The darkness of the sky was slowly looming forward, it was different from what Raith would usually see on earth. The descending of the sun beyond the horizon, a beautiful display of orange hue blending in and out of the clouds, drenching it in an aesthetic radiance. Then slowly a fading away into absolute darkness.
But on this dinsion of plane, it seed like the darkness was the one chasing away the night. From the viewpoint of the balcony where Raith stood, it was like a thick fog of the night was riding on storms shrouding the light of the sky in its totality.
In a few more minutes, everything was dark. Pitch dark that Raith had difficulty seeing through. It was so sudden and uncalled for, not the usual night ti he was used to at all.
Raith looked at the ground below him. Lamps illuminated imdiately the darkness shrouded the whole place, his vision could once again pierce through this and that.
He looked into forest, taking in the gusage of the humongous trees and enjoying the gentle breeze that caressed his cheek, making his whole body shrill in cold comfort.
Hans ca to him a minute later.
"What do you need us to do?"
Raith looked at him but didn’t completely turn his head, he focused back on the forest afterwards.
"You don’t need to do anything. Let him co, I’ll make it work sohow?"
Hans raised his head, his eyes were glimring with so much adoration towards the back of the man that stood before him.
To him Raith sounded with so much confidence and assurance.
’Of course, what more do you expect from the one that fulfilled Divine Nightmare’s expectation.’
Raith is a leader selected for them by fate. The Divine Nightmare had particularly said fate would cowardly lead a man to them, this man would defeat the shadow Bourne. He told them never to let him out of their sight and that is whom they should serve and follow.
When Divine Nightmare speaks, almost all of them don’t understand why he does. Sotis, they’ve suspected him of being able to see the future but he had by himself denied such suspicions and told them he isn’t that amazing.
But in everything he always manages to say, there was always boundless sotis incomprehensible wisdom. Just like now...
Hans felt he was on the journey to discovering the hidden wisdom of who this man is and why Divine Nightmare advised them to follow him at all cost.
He was delighted and grateful that this was finally happening. After so long a wait, sothing was finally going to change in their lives.
"I have a question for you Hans."
"Yes sir... ask."
Raith lingered then asked.
"Do you know the way to earth?"
Hans froze, he was quite surprised at the question. A way back to earth?
He lowered his eyes, sullen.
"I don’t think so. That dinsion is locked away from the universe of dinsions itself, only a tear in space can lead one there..."
He paused but there was more he wanted to say.
Raith turned to look at him. Hans looked like he was fighting with sothing in his head.
"There is sothing else right?"
He frowned darkly.
"There is another way that I’ve heard of. But it is incredibly hard and makes no sense."
Raith tilted his head a little.
"Say it."
The gaunt man hesitated, he looked at Raith’s unwavering stare and finally gave in.
"Felfhiem."
Raith’s brow arched up.
"What?"
"Felfhiem. The realm of the demons."
"Of course!" Raith exclaid, even with his arms.
How could he have forgotten, he didn’t know why but there was a gate that led him out of Felfhiem and into another random gate then into earth.
Which ans if he found his way back to felfhiem, he should be able to find his way back to earth. If he is lucky, back at Korea.
This was a very good news. Sothing big for him.
Raith wore a great smile, his face was full of optimistic brightness.
Now, he had a reason to survive that battle. He must.
He tapped Hans soldier happily.
"My friend. We will defeat the sky lord and go to Felfhiem."
For a mont Hans let away a hearty smile however the next mont, that smile of his faded.
"Felfhiem?!"
He exclaid.
"Yes. Felfhiem."
Raith pressed with a reassuring smile.
"We can’t go to Felfhiem."
"Says who?"
Raith glowered at him.
"Well..."
He tried to talk but nothing ca at the first try, luckily he was still able to get his words right.
"Felfhiem is a ho to fiends and demons. Those things are on a different league than anything we have ever seen."
Raith nodded agreeably.
"Trust . More than anyone else, I know that truth."
"Well. If so, why are you going still?"
Hans asked with disbelief heavy on his face. A place that was very dangerous, common sense was not applicable to a place like that and he was going to go regardless.
"Well, because I want to go ho. This might be my only chance, I can’t afford to lose it. Just like how we have no choice but to fight the sky lord. We really have no choice but to go to Felfhiem."
Raith looked at Hans, when he saw that the show of fear on the man’s face did not look like it would disappear any soon, he decided to get dubious with things.
"Well, if you feel you can do it. You can just go ahead and beco Sky lord’s lackey and forget about becoming your leader."
Hans suddenly jacked out, strapping fierce resolve on his face.
"No! No! We will go to Felfhiem!"
’Interesting. I didn’t actually expect that to work’
Raith chuckled and patted his broad shoulder as he walked inside.
Hans stayed outside for the next few seconds, staring the sky that was a pitch layer of darkness, no stars, no moon. Just an empty ocean of darkness that was constantly threatening to engulf everything beneath it.
Well not like it would... yet.
