Damon didn’t respond imdiately. He stood perfectly still, his arms loosely wrapped around Aurora, crimson still dripping from the razor-sharp tips of his claws. His gaze was fixed forward, on the stunned man who had been orchestrating the entire assault, now frozen like a deer staring down an oncoming teor.
The surrounding players, once mocking and arrogant, backed away instinctively. So stumbled. So looked around anxiously, and most turned to the leader to see what he was going to do now.
"How the hell did you co here?" Bertram trembled in rage, his whole fra taut with fury. This man in front of him should not be here. Blood God should not be here. He told him that Blood God will not co here and that he would have the chance to make Aurora his without any issues. But now...
His hands clenched into fists so tightly that his nails bit into his palms, drawing thin lines of blood. His eyes, already wild with shock, beca utterly bloodshot, veins creeping across the whites like cracks in glass.
And through that haze of red, all he could see was her, the woman he had burned for, sacrificed for, bled for, so casually clinging to another man. Laughing. Kissing him like the rest of the world didn’t exist.
Why did it have to be him? Him of all people? Since when has this been going on? Did she already sleep with him? Did he already taste the body that belonged to him and only him?
Aurora was his to do whatever with, and now another man was taking her right in front of him!
Sothing inside him snapped.
A storm of emotions erupted in his chest, lust curdling into hate, longing souring into sothing monstrous and poisonous. It wasn’t just jealousy. It was betrayal, humiliation, devastation. She had belonged to him. She was ant for him. And now?
She had spat on it. With that man.
"I will kill you," Bertram spat. "And I will kill you too whore! You acted like so pure white lotus, so high and mighty and now you are running to him like you are his little bitch?! I will kill you with my bare hands! I will let hundred of my n fuck you like the whore you are! See what I am going to-"
Damon sighed as he drained the blood essence from the guy. "Why do all of you have to give so sort of lengthy monologues? If you are a third-rate villain, act like it and just die already."
Damon received a notification, but he did not bother to check it at the mont. His gaze swept across the other players surrounding them. He then smiled at Aurora, giving her a nod. "I got your back, my love," Aurora shouted in return.
Damon once again chuckled helplessly as his figure disappeared. The next mont, another scream sounded in another part of the battlefield as a player dropped dead, blood spilling everywhere.
The slaughter began, and chaos and mayhem erupted.
ira could only silently swallow the lump in her throat as she watched Damon tear through the battlefield like a hurricane of shadow and blood. His movents were fluid, untraceable. One blink, and he was there. Another blink, and soone was dead, throat crushed, heart pierced, entire body dissolved in a burst of crimson mist.
The aura around him wasn’t that of a player. It was too precise, too rciless, too devilish. A god of war descended into a pit of mortals who had dared to offend the heavens.
The chaos spread like wildfire. The once-smug coalition of players was now fractured, their confidence cracking with each scream, each splatter of gore. So tried to flee, but the barrier remained intact. Others raised weapons, desperate to fight, only to be felled before their attacks even launched.
Damon moved through them like a phantom, laughing softly, blades of condensed blood lashing from his fingers and slicing through enchanted armor like wet parchnt.
His shadow clone appeared on the other side and created even more havoc. Players were killing each other in friendly fire, trying to aim and target either of them. The numbers were starting to dwindle like crazy. The once threatening army now looked like a gathering of noobs with no place to run away from a raid boss gone out of control.
ira was also unleashing hell on everyone from her side. Her attacks were fiery, unrelenting, and devastating. Pillars of fla erupted wherever she pointed, her rage fanning her mana into a tempest. The pain, the humiliation, the fury she had swallowed earlier now turned into fuel.
If Damon was a god of blood, she was a goddess of fire, incinerating anyone who dared approach.
Panic spread. So begged for rcy. Others dropped their weapons. But there would be no rcy.
Damon didn’t speak a word as he stepped into the center of the thinning crowd. His crimson eyes flared, locking onto the survivors, what few remained. "You should have brought an army," he muttered and continued his slaughter.
Within just a few minutes, about half of the army was wiped clean. Damon would have loved to stay back and suck clean the whole damn battlefield but ti was ticking. The barrier had also finally disappeared, which made this the cue for him to leave. "We have sowhere to be." He imdiately signalled Aurora and ira. The two of them understood and used their own teleportation skills to get out of the bloody ss.
Naturally, many other players also teleported out of the hellish zone as soon as they possibly could. Many simply logged out the mont the barrier disappeared.
Damon returned to the teleportation portal and imdiately took the one back to Bolta city, the city nearest and closest to Niera city. Aurora and ira followed him and did the sa.
Once they reached the safety of Bolta city, Aurora opened her mouth to say sothing, but Damon imdiately stopped her. "I cannot talk to you right now. I have sothing that I need to do." Then, without turning back, he ran to Niera City, leaving behind the two won staring in shock.
"What the hell is his problem.." ira mumbled, slightly disappointed, but Aurora’s eyes shone as a new system notification flashed in front of her eyes. "I know what happened." She said slowly.
