So, he could keep the boat balanced by running to whatever spot needed stabilizing.

Just as they prepared for the second wave of attack, the boat jolted upward and almost overturned.

The creatures had attacked from below.

"Not truly controlling the water flow, more like manipulating its movent." Leng Pan, who was a water ability user and could feel the changes in the water explained.
