Now reading: Chapter 226: Oops from SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God, a Fantasy novel by Duskblade.

Damon’s entire family who should have technically been in a safe zone collecting reputation points for the soul strength quest were now in prison behind bars. Lola was the only one who managed to run away, that too only long enough for her to send a ssage to Damon.

Damon could see that her na was already greyed out which could only an that she was also now arrested and thrown into a prison cell.

The world around Damon seed to blur as his mind absorbed the blow from all directions. Everything seed to be escalating fast as off a sudden.

One second there was a mont of peace after they faced that demon and sohow survived the encounter and now things were sprialling out of his control once again.

First Kate and Mark. Then Sylvara and the black pool. And now... Lola, and the rest of his family. Taken. All at once. Systematically. Precisely.

This wasn’t chaos. This was orchestration.

Damon’s breath left his lungs in a slow, deliberate exhale. Every emotion, rage, fear, confusion, boiled into a single, terrifying stillness. The kind of silence that cos before an avalanche. The kind that only monsters mastered.

They were going after everyone close to him.

His crimson eyes glowed faintly, like twin suns eclipsed by blood. It was no longer about defending, or retaliating, or even proving sothing. No. Soone had chosen war. And they thought they were playing a strategy ga.

Fine. Let them play.

He was going to show them what it ant to wage war with soone who had lived two lives.

This was not the real world. This was within the fucking ga and if soone was fucking with him, then he was going to fuck right back with them.

Damon instantly shadow-stepped and got out of the blood hall. However, the mont he did his face instantly changed as he could sense a strong aura of divinity and holy light in all directions. Simple players couldn’t possibly possess an aura like this. It had to be NPCs.

Damon only needed one second to confirm it. The streets of Niera were completely flooded with not players but dozens and dozens of NPCs, every single one of them with divine or holy affinity. This was not a normal attack. This was a fucking purification raid.

Right on ti, Damon received the notification.

[Ding! New Quest activated]

[Ding! Defend the sanctuary during the purification raid]

[Ding! Ti Remaining: 59:59 minutes]

And just like that, the tir started counting down.

Behind Damon, Lucien laughed coldly. "Oops. Did I trigger the purification raid at an inconvenient ti? I am sorry, my bad. You seed so confident that you would be able to face the situation so I figured why wait? Hmmm? Maybe if you had been more upset that a reward had been stolen right from under your nose, things would have gone better for you."

Damon didn’t even turn around. His eyes stayed locked on the glowing streets now crawling with radiant knights, holy clergy, armored exorcists, and golden-eyed paladins, each a miniature sun ready to burn the darkness away.

Lucien clicked his tongue in pity. "Wow, this is such an important quest. It’s too bad that we all vampires have to fail this because of one single person like you. You should just quit the ga already and give up. Sotis there is no point in fighting back. There are so people whom can never stand up to. Its best to lick their feet and wag your tail. For example, if you beg right now, maybe I can help you out a lit-"

Lucien’s words cut off in a wet, gurgling gasp. His eyes bulged in disbelief as a clawed hand burst through his ribcage from behind, glowing with seething blood magic. For a mont, Lucien’s body trembled like a marionette with cut strings, and then he crumpled forward, spasming on the cobbled stones, twitching like a slaughtered rat.

Damon stood behind him. His face was expressionless. Not wrathful. Not triumphant.

"You spoke too much," he said as he kicked aside the dried husk of a corpse which was already disintegrating into dust.

anwhile, the sky above Niera burned with descending pillars of golden light as more and more divine and holy NPCs poured in. The first wave of the raid was arriving.

The countdown read:

[58:42]

At the sa ti, several big changes were happening to the blood hall. The entire blood hall rose from the underground sewers like a slumbering behemoth stirring to reclaim its throne.

Blood-red runes blazed to life along the cobblestone streets, forming a massive sigil that pulsed outward from the heart of the structure. The ground cracked, rippled, and then surged upward as obsidian pillars erupted skyward, each one engraved with ancient blood glyphs that hadn’t been seen in centuries.

It was no longer just a ruined sanctuary hidden beneath the filth of Niera’s underbelly, it was now forcing the city to acknowledge its presence.

The ground quaked, and a tremor of ancient power surged into the sky like a beacon. Crimson banners unfurled from its jagged towers, flapping despite the still air, and a low, resonant heartbeat echoed through the city. A heart of blood.

Varnyx’s voice thundered from within the rising spire, amplified by the hall’s core magic: "Children of the night, defenders of the old blood, the ti has co to cast off our chains! Niera will drown in red skies before we yield this sanctuary!"

This was the truth behind the purification raid and the second blood hall progress quest. This quest was basically a city siege quest.

If the purification raid failed, then the city would essentially be theirs. If the purification raid succeeded, then the entire blood hall would be destroyed and no vampires would be able to roam freely in the entire zone, including a few neighbouring cities.

Moreover, all the vampires sired in this base would receive a massive debuff. which they would have to work their asses off to get rid. The entire thing was ridiculously one-sided with the chance of failure extrely high.

This was exactly the reason why Damon had not yet touched this quest with a ten foot pole and yet today his hand had been forced.

Even as Damon watched the scene unfolding in front of him, his crimson eyes narrowed, a new ssage popped up in front of him. It was from ira.
