"Otherwise, there’s a possibility of developing depression and a psychological disorder," the doctor answered.

Realizing the term ’psycho’ is often used as an insult, the doctor quickly clarified, "This is a genuine neurological disorder, the kind caused by disruptions in the hippocampus. I’m not exaggerating—this is extrely serious, and I need you to treat it that way. For many patients with depression or other ntal disorders, this loss of control triggered by psychological trauma is a common precursor. What you’re seeing now are the early, mild symptoms. You absolutely must monitor her closely. If it develops fully, it becos practically incurable."

Leona Grant was silent for a mont, then asked in a low voice, "Do you know what caused this trauma?"

"Psychological conditions are diagnosed based on the patient’s circumstances. I’ve reviewed the Young Madam’s basic situation, and if my analysis is correct, the trauma was likely emotional in nature..."

The doctor hesitated before continuing, "If I’m not mistaken, it probably has sothing to do with you, Mr. Grant..."

Leona Grant fell silent again.

When Annabelle Linton had lost control today, she had been screaming his na over and over. He was, of course, aware that the trauma was related to him.

But Leona Grant simply couldn’t understand what, exactly, he had done to her.

Because he had never cared, he knew nothing at all.

Leona Grant pressed his lips together. He didn’t know what to feel at the thought that he had ruined a perfectly fine woman and turned her into this.

Seeing Leona Grant fall silent, the doctor sighed and said, "Judging by the Young Madam’s state, she would likely resist recovering in the hospital. Mr. Grant, you can take her ho to recuperate, but she must not be put under any more strain."

Leona Grant nodded and took Annabelle Linton ho.

By the ti they arrived ho, the sky had grown completely dark.

Leona Grant looked at Annabelle Linton lying on the bed, her face pale and seemingly lifeless, and closed his eyes in frustration.

Ever since her transformation began this past month, he had discovered many things he had never known before.

He had already forgotten when it started, but in his mories, a little girl was always following him, her face holding a warm smile, quiet and peaceful, never causing a fuss.

He would subconsciously ignore her and sotis even lash out at her maliciously. Seeing the hurt look in her eyes would give him a perverse sense of satisfaction.

But a month ago, she changed.

She was no longer quiet, no longer peaceful and agreeable. Instead, her occasional cold remarks could drive a person mad with rage. She refused to swallow her pride and compromise, and even the smile on her face had been replaced by a perpetually icy expression.

And he knew this was all because of him.

He was the one who had destroyed her warmth. Bit by bit, he had worn away all her feelings for him until she beca numb.

He was the one who had seared one deep brand after another into her heart.

Feeling frustrated, Leona Grant went out onto the balcony to smoke. He had no idea what he was supposed to do.

Just as Leona Grant was stewing in his frustration, his phone suddenly rang.

It was his grandfather, telling him to co to the old estate, that he had sothing to discuss.

Leona Grant stubbed out his cigarette, took one last, deep look at Annabelle Linton, and after instructing Madam King to take good care of her, he drove to the old estate.

He didn’t know why his grandfather had summoned him so late, but he was certain his grandfather had sothing he needed to say.

As soon as he arrived at the Grant Estate, a servant told him to go to the study.

When Leona Grant entered the study, Patrick Grant was looking through a photo album, his face filled with nostalgia.

"Grandfather."

"Leona, you’re here. Co, sit over here." Patrick Grant beckoned for him to sit next to him.

Leona Grant obediently sat down beside Patrick Grant.
