The grandfather chuckled and said proudly, "What’s so surprising about that? Our Annabelle graduated from the world-renowned Royal Albion College of dicine. She’s co back from her studies abroad and is now the head of her hospital—she earned her doctorate at just twenty! She can diagnose any complex illness with a single glance. Annabelle has been taking care of my health for the past few years. The specialists say I’m even healthier than the average middle-aged man."

Annabelle looked at the way the family was treating her now, then thought back to how they treated her in her past life, and felt a pang of sorrow.

’Their attitudes were like night and day.’

"Other doctors can do that too, Grandpa. You’re exaggerating," Annabelle said humbly.

Leona Grant appeared indifferent on the surface, but inwardly, he was secretly stunned.

If he hadn’t seen the certificates in her office the last ti they t, he would have thought his grandfather was just joking.

Lunch was ready. Madam Chase, coming over to call everyone to the table, overheard the conversation and couldn’t help but chuckle as she chid in, "Young Madam, the Master isn’t exaggerating at all. Rember that massage chair you brought back last ti? The Master finds it so comfortable. Master Sanders from next door even asked him where he got it, and the Master said his granddaughter-in-law bought it for him. Everyone’s so envious of him!"

"That’s right! They don’t have a granddaughter-in-law as wonderful as mine! And Mr. Sutton even asked where I bought the massage chair. It was a gift from my granddaughter-in-law out of respect for , so I refused to tell him!" the grandfather bood with laughter, looking utterly blissful.

Annabelle smiled gently. "Grandpa, I grew up without the love of my parents, and I never had a grandfather of my own. So, I’ve always seen you as my real grandfather. I will continue to honor and care for you in the future."

And what Annabelle said was true.

In the two years since she had married into the family, the grandfather had never once mistreated her. So she had already decided: even if she and Leona Grant were to divorce, she would still care for Grandpa all the sa.

Patrick Grant said, deeply moved, "Grandpa is getting old now, and my son and daughter-in-law are always away. If you weren’t here to keep company, Grandpa would be terribly lonely. Ah, Annabelle, Grandpa is truly very fond of you, my dear granddaughter-in-law."

Hearing this, Mrs. Grant felt a pang of guilt. "Dad, I’m so sorry... Nathan and I have been so busy lately, we haven’t been able to spend much ti with you..."

Annabelle took Mrs. Grant’s hand and said reassuringly, "Mom, please don’t bla yourself. If it weren’t for you and Dad, where would the Grant Family be today? I’m not able to help much with all that, but you can rest assured that I’ll take good care of Grandpa. That’s one less thing for you to worry about."

Mrs. Grant, equally moved, looked at Annabelle and patted her hand.

’Annabelle is so sensible and considerate, and she always sees the bigger picture.’ The more Mrs. Grant looked at her daughter-in-law, the more pleased she was.

Vivian Yates watched the family’s interaction, feeling completely like an outsider.

In the past, whenever she visited the Grant Family, everyone but the old master had welcod her warmly. Now, however, everything had changed.

’And Annabelle, the one who used to be an outcast, was now the center of everyone’s attention.’

This stark contrast naturally deepened her hatred for Annabelle.

The group was just about to head to the dining room when they heard a servant at the door call out, "Miss, you’re back."

As soon as the servant spoke, a girl with short, flaxen-colored hair walked in.

She wore a trendy white sweatshirt and ripped jeans. At seventeen, her stylish clothes gave off a fashionable air.

Her eyes were cold, arrogant, and aloof, giving her the air of a rebellious teen who looked down on everyone.

Annabelle looked toward the door, and the girl’s gaze t hers. A corner of the girl’s mouth suddenly quirked up as she offered a rare, polite greeting. "Sister-in-law."
