"By the way, how co the others haven’t co out after all this ti? If they found out about what we talked about, things might beco complicated." Vortex finally rembered the other teammates.
Only now did Silk think about Blaze and the others who were still in the apartnt.
They looked at each other and turned to look towards the bedrooms. There was still no movent.
"I don’t think those two are stupid enough to let others hear us. I am guessing they did sothing to prevent our conversation from leaking." Silk sounded more assured than he felt.
Just as they were wondering what to do if the others happened to hear them, the door to Blaze’s room opened.
They turned to look at him only to see him look at them too for a while until they thought that they had been exposed.
Just as Vortex was about to speak, he heard Blaze ask first, "Have you guys been sitting here all this ti looking at each other without speaking?"
Blaze had a genuinely curious expression on his face, which ant that he wasn’t joking.
The two n on the sofa in the living room looked at each other in surprise.
"What do you an? Weren’t we just discussing how to identify the person with the teorite just now?" Silk asked while observing Blaze to see if he was just testing them.
The reason he gave such an excuse was first to throw him off if he heard sothing about the teorite by accident, and also find out if he was just asking that question to test them.
"Then we’re you guys whispering so low that it felt like the house has beco insulated and soundproof?" Blaze wondered out loud, which surprised the two soldiers.
They looked at each other and heaved a barely noticeable sigh. It looked like the two who had left not long ago did sothing to make sure that their conversation wasn’t leaked.
So, they didn’t have to worry about their commander finding out about their thoughts.
"Well, we couldn’t shout about it. What if soone outside heard us? That would bring a lot of trouble. By the way, when should we make a move to find the real person with the teorite?
Most of the people in this place have already left for the safe base." Vortex also chid in and changed the subject while at it.
He didn’t want to continue the topic and end up slipping.
"Can you still feel the energy signature left by the void-pulse of the space being used?" Raze had appeared behind Blaze at so point and asked this question.
"No, since we got here and identified the building, it’s like that person hasn’t used the space superpower again. There haven’t been any fluctuations in space, so I can’t figure out the specific person." Vortex now knew who had the teorite, but he had to pretend not to know and also throw the others off.
"So many people have left these two days. Do you think that person has left? And if they have, is this a good or a bad thing?" Silk asked with a heavy expression.
In fact, even though he knew who had the teorite, he still had reservations. What if those two ca to see them so that they could take in the firepower and protect the real person who had the teorite?
This had not been eliminated from the number of reasons why soone who was completely safe in hiding ca out on their own to put a target on their backs.
Even though he didn’t think that Lu Zhen would do sothing so unrewarding, Silk still felt that until they really ford an alliance and he saw the teorite, then he wouldn’t be too trusting.
However, he also wasn’t going to divulge what they had just talked about to the rest. He could not risk Commander Qui finding out, especially if he really was involved in human experints.
While they talked about what action to take, Leng Pan and Lu Zhen went back to their apartnt leisurely.
"Do you think they will keep what we just talked about to themselves?" Leng Pan was still skeptical about the decision they made.
However, since the deed was already done, there was no need to worry about such things, she could only lant about it to her husband.
"I trust our judgent. I don’t think those two would risk more people dying just because of doubts.
They will co to us soon and accept our offer. However, we need to think about whether to really let them go back to the base." Lu Zhen replied patiently to his wife as they climbed the stairs in their building.
"Why not let them go back?" Leng Pan didn’t understand this.
Weren’t they recruiting them to turn them into spies next to the commander? Why would they not let them go then?
"I have a feeling that they are too righteous and might take unnecessary risks once they go back. Especially since they know that there is an experint lab within the grounds of the military base.
If they start snooping around and they are caught, they might not sell us out, but they will definitely not survive.
And if they are not given a chance to contact us so that we can go and save them, they might die before we even realize what was happening." Lu Zhen was quite good at reading people and he could tell that the two soldiers would not ignore the prospect of citizens suffering in a lab sowhere.
They will take action and that might lead to death.
Leng Pan thought about it and felt that he was right. Those two soldiers were too honest. In that case, it was better not to let them go back to the base.
"Then we should hope that Ouyang Jin’s man can co out before these guys go back to the base. If he is not out by then, things might beco more complicated." Leng Pan sighed with a heavy heart.
She hoped that the people in that lab could be saved.
