"What? You thought I’ll call myself the strongest because I’m fast?"
Llumino asked with an amused smile, looking at White’s visibly shocked expression.
"I think speed is king sotis. Didn’t expect soone called the fastest to call that bullshit."
White replied.
"My speed is born from my lightning, which is a unique type of lightning."
"Take a Light Elental Awakener as an example, say Galaxy Altherion."
"Technically, light is faster than lightning, right? Actual lightning bolts that move through the air are much, much slower, yet I’m still called the fastest, even when there are light users."
"Why is that?"
White asked.
"Because my lightning is combined with light, making a dual elentalist with a perfect fusion of lightning and light. That makes faster than any lightning user in existence and any light user too."
"But that doesn’t an I’m invincible."
"There are insane awakenings and runic laws out there that can nullify speed."
"Say, for example, Galaxy Erica, the strongest Ti Elentalist on Earth."
"I can run faster, but she can catch simply by slowing down ti itself, freezing my speed to a crawl."
"And even she herself, with her broken ti ability, has once been defeated by another Galaxy-ranked Awakener during one of her raging episodes."
He claid, leaving White’s mind blank.
"So the word strong is a complex one, but there is indeed a list of those who are the strongest."
"Strong in the sense that they possess such broken awakenings that it’s almost impossible for other Awakeners to subdue them."
"They’re only ten, and they’re the ones called Galaxies."
A gleam crossed in White’s eyes.
"Oh, so that’s why he’s called Galaxy Altherion."
He had thought that only Galaxy-ranked experts were called with a "Galaxy" in their na, but then, Llumino was also a Galaxy, yet everyone had simply called him Llumino back in the club, not bothering to add the title.
"Yes. The Galaxy title is a status symbol as one of the Ten Strongest Galaxy-ranked Experts, and Galaxy Altherion is one of them."
Llumino admitted.
"And I guess this ranking changes with new, stronger Galaxy-ranked mbers?"
White asked.
"No."
"Apart from Galaxy Altherion, who ascended to the rank three years ago, there’s been no new Galaxy."
"You don’t fight to beco a Galaxy or challenge another Galaxy-ranked mber."
"The destruction that would be wrought from such a battle is too great just to end up with a title."
"So, how did you get chosen?"
White asked.
"Why? Want to join in?"
Llumino asked, chuckling.
"I just think if I’m one, then I’ll be able to see them all."
"A fan of all things strong, huh? But really, there’s no need to go so far."
"There are only ten Galaixes, and you’ll easily identify and see them the longer you get used to EGES."
He spoke.
"As for how you get the label, that’s usually Humanity Ascension’s decision, especially Ultimate Commander Err. He himself issues the title."
"He’s quite the respected person in Humanity Ascension."
White comnted.
"He is. Most of us owe our lives to him, after all..."
Llumino said.
White opened his lips to ask sothing, but then,
DRIIING!
The sound of ringing echoed from Llumino’s right wrist, and he turned to it.
"Return, Llumino."
It was a familiar voice... Galaxy Altherion, and the connection was severed.
"Seems like we got a new mission."
Llumino said to White, who also rose to his feet.
CRACKLE!
Lightning crackled once, and Llumino imdiately disappeared into the sky.
White’s eyes narrowed at the speck of lightning ahead, and only now was he truly able to see:
There was indeed a streak of pure blue light mixed in with Llumino’s lightning Elent.
At first, he had thought that since Llumino was the fastest human alive, he should copy his Awakening Soul, granting himself that title, but now, he had decided to hold off after hearing Llumino’s explanation of his own speed.
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!
His two massive wings ripped out from his back, and with a single flap, he soared into the sky, following behind the lightning trail left behind.
---
"Any information that I should be aware of, Snow?"
Galaxy Altherion’s voice echoed through the cockpit as the jet they were in flew forward at incredible speed through the dark void.
He was currently standing behind the white-haired lady, whose fingers continuously worked across the flashing panels before her.
"Quite a few things, Captain."
She said.
"I’m all ears."
"Firstly, this particular vessel is a resource-search type, and it was deed lost approximately three months ago by the EGES System."
She said.
"Not the first ti that’s happened. Certain zones in the area do sever signals."
Phinx, the purple-haired lady, said from the side while operating the sa panels.
"That’s true, but... three months with no incoming or outgoing signals is quite a long ti."
"Besides, all caras on the ship, even the ones hidden away from the vessel operators and accessible only by us, have sohow been blocked off."
"Maybe their ship is damaged?"
Callisto asked.
"Yes, that’s plausible, but I ran the codes on what’s really affecting the caras, and what I got has nothing to do with the usual error codes caused by normal jet damage."
"This..."
She said, pausing and turning her head slightly toward Galaxy Altherion, who leaned forward at the blinking panel she was referencing.
He observed it quietly for a mont before a gleam of golden light flashed through his eyes.
"Alienatic runic re-coding?"
"This... this is no ordinary Galaxial Creature. This is the work of an intelligent alien being."
He mused beneath his breath before his creased brows relaxed.
"Prepare for combat. There’s a high chance we’ve just co across another intelligent alien race."
He ordered as they all began tapping their necks, their armor quickly enveloping them.
White watched all of this from the back with not much interest in his eyes, but then,
"Familiar..."
The word echoed in his mind, and White froze.
’Huh?’
"Familiar... The darkness."
