I chuckled and told Ares what we were thinking.

Rion nodded. I agreed only because I honestly didn’t have a better idea of how this would work. As if there were any instructions in the Book of Keys. There were also no written instructions in the materials from Rion’s clan elders, so he wasn’t certain either.

"The wards are still present," I heard Ares say, but I couldn’t care less about the wards at this mont.

Raye was in the main hall. Her eyes widened when she saw Vivien in my arms.

I cut her off. "Where’s Keigan?"

"He’s in the infirmary."

Ares went next to Raye. "What happened? Why did you send a signal?"

"The wards aboveground have been broken. We are under attack!"

I frowned, anger rising, but I didn’t listen to anything else Raye said. I went straight to the infirmary in the western part of the castle.

I found Keigan inside, and he imdiately led to a bed.

"Can you check on her? She just suddenly collapsed." I ran my fingers through my hair, the anxiety was making my heart beat too fast.

Keigan checked Vivien’s body and her vitality using his power as a healer.

"She seems fine, as if she’s just sleeping, but..." Keigan paused, a frown forming on his face.

"But what?"

Keigan hesitated, but he knew he had to tell no matter what it was. "But her body feels empty. It appears her soul has left her body..."

My eyes widened.

"How can we wake her up? Will she be alright?"
