ira turned to her, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What do you an? What happened? Where is he going?"
But Aurora wasn’t listening anymore. She was staring at the notification, her expression turning sour. She was clearly frustrated as she clenched her fists. "Why can’t I be by his side when he needs the most? I don’t like it. I do not like it at all."
She clenched her fists and stared in the direction where Damon had disappeared. "I need to form my mana core soon. I cannot be weak and useless ever again. I do not want to be his burden ever again."
ira nodded. There were a lot of things happening and a lot of changes around them. The world as they knew it was coming to an end. Today was just a glimpse of how they would be if they did not have enough strength, always at the rcy of soone else.
"We need to beco stronger. A lot stronger." She nodded in agreent, her eyes turning fiery with determination. Never again did she want to ssage soone and wait so desperately for them to co and rescue her. "None of those filthy scums would dare to co near us next ti."
The two won discussed their next plans and then dispersed. The players who died would take a couple of hours to respawn, so they could move freely for the ti being without the threat of being ambushed again.
Not that they were stupid enough to get caught in the middle of an ambush like that in the first place. A few people they had trusted turned their backs against them, and they ended up in the situation. Otherwise, they would not have been caught off guard so easily.
ria teleported to her class hall, where she had the backing of a mysterious ntor, and Aurora teleported to the divine temple to use the temple’s inner sanctum for her core formation. She shot one more look towards Neira city before setting off to finish her goal.
"I am coming, my love. Just give a little ti, and I will never ever have to leave your side again."

anwhile, Damon finally arrived in Niera City, instantly teleporting to the blood hall using one of the teleportation circles outside. There were two of them in two different corners that allowed players to join the respective faction they chose.
Damon took the one marked by blood and directly arrived at the inner sanctum. The entire place was abuzz with activity as all of the local vampire NPCs had arrived, both from Niera City and the neighboring cities. So of them were fighting at the forefront, while so of them were recuperating inside the blood hall. From the looks of things, they were taking turns and fighting.
This made sense as there were not enough NPCs in the first place. Thanks to the basic hall upgrade, at least these many NPCs were present. The vampire player numbers were also non-existent, which currently worked against them.
No matter how one looked at it, the vampire side was clearly losing. Their defenses were down to the last 30% and the first wave was still completely rampant, the numbers of the holy and divinity players not in the least reduced.
This battle was almost over, and the vampires were most definitely losing to the purification raid.
At this rate, every single one of the vampire NPCs would be dead, and the players would receive a massive debuff. At the sa ti, the light faction players would receive a system-wide reward that would push the Dark Faction even deeper into decline.
But none of it mattered. The battle wasn’t over until it was really over. Damon was here now. He already knew what he had to do to turn the tide
Damon walked past the injured and exhausted NPCs, his blood-stained boots leaving red streaks on the obsidian floor of the blood hall.
Murmurs followed in his wake as the other vampire NPCs looked down upon him for not contributing to the raid yet. He didn’t acknowledge them. His eyes were locked forward, toward the trembling gates of the inner sanctum that stood as the last defense.
He opened the gates and entered the chamber of the Blood Altar, its dormant sigils now fully lit up and pulsing bright red. The main power for the defenses flowed from the very sa blood altar.
Damon took a deep breath and then started filling up the altar with blood essence. Thick, rich, pure blood essence seeped out of him and spiraled into the altar pool. The crimson tendrils were a sight to behold as more and more blood essence poured out of him, every single tendril strengthening the blood altar a little bit more.
Soon, the defenses of the blood hall slowly started to co back up and regenerate. The 30% rose to 31%, to 32% and then slowly all the way to 40% before finally stopping.
The mont the defenses surged past 40%, a low hum echoed through the entire Blood Hall. The sigils lining the altar walls ignited in tandem, one after the other, forming a pulsing circuit of ancient power.
A faint blood-red do shimred around the fortress, and a new alert appeared before every vampire NPC present.

And just like that, the leaderboard, which was completely empty up until now, all of a sudden lit up with a single na.

Damon grinned. The first step was successfully completed, but he was not done just yet. He then clicked on his reputation points with the vampire race. In total, he had about 55,000 reputation points, which was just about enough to put his plan into motion.
He clicked on his reputation points, and the next second, a new system prompt appeared.
[Ding! Do you wish to use your reputation points to empower the vampire base?]
"Yes," Damon answered without hesitation.
