Damon arrived in Niera City without any issues. He looked around and saw that the city had finally returned to its sowhat normal state. It was no longer filled with divine and holy players in all nooks and corners. All sorts of players briskly walked about in the streets, no doubt heading to the local alchemist.
Damon quickly pulled up his quest screen and noticed that the na of the alchemist had now changed. It was soone from Niera City. The rest of the quest details were pretty much the sa, except now he had to head over to this new guy and gain his favorability.
In fact, Damon had already guessed that sothing like this was going to happen. It was a worldwide quest after all. They couldn’t simply limit it to one alchemist. This also told him another thing. The system was very keen on maintaining the balance and repairing what was lost.
This actually made him think of another thing. The soul strength quest wasn’t probably the only freebie the system was throwing at the players. Damon could still vividly rember the demon’s words. He was definitely sure it was coming back. Surely, the system should also know that.
Even if that wasn’t the case, the effective ti for this training phase has definitely been cut short. That was an irrefutable fact. So the system definitely was handing out more freebies on the side. Now the question was who was going to be smart enough to find these handouts and grab them.
If Damon wanted to stay ahead, if he wanted to face what was coming, he had to find them before anyone else did. This was a short-term special bonus, and there was no telling what the system could possibly be throwing at him.
It could even be sothing as grand as a legendary item. No matter what, he needed to grab it. He needed every advantage he could get his hands on to stand against the so-called blessed ones.
And Damon decided that the best place to start this search was with his class hall. He had a very good reputation, and he should be able to get sothing out of Varnyx’s mouth, especially with Kate and Mark already there.
He hurriedly slipped into one of the side alleys and soon appeared at the doorstep of the blood hall. However, the mont he stepped in, Damon’s face instantly changed.
Inside the Blood Hall, there were a dozen players all staring back at him with arrogant crimson eyes. At least twenty vampire players!
It looked like he was finally no longer the only vampire player in the ga. Damon’s eyes turned cold. He knew that this was bound to happen sooner or later, but this was definitely sooner than he had expected.
That too, there wasn’t a single player’s face he recognized among these faces. None of them were outstanding or even top-tier players. They were nobodies.
And yet here they were, standing proudly in the sacred Blood Hall like they belonged, like they had earned this place.
"Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in. If it isn’t our Blood God!" The guy gave Damon a once over, his eyes obviously searching for the rumored legendary item. When he couldn’t find anything, disappointnt flashed in his eyes. "You look pathetic. Not at all like the rumors." He snorted with disdain.
"Hmph. There is really nothing special about him. I bet the bastard was simply hogging all of the blood hall’s rewards for himself and got a couple bonus boosts here and there." Another one sneered.
"You’re just a first-wave leech with a head start, and yet you dared to act as if you owned this entire ga. Ptui."
"Your dog days are over, you little bitch. Our Blood Domination guild is here now, and you can say goodbye to your shitty monopoly over the Blood Hall," the man finished with a venomous grin, his fangs just slightly bared for effect.
Damon didn’t reply imdiately. He simply stood there, arms relaxed, gaze unreadable. His eyes swept over the group with slow precision. "You done?" he finally asked, voice flat, almost bored.
"I see the stray dogs found their way into the blood hall," he chuckled, his voice calm, almost friendly. "Are you standing here to bark or do you have sothing specific to say?"
Damon’s words imdiately triggered the other guy. "Who the fuck are you calling stray dogs? Do you know who I am?!"
Another guy stepped forward and added. "You better fucking log out of this ga and never co back in. Otherwise, we’ll make sure you regret ever playing this ga, you cringy ass loser. Who the fuck nas their character Blood God?"
The guy spat, and the others behind him chuckled, jeered, throwing in taunts of their own. It was all noise. Suddenly, a loud voice interrupted the noise, and everyone quickly quieted down.
"Why are you guys making all this ruckus? You are going to get our guild reputation down!"
A man walked over from the back lazily. He was tall, lean, with black hair pulled into a loose tail. His na hovered above his head in blood-red script: Lucien Nightborne – Guildmaster of Blood Domination.
The other players imdiately stepped aside, so bowing their heads slightly. Clearly, this was soone with actual authority among them.
Lucien glanced at Damon for a mont, his expression unreadable. "So, you’re the infamous Blood God," he said slowly, as if weighing the title against the man in front of him. "You don’t look like much. But then again... power often hides behind dull masks."
Lucien chuckled under his breath, then turned to the others. "Enough posturing. You all embarrassed yourselves more than you threatened him. You want to challenge the so-called Blood God? Then do it in the Arena or the war board. Until then, shut up and earn your keep."
The gathered vampires grumbled but didn’t dare protest. They slunk back into the hall, muttering to themselves.
Lucien turned back to Damon with a faint smile.
