According to Hans and the bounty hunting cohort, going to Felfhiem was not as daunting as it may have sounded to any regular ears.
But if the right things are not put in place, it could be as dangerous as trying to go to the celestial realm.
Which was so hard that it was impossible.
Well, for Raith all they said sounded like so jargons he was not ready to listen to.
At the very least their explanation of the way forward made sense.
Outside earth, traveling between dinsions was sothing that was common in different worlds.
In order for people to easily transport between words, three gateways are erected on each dinsion. At the center, on the south pole and north pole.
Of course, any one of these gateways depending on which location they were closer to.
And for Raith and his cohort of soulless humans, they were heading to the gateway in the center... which was the closes gateway to them.
It still would take them fourteen days of traveling but it was better than one hundred and fifty-four days or ninety-seven days.
However, it also had its risks... Hans described it as ’a perfect storm’
What Raith did not understand was why. Practically, they had no choice but to head for the one closest to them but knowing fully well that they’d be walking into a storm.
One of the things that baffled him the most was the state of his cohort even after this fact was delved deeper into their minds.
Of course, except Reeves who would stop acting all grump and just hid his face under the cover of a blue scarf, revealing only the deep eyes a seasoned warrior.
They rode on a carriage that was attached to Jackal’s beast of burden, the massive bear-like creature they take on bounty hunting mission.
Raith yawned as the carriage slowly ca to a stop in front of a bamboo built in.
Even though the place was built with green bamboo trees, it’s structure was intricate and inspiring. Blending seamless to produce a state-of-art edifice.
Well, as far as state-of-art in these worlds goes...
They hopped down and entered the bamboo built inn.
As compared to the exterior, the interior was jaw-dropping: even though it was dimly lit, the warm brown and green colors prevailed arrogantly, creating a natural and inviting ambience.
The centerpiece of the interior was a large, semicircular reception desk made of polished wood, adorned with a geotric emblem.
Behind the desk, the wall was decorated with more wooden paneling and rectangular patterns, giving it a stylish yet rustic feel.
To the left and right of the reception area, staircases led up to what the second level of the building. The staircases were made of wood and have decorative railings that complent the overall design.
The floor was covered in a patterned stone, adding texture and visual interest to the space.
Several wooden benches and tables are scattered around the lobby, providing seating areas for guests.
The entire space was illuminated by hanging lantern-style lights, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
There were also potted plants placed strategically around the space, bringing in natural elents and adding a touch of greenery.
Imdiately they entered, a dozing lady, seated behind the semicircular desk jolted up and bowed, almost shouting:
"Welco to Bamboo Inn."
’So straightforward... I can tell why that’s the na already!’
Hans stopped in front of Raith and bowed slightly, saying:
"Allow to settle this..."
Raith looked at him for a second.
"Sure..."
He said and watched Hans walked towards the center desk while the rest of them settled on the wooden benches, discussing amongst each other.
Well, Raith just observed them talk and at several instances looked at Hans as he spoke to thr receptionist.
A while later, Hans ca to et them, bowing to Raith before taking a seat next to him.
Theta pouted her mouth, she had been eyeing that seat for a while now but was too skeptical to make a move.
"One room for a night is five Srular"
Raith raised a brow.
"Srular is the currency that is spent here in this kingdom."
"We are in a kingdom already? How co no one told that?" Raith looked around.
All of them avoided his gaze... well except Othorman... you know why.
Hans chuckled, scratching his head and said:
"I’m sorry, we were all fast asleep."
Othorman pointed to his blindfolded eyes.
"And... I can’t see, rember."
"Ah! How nice of you to use your blindness as an excuse!" Nata scrunched her face together, exuding cuteness at its peak.
Jackal put his hand on his mouth, cautioning her.
"Shuu shuuu Nata, you’re a making noise."
She shot a piercing death glare at him, making him go mute imdiately.
"So, this Sralar is the currency that is spent in this kingdom which is?"
"The kingdom of Srelar"
Raith narrowed his eyes at Othorman who responded with a smile on his face...
"Wipe that smirk off your face, it’s annoying"
"Indeed sir" His lips straightened.
"One Srelar is equal to one coppel gold coin which is generally accepted world wide." Hans inputed.
"Oh great, so that accept coppel gold coins too?"
"Yes they do... since it’s an interdinsional currency" he responded.
"Fine... how many rooms will we be taking?"
"The rest of us can take two to a room while you take a grand room to yourself."
Raith agreed and closed his eyes for a mont, sinking into his soul plane, as he opened his eyes, a bag of coins appeared in his hands.
"This is the last of what I have... I’ll be borrowing you guys through this journey, think of how you can pay back in tenfold."
Reeves frowned and slamd the table as he shot up.
"What?!! Borrow us? This is a journey that you insisted on going... so why exactly should you be borrowing us money?!"
Raith scratched his head, ’damn, did I do that out of habit... it’d be sad to lost all that gold coins, I just wanted to make sure there’s a way I can get it back if I want to... did I overdo it’
As he opened his mouth to talk, Othorman’s voice resounded:
"Sit. Reeves."
Reeves looked down beside him.
"What?"
"I said... sit." Othorman repeated... coldly.
Reeves after scowling at Raith for a couple of seconds finally sat down in silence.
Othorman smiled again at Raith and stated:
"You don’t have to worry about spending anything Master. It’s our honor that you have decided to lead us. I think an act of service also includes things such as this one"
Suddenly, Othorman’s reply made Raith feel disgusted with himself.
Ever since completely assimilating with the sin of greed, his level of avarice had flown through the roof.
And worse part was that, he had no control over it... it’d be useless to try using discipline to curb his greed... not when he was the ruler of that very sin and housed its manifestation.
He nodded and closed his eyes, the bag disappearing his eyes.
"Okay, in that case at least allow to use a room with one of you... that way I can feel a bit better"
Othorman smiled, "No... you are our leader and should be treated as such"
Raith squinted his eyes at him.
’You are just going to deliberately make feel like a piece of shit, aren’t you... this cunning blind.’
Othorman smiled effortless as he brought out a bag of coins then handed it to Hans.
"I think you should be in charge of everything that involves finance throughout this journey"
"Hey??? Why can’t it be ?!!" Nata complained.
"Shut up! You are just going to spend it all on booze!!"
"Seriously! That one ti... that one ti because I spent all out earning and you guys won’t let it go?"
Reeves eyes were almost peeling with rage.
"One ti???"
Jackal shook his head, folding his arms, he added:
"It was never a one ti thing Nata... even you know it. We’ve caught you so many tis before and after that ti."
She shrank, lowering her eyed dejectedly.
"Is that so..."
’What a strange group’ though Raith as he observed all of them.
Hans stood up and went to the receptionist while their bicker against Nata’s drinking habit continued.
A while later, he ca back with three keys.
All of their attention shifted to him as he dropped the keys on the table and announced:
"They only have three rooms left?"
"Other rooms have been occupied?"
Hans nodded, "Alma said other seven rooms have been occupied by important guests. It seems the guests are also the reason why this place is void of drunkards..."
"That’s right... whether its day or night there’s no difference, this place is always full since they sell really nice wines."
All of them shifted their eyes to Nata.
She blinked and forced out a wide smile.
"It was a guess, a very dense guess as at that."
