"Are you serious right now? Fight the Sky lord? Hell, I don’t even know who the sky lord is. Why will I fight the sky lord?!"
Raith threw a series of flustered gesture, frowning at Hans at the end of it. The perfect plan he had etched was to live peacefully without any trouble from anywhere, not alerting Thard - Harl and sohow finding his way back ho to Earth.
But right now, these bunch of lifeless living have gone ahead to ruin his plan. Raith felt like beating the hell out of Hans. In fact he stared at him and almost spilled so bloodlust.
Hans quickly avoided Raith’s intense gaze. He lowered his head and mumbled dejectedly.
"I’m sorry."
Like that was going to fix anything. Raith raised his head and covered his face with his palm.
’What do I do? What do I do?’
There was nothing to do?
’Do I run?’
That was not an option. Run to where? To whom?
The only choice he had was to truly fight. Once the sky lord ca here, he would settle everything as silently as he could. Now, to be able to ascertain himself victory in the match, he needed to know this guy.
He looked at Hans.
"Do you at least know him?"
Hans slowly raised his head as Raith asked the second question.
... "can you feel in?"
He nodded his head rigorously, delighted that he could soway make it up to Raith. Or even more delighted that Raith has accepted the duel.
It could be seen on the faces of the rest of the soulless that were around the blacksmith shop too. The wore a smile and tapped each other joyfully.
Their gestures by the way only annoyed Raith. Cause, what the hell are they really happy for. He was going to be jeopardizing his peace because of them.
He shook his head then stood up.
"Follow and start talking imdiately."
Hans quickly followed Raith as he turned away from the small crowd that gathered around. Just as he left, they began to disperse and the blacksmiths continued their work.
Hans moved closer to Raith as they walked the path back to the main building. Several buildings of course made by woods were scattered around the compound of hideout.
Many of which were abode to the soulless and their families.
Families wasn’t literal, soulless do not have the ability to reproduce so yes there were very few humans who lived here. If Raith rembered well, Shepe Farngs, Thard - Harl had ntioned that their bounty was brought up in this hideout.
So, it wouldn’t be out of place to assu that the soulless adopted human kids or kids of other races and trained them as their own.
Raith could guess that was the case for the few children he noticed around. Soon, they were at the main building.
The interiors of course were nothing to boast about, it looked like what a dieval bandit hideout will look like, with lots of monster hides decorated the wall, collections of crude horns displayed hanging down from the ceiling like trophies.
Raith settled on the makeshift couch, with a fur monster skin, feeling the itchiness against his skin but then there was no where better he could choose. It was a bit manageable.
Not like Hans was going to let him sit on the floor. The gaunt man took a stool and brought it close to Raith, he sat down and began.
"You have said you don’t know much about the player world so I will just explain a little bit."
He paused, readily knowing he won’t be taking another one for a long while, he started.
"The players around here are very important set of people. What makes them important is their power and might. Plust the fact that they act on the authority of the divine creatures, as there are the good ones, there are also the bad ones. And honestly, I’d admit that there are more of the bad ones than the good ones. Because of that, they are not always openly accepted all places around the dinsion."
He looked into Raith’s eyes, his voice beca sowhat more serious.
"They can do and undo. They carry out task on behalf of their sponsors, very very terrifying tasks. A player alone can obliterate a universe for its sponsor, it all depends on what their sponsor wants."
Raith stopped him with a raised hand.
"Wait..."
Hans patiently paused and waited, paying rapt attention as Raith spoke.
"...have there ever been any sponsor that asked a player to destroy a dinsion?"
Hans imdiately answered:
"Well, yes."
The response shocked Raith.
"Really?"
"Yes. That lunatic Ethrion."
Raith squinted his eyes.
"I don’t understand. Destroying dinsion should be sothing off the gas for them isn’t it?"
Hans shook his head with a slight frown.
"For the players. There is nothing off the gas, I don’t know how the rules have transcended to be. But it is the reason why every celestial existence strife to get a player that would sponsor..."
"... And pour their all making sure the player grows to beco strong."
He paused, taking a tensed breath to continue as he was getting to the heart of his discuss.
"For the sky lord. His sponsor is the World Shaper."
Raith made a slight frown.
’That sounds very familiar’
It seed he was this close to rembering but the words kept going far away, in a whirlwind of thought he pulled it out with a quick pull.
"A primordial! Isn’t that guy a primordial?!"
Hans nodded. Raith might have been joyous about rembering but Hans on the other hand had a very grim expression on his face.
... an expression that caused Raith to awkwardly seat his ass back down.
"Is sothing wrong?"
"It’s a primordial we are talking about. Everything is wrong... the power ratio of a player being sponsored by primordial is far... very far from a player being sponsored by a god and not to say that sky lord is not just one the top hundred chart... he is the tenth most strongest player."
"Wait wait wait. You an he is the tenth of the most strongest ten?"
Hans nodded his head carefully. Behind his black eyes were hidden subtle sparks of fear.
Seeing the expression on his face, Raith could tell that this guy was a bad news. Maybe he was unlike anybody he bad ever fought.
But he also had not remained the sa all this while. He had grown stronger, especially in the past thirteen days.
Still the tenth player on the multidinsional rankings.
’Once again... damnit! I said I didn’t want to get involved with anyone!’
