’Soulless?’ Raith thought about the word for a few seconds. He didn’t know anything about it so he asked.
"What does does soulless an?"
The man, Hans, was quite shocked to see Raith knew nothing about the soulless. He expressed so wild respect for Raith’s cluelessness.
’...such an amazing person was able to defeat the shadow-borne and carry the legacy of The Divine Nightmare.’
His heart was filled with so much awe for Raith’s cluelessness. Not to say, they had never had a leader so handso like this. In his mory, divine nightmare did not asure up at all.
Divine Nightmare was a person like him, big and feral in his look and acts, a very crazy legend. Raith on the other... three C’s. Cool, calm and collected.
The perfect leader the rcenary union could ask for at a ti like this where civilization was hitting all the realms.
’I should get back to the original matter’ Helping himself to regain focus, Hans laid his eyes on Raith before he began to answer his questions.
Raith was already beginning to get bothered by the silence and the somber looking man who he had no idea was brooding about his past and the future to co.
"The soulless are creatures without souls. Because of that we cannot really die."
Raith raised a brow. "That makes no sense... explain."
Hans swallowed his spit and put words into his mouth.
"We can’t call ourselves humans but we have all the things humans have except a soul. Divine Nightmare helped us in discovering our origin, the only link we were able to find was tied to a demon called The Forger."
Raith paid keen attention on the words spoken by the rcenary reagent leader.
"This forger, we think he was the one that forged. However, we tried looking for him and found nothing of him, also no one knew about him and going to the ho of demons was not possible for is." He chuckled, "none of us knew the way"
’So soone just wakes up and decided to create a lot of soulless human then goes missing. The more I think about it, the more ssed up this world is. Everything is just insane!’
Raith rubbed his face with his palm and leaned to the wall. He was kind of a little bit tired but not too tired that he needed to go back to sleep.
His back just ached a little because he had been seated on his bed, back straight and leg crossed all the while.
"Is there anything you need again?" Hans asked.
Raith was silent for a few minutes, he raised his head and shook it.
"You can excuse for now. I will call you again when I need you."
With thar Hans, stood and bowed. He slowly paced out of the room, without turning his back to Raith. When he was about to leave, he looked at Raith’s eyes one more ti. So happy, then he went out and closed the door softly.
After he left, Raith kicked his legs into the air in a wild throw of frustration.
’Why?! Why?! Why do I have to be the one getting entangled with things I don’t want to get entangled with?!’
He punched his fist into the wall, creating a webbed crack. The whole place shuddered, flustered by his punch.
"Hieek"
Belatedly, realizing how large his strength Stat was, Raith felt sorry for the wall and shook the its dust off his hand by just shaking it.
What was Thard - Harl’s play in all of these things. He obviously would know about Divine Nightmare and the soulless since he had lived over five hundred years old.
’Did he intentionally bring here...?’
If so, for what? To claim the legacy of Divine Nightmare or kill the dreadsoul and get its core for him. Raith was confused, thinking about it was making him even mote confused.
If Thard - Harl really needed the core badly, he could do it on his own. But he didn’t go on his on.
’Instead he sent ...’
Raith sohow suspected that Thard - Harl wasn’t the type to leave an important job into his hands. He was sure Thard - Harl had probably thrown him into the place to either grow or die. Indifferent to whichever outco he would co out with.
He was a very cold asura really, thinking about it made Raith burn with more hatred for him.
However, those hard drills in the desolate plain has been what helped him in the battle with the shadow-borne. Raith didn’t know if he would have been able to exhibit neofut on such level if it wasn’t that he had been diligent to those drills for a long ti.
It was like everything Thard - Harl took him through was for that single mont. All for the sake of neofut. The way his jdoy responded... his instinct coming in a perfect line with the sequential flow of the battle field.
It was exhilarating, he wanted to feel it again.
However, there were more pressing matters. The issue with the soulless, being their leader or what-not. The original reason why he and Thard - Harl were here.
And Greed had eaten the soul core that was supposed to belong to a god.
Well, that part didn’t make him angry anymore. Since he didn’t want to get entangled with any god. He would just feed so lie to Thard - Harl. No matter what the asura suspected, it wasn’t like the core was going to fall out soday.
He was more concerned about the effect of the core on greed itself.
’Is it even okay for one of the seven deadly sin to consu things like that?’
Raith dove into his soul plane to see the damned incarnate of avarice.
It took him a few minutes to find Greed, since it was almost blending with the shadow hanging at the corner.
’Is it or is the darkness moving...’
Before they just stood there motionless, but now the darkness was like a fog that was being pressed to the corner and continually flowed.
Raith narrowed his eyes, inspecting them a little bit more then went on to et Greed.
As expected, the sin had changed again. It was larger in size, it’s eyes was so white and a sinister grin was on its face.
The grin widened as Raith ca closer to it. But it didn’t show any other difference, maybe a slight movent or any other changes in its look. There was nothing.
Raith was sought of disappointed. He had expect that there was going to be a massive boost in its growth from absorbing a core of the highest grade.
It did move up my sixty levels.
Raith imagined if he was the one that actually absorbed the core. Does that an he would have gained sixty levels. He bit his inner lips, regretting for a mont that he decided to assimilate completely with the sin of greed.
Even the assimilation. There was no advantage evidently seen of it... well, it did play a great role in his fight with the monk golem.
But after the seed blood, all those subskill set were gone. N where to be found!
Raith hissed and ca out of his soul plane. Now he had sothing to do. He would et with the soulless and ask them to find Thard - Harl for him.
’No... wait...’ Raith paused.
Thard - Harl could think he was dead after he didn’t make it out.
’Perhaps we shouldn’t bother the poor guy and I can just do this on my own. I have a bunch of unkillable humans who are willing to submit themselves to .’
A grin ford over Raith’s face. This was going to be good!
