He glanced up at Xue Yang, a thought popping into his head. Could this guy fail this sester, too? If he did... hehehe... He could already picture himself mocking Xue Yang. He’d known him for almost two years and hadn’t had another chance to tease him since they first t.
Cai Keke hadn’t intended to lend her notes to Cui Hao. Seeing his sly smile, she grew annoyed.
She shot Cui Hao a glare, her tone accusatory. "Cui Hao, what are you thinking? Why are you smirking like you’re up to no good?"
Cui Hao quickly wiped the smile off his face. "Oh, it’s nothing, nothing at all."
"If you don’t tell the truth, I’m taking my notes back," Cai Keke said, pretending to snatch the notebook away.
Cui Hao clutched the notebook as if it were his lifeline. "I’m just worried about a certain soone who rarely cos to class and doesn’t take notes. He might fail."
Cai Keke frowned. Looking straight at him, she said bluntly, "The expression on your face makes it look more like you’re hoping Xue Yang fails."
Cui Hao hastily waved his hands in denial. "I’m not! Don’t talk nonsense. Xue Yang’s my brother; of course I want him to pass."
"If he’s your brother, then why do you look so happy about it?"
Cai Keke’s question left Cui Hao flustered and embarrassed.
As they were arguing, a voice called out from the doorway, "Xue Yang, soone’s here for you." The voice captured everyone’s attention, and all eyes turned to the classroom entrance.
A girl stood there, wearing a daisy-print, Chanel-style dress. Her hair was tied in a high ponytail, and on her feet were black princess shoes adorned with bows. In her hand, she carried the latest handbag from Xiang Naier.
She exuded an air of pure, aloof elegance, like a daisy quietly blooming in the early autumn sun.
"She’s stunning."
"Like a fairy who’s descended to earth. So fresh and ethereal."
"Who is she?"
"You don’t know her? That’s Xue Yang’s girlfriend."
"Wow, that lucky guy. His girlfriends just get prettier and prettier."
"Don’t spread rumors! As far as I know, this is his first girlfriend!"
...
The students buzzed with discussion, their eyes fixed on the beautiful girl, their envy for Xue Yang plain to see.
The mont his na was called, Xue Yang glanced up, his gaze landing on the classroom entrance. When his eyes t the girl’s, the frosty indifference on his face seed to lt away like a glacier in the spring sun. The cold distance in his eyes dissolved, replaced by a warm smile that few people ever had the chance to see.
"Oh my god, his smile is so charming."
"I know, right? He usually smiles, but it always feels like sothing’s missing. Now I get it. He was never smiling at soone he truly wanted to see. Now that he’s looking at the person he loves, his smile is like the spring sun—warm and brilliant."
"My heart is lting. That smile is just srizing. I wish I could see it every day."
"Did you hear? They say she got into Yanbei University just for him. Apparently, her grades weren’t that good before."
"Really? That’s so romantic. Just looking at them, you can feel their connection. It makes you so envious."
"Yeah, love is full of hope and dreams. I hope they stay happy together and beco one of our school’s legendary couples."
The classroom was filled with the students’ murmurs, but all eyes were fixed on the happy couple at the door.
Xue Yang naturally took Lin Xi’s hand. "Class is over?"
Lin Xi smiled softly and nodded. "Mhm, no more classes this afternoon."
" neither," Xue Yang said.
"Let’s go get sothing to eat first, then head to the supermarket."
"Alright."
Side by side, the two walked out of the classroom, their laughter fading as they went. The other students’ gazes followed their departing figures, as if drawn by an invisible string, unable to look away for a long ti.
Cai Keke didn’t want to stare at the couple, but her eyes seed to have a will of their own, involuntarily following them down the hall.
Only after they had vanished around the corner did Cui Hao finally snap back to reality. He scratched his head in confusion. "Wait a minute. I thought we had another class this afternoon. Why did they leave?"
But the classroom entrance was already empty. Xue Yang and Lin Xi were long gone.
