As he spoke, Grandfather chuckled and looked toward Leona Grant. While Leona’s face was mostly expressionless, his expression was much softer than usual.

Annabelle Linton always knew how to make Grandfather happy, and Leona had to admit there were good reasons for it.

Annabelle was incredibly devoted to Grandfather. Even Leona, his own grandson, felt he couldn’t compare.

Leona Grant replied agreeably, "Grandfather is right."

Vivian Yates wondered if it was just her imagination, but she had the distinct feeling the old man’s words were directed at her.

But so what?

’In the end, I’ll be the one to marry into the Grant Family!’

Annabelle smiled warmly and said to Grandfather, "I rember you often ntioning that you wanted a nice chess set. The Grant Family can certainly get the best sets for you, but they never seem to be quite to your liking. I thought that if I could get lucky and find the right one, it would make you very happy."

Upon hearing Annabelle’s words, Patrick Grant said excitedly, "Wonderful, wonderful! I love the chess set from you, Annabelle. I really love it."

It wasn’t that Annabelle’s gift was necessarily the best, but Patrick Grant was touched by her thoughtfulness.

"I’m glad you like it, Grandfather."

Annabelle then smiled and produced gifts for Mr. and Mrs. Grant.

For Mrs. Grant, Roxanne Jennings, there was an elegant silk scarf—neither too plain nor too garish. For Mr. Grant, there was a box of Longjing tea.

Roxanne Jennings unwrapped the package. When she saw it was a silk scarf, she couldn’t hide the delight in her eyes. She stroked it gently, her expression turning nostalgic.

In truth, Annabelle knew that Mrs. Grant collected silk scarves. When they were younger, Mr. Grant had always gifted them to her, and over ti, she had developed a love for them.

She even had a large room dedicated entirely to her collection, filled with countless expensive, classic, and limited-edition scarves. Besides Mr. Grant, no one knew about it. Annabelle had only found out by chance in her previous life.

The scarf Annabelle had chosen was a limited-edition Dior. As soone with a discerning eye, Mrs. Grant was naturally captivated.

Annabelle picked up the scarf and draped it around Roxanne Jennings’s neck, deftly tying it in a soft knot. Mrs. Grant was a beautiful, elegant woman, and the scarf perfectly matched her aura. Annabelle smiled and said with sincerity, "It’s beautiful, Mom."

Mrs. Grant and Mr. Grant exchanged a look and shared a sweet smile.

Mr. Grant opened his gift. He paused for a mont upon seeing the Longjing packaging, then his eyes lit up. "Tea? Why did you give tea, Annabelle?"

Annabelle smiled lightly. "Your stomach isn’t very strong, Dad. Mom had you quit drinking three years ago. Tea is gentle and nourishing, so drinking more of it will be good for your health."

Mr. Grant indeed had a weak stomach, and after Mrs. Grant made him quit drinking, he had grown fond of tea.

Mr. and Mrs. Grant exchanged a look, and he asked in surprise, "How did you know my stomach was weak?"

Vivian Yates’s eyes widened when she heard this!

’So that’s why Mrs. Grant frowned when she saw the liquor I’d prepared for him.’

’The man has a weak stomach and quit drinking, and I brought him liquor? Of course they’d be disgusted with !’

’And another thing, Annabelle Linton clearly knew. Why didn’t she tell ?’

’That bitch!’

At that mont, Annabelle knew exactly what was going through Vivian’s mind, but this was precisely the effect she had been aiming for.

Annabelle’s lips curved into a smile. "Before Leona and I were married, I ca to visit the Grant family ho. I saw Mom making you a congee that’s good for the stomach, and I figured it out then. Mom’s a great cook; red bean congee is the best for soothing the stomach."

Everyone loves a complint. Mrs. Grant laughed in surprise and said, "My, our Annabelle is quite observant, isn’t she?"
