"Not zombies, just one zombie. It’s scary, please don’t open that door otherwise all of us will be done for." One man collected his courage to speak after the group of people looked at each other for a while.
However, one could feel the fear in his trembling voice. It looked like whatever was inside that warehouse had scared them silly.
"The last ti you were over fifty people, did the zombie inside kill the others?" Lu Zhen asked this ti as he placed his ear against the door to listen to any movent from the other side.
"Yes. We thought that we could explore other places since you had killed all the zombies in the mall. We didn’t expect a strong zombie with superpowers to be hiding inside the warehouse.
When we opened the door, it charged out and killed three people in one go. It took us two hours of fighting and cost us twelve lives to finally drive it back into the warehouse and lock it again." The sa man from earlier explained again.
"We wanted to leave after that, but we didn’t expect that more zombies had surrounded the mall again. We had no choice but to continue staying here." With tears pouring down his face, the man added with regret evident in his voice.
Leng Pan had no sympathy for these types of people. They had given them a chance the last ti. When they cleared the zombies, they could have left with a good number of supplies and gone ho, but they were too greedy for the supplies in the supermarket.
They couldn’t bla anyone for their ordeal except for themselves.
"What superpower does that zombie have?" Lu Zhen asked again as he stepped away from the door.
He hadn’t heard any movent inside but he wasn’t fooled by the silence. Zombies that had sowhat advanced could think for themselves, albeit their thinking capacity being that of a three-year-old child.
Nevertheless, a three-year-old child still knew how to hide when they didn’t want to be found. Therefore, he wouldn’t be surprised if the zombie was hiding and waiting for him to open the door so that it could pounce on him.
He was aware that just as they found crystal cores a nourishnt for their superpowers, zombies must find humans with superpowers irresistible as well. Especially if the superpower was of a high level.
"It was shooting fire from its hands. Look at the shelves near the door, that were all burnt during our fight.
We were lucky that there were fire extinguishers in the supermarket, otherwise, we would have burnt down here." Another person, this ti a woman spoke.
Both Leng Pan and Lu Zhen had noticed the burn marks around the supermarket but they didn’t take it to heart. They had thought that it was a cooking accident, but now it looked like they had thought too simply.
"All right, everybody, move back. Don’t co closer and get hurt by mistake." Leng Pan advised as she started to set up a thick wall of purification mist around the door.
If the zombie was as strong as it was claid to be, then a thin layer of mist might not be enough to stop it, after all the stronger the enemy, the more resistance they would have to her attacks. Even against the purification mist.
She didn’t want to be complacent and make a mistake that could cost her life or those of others.
Upon seeing his wife take action, Lu Zhen also added another layer of a crimson-purple fire wall outside the purification mist barrier.
In this way, even if the zombie survived the purification mist, it would definitely turn into ashes as soon as it touched the fire wall.
When Lu Zhen was setting up the wall, the entire supermarket got so hot that the people inside felt as if their skin was about to be peeled off.
Luckily, he quickly controlled the area where the heat should concentrate and the others felt relieved.
Nevertheless, they understood from that small episode that he wasn’t soone to be ssed with.
His superpower could lt their flesh and bones within a mont.
Because of their tacit understanding and the amount of practice they had done together, the superpower attacks of the couple could not hurt each other.
Thus, no matter how hot Lu Zhen’s fire was, it didn’t affect Leng Pan and the sa was the case for Leng Pan’s purification mist or water ability.
Hence, once they had set up the trap, Lu Zhen went forward to the door and opened it abruptly then quickly returned outside the barrier.
Just as he had expected, the zombie was hiding near the door and waiting for it to be opened so that it could co out and eat.
It had been a long ti since it had a al. It was extrely uncomfortable getting locked up in the warehouse while food was just on the other side of the door yet it couldn’t eat.
The scent of living humans and the warm blood running through their bodies was a great temptation to the zombie and slling it everyday but being unable to eat and drink the blood was torture.
Now that it was free, the zombie didn’t even think about traps and rushed out directly. It’s only thought was of eating to its fill.
What was more was that it could sll two humans with extrely powerful superpowers. They would be the best nourishnt for it, hence, it didn’t stop to think.
When the zombie ca out running, it rushed directly into the purification mist. When the mist touched its rotten skin, the purification process began and the zombie let out a deafening roar that would literally raise the dead from their graves.
The zombie stopped running and started staggering around as it thrushed to try and stop the pain.
One could see the flesh lting and turning into mist as well. As the zombie roared and squird around it passed through the mist and soon, the pain of purification turned into a burning pain as Lu Zhen’s fire started to burn the remaining flesh and bones.
In a couple of minutes, only a black skeleton was burning to ashes on the ground.
