As if afraid she would refuse, Leona Grant persisted, adding, "I only have one request. Take good care of yourself, okay?"

Annabelle Linton glanced at him and turned away, her face impassive. Her bloodless lips twitched. "From now on, please live your life well too."

With that, she started to walk forward, and Aaron Wyatt quickly steadied her.

Blood dripped onto the road, leaving a trail behind her.

Annabelle Linton’s steps were faltering. She took one more, then couldn’t move. She stopped, bending over, but did not faint.

Aaron Wyatt’s brows furrowed in alarm. He scooped her into his arms and started running, saying urgently, "Annabelle, hang in there! I’m taking you to the hospital right now!"

The people waiting outside had been on standby and rushed forward the mont they appeared.

"Stop the bleeding! Hurry, stop the bleeding!" The mont they were in the car, Aaron Wyatt frantically told the dical personnel to treat Annabelle Linton.

Annabelle Linton had arranged for this dical team to treat Aaron Wyatt’s injuries, but no one expected she would be the one needing them first.

Leona Grant just stood there, watching them disappear into the distance. A strong gust of wind blew past, as if it had swept his soul away with it.

An empty, panicked, aching feeling.

He couldn’t pinpoint the exact emotion, but in short, the sorrow was so intense it felt like he was going to die.

He stood there for a long ti. Finally, when his legs protested, he steeled himself and resolutely walked in the opposite direction.

He understood what Annabelle Linton had just said.

’The second half of that sentence was, "Don’t bother again," wasn’t it?’

Leona Grant lowered his gaze, his eyes cold and emotionless.

’Fine.’

’If this is your wish, then I’ll let you go. But you have to be happy.’

’If you’re ever unhappy, please, be sure to turn around and look for .’

’I’ll be waiting for you, no matter what.’

’The good you, the bad you... I want it all.’

’But you probably won’t look back... will you?’

’Heh, maybe it’s better that you’re gone.’

’Otherwise, I’d always be worried about when you might leave.’

’Annabelle Linton, I never thought the last thing I could do for you would be to walk out of your life.’

...

Leona Grant stayed in his room and slept for an entire day.

He did nothing else—he really just slept for a whole day.

He felt exhausted. He didn’t want to think or listen to anything; he just wanted to get so proper rest.

He ended up sleeping until the next day.

A heavy, oppressive atmosphere settled over the entire villa, all because of Leona Grant.

The servants all went about their duties with somber faces, looking anxious and unsettled.

After waking and washing up, Leona Grant went downstairs for breakfast.

A servant accidentally spilled so milk. Ordinarily, he would have shot a cold glare at them, but not today.

He didn’t say a word, continuing to eat his breakfast as if he hadn’t seen a thing.

After he finished eating, he went to the office. Everything was as it always was, yet sothing felt off.

He couldn’t explain it. Things were just... not right.

When Leona Grant arrived at the office, Chase reported the day’s schedule.

"At ten, you have a eting. At two-thirty, the chairman of Spencer Enterprises will be here to discuss a partnership. At five, there’s a charity conference where you’ll need to give a speech as the host. At seven, your friend, Prince Kevin of Country S, is passing through Celestia and plans to visit you. And at ten, you fly to The Sundered Lands Region for partnership talks. This business trip will last a little over two months, so you..."

Leona Grant paused, then said coolly, "Book the flight."

"Huh?" Chase was confused. "Sir, you don’t have to go. It’s a trip of over two months; they’ll understand if you don’t."

Leona Grant looked at him coldly, his face a blank mask. "Since when do I need you to make my decisions for ?"
