Dilapidated Area:
After so talk, three of them decided to split up and search. In this way, they could investigate the place quickly.
When Daniel and Betsy left, Jeremy started his own search. His eyes swept across the area before finding a drainage cover.
He couldn't help but recall the departnt ranking competition. He went to the drainage cover and opened it.
Then he saw stairs going downwards. Jeremy decided to check out the place first. He started climbing down before touching the ground.
The underground drainage tunnel was big. As he expected, the place was dry and rundown as well. It must have been abandoned long ago.
He didn't know why the City Administration was neglecting this matter. He didn't know whether they were deliberately doing it or not. But still, it's risky to leave this place untouched.
Swoosh!
Jeremy then took out his katana and made a casual swing. A small air-tearing sound was heard. He was hoping to hear so noise.
But to his surprise, the place was unusually silent. He began to look around. As ti passed, he saw no sign of beasts.
So he decided to leave. Just as he turned around and began walking towards the stairs.
Rustle!
His ears caught sothing moving. The sound was low. If not for his heightened senses, he would have missed it.
It's one of the advantages of having Supre Combat Body Talent. It helps him be aware of his surroundings.
It's helpful when it cos to a hostile environnt. Jeremy gripped the katana tightly. He continued to listen.
As ti passed, the sound increased. This ti, the sound was clear and distinct.
"There are beasts here," Jeremy muttered to himself.
He felt glad that he didn't allow those two to co down here.
Shortly afterward,
A 5ft tall, pitch-black beast with red eyes appeared. The claws of the beast were deadly sharp. The beast had razor-sharp teeth. No one would want to get bitten by it. The tail of the beast was also thorny.
"Rat Beast!"
Jeremy uttered in surprise, because he had never seen this type of Rat Beast before, especially one with thorny spikes on its tail.
The Rat Beast emanated the aura of Tier-2 Power. Upon seeing the prey in its territory, the Rat Beast let out a sound before sprinting forward to attack.
Squeak!
Jeremy held his katana and readied himself to attack. In the blink of an eye, the Rat Beast reached him. The movents of the beast slowed down in his eyes.
Cut!
Jeremy brought his katana down. The sharp blade severed the body into two pieces.
Puchak!
The blood splattered. The stomach-churning sll began to spread.
Jeremy once again swung the sword. The blood that had stained the blade was cleared away. He then looked at the corpse before gazing into the deeper part of the tunnel.
He thought the sll would attract more Rat Beasts.
Beep!
Suddenly, he received a call from Daniel Stone. Realizing they must have found sothing, he answered the call.
"Brother, Jeremy. We have found the Rat Beasts. There are quite a number of them hidden here," Daniel's voice sounded from the other end.
Jeremy understood that both of them were together.
"Tell the location; I'm coming there," Jeremy said to him.
Daniel answered him. Hearing that they were not far away, he quickly glanced at the corpse before climbing the stairs.
After reaching the top, he closed the drainage cover before walking towards their location.
Shortly afterward,
A huge 10ft Black Rat Beast erged from the deepest part. Behind the beast, there were many Tier-2 Rat Beasts making squeaky sounds.
The enormous size of the Rat Beast was a sign that it was the leader of the Rat Beasts. Its strength was above Tier-2. This huge beast was clearly displaying the power of Tier-3.
If Jeremy had been there, he wouldn't have left without dealing with the beasts. The Tier-3 Corrupted Rat Beast walked up to the corpse of the dead Tier-2 Rat Beast.
Seeing that the beast was killed by the enemy, the Tier-3 Rat Beast let out a strange noise. After hearing that, the Rat Beast army behind it beca completely enraged.
Even the City Workers and Guards would not have expected such a number of Rat Beasts living here. If they had known, they would surely have regretted their decision not to take action seriously.
anwhile,
Jeremy ca to another drainage tunnel. Daniel and Betsy were standing there.
After walking up to them, he asked, "Did you guys take any action?"
"There seem to be more than 10 Rat Beasts living there. If we kill more of them, it might cause a huge problem," Betsy Lowe said in a solemn tone.
"More than 10, huh?" Jeremy muttered.
He was sure that the previous tunnel might have more than one Rat Beast. He perceived trouble.
"The City Works have no clue right now. Just one location has this many Rat Beasts. What about the others?" Jeremy said with disappointnt.
Ever since his experience with the beast invasion, he thought that City A had failed to implent any preventive asures. The Rat Beast problem was one such issue.
What if any higher-tier beasts managed to control these Rat Beasts? It would spell doom for City A.
"Sigh!"
"These Gray Rat Beasts are agile. I wonder where they have co from," Daniel said with a sigh.
Jeremy was stunned.
"What do you an?" he asked.
"Brother, the Rat Beasts here are extrely fast. That's why we called you here," Daniel Stone answered.
"No, I'm asking about the color and features of the Rat Beast," Jeremy said.
Betsy and Daniel noticed Jeremy's serious expression.
Betsy said, "It was 3 ft in size. It was gray with black eyes. The Rat Beast was so agile that we found it difficult to handle."
"3ft Gray Rat Beast," Jeremy muttered.
"What's their power?" Jeremy asked back.
"Tier-2," Daniel replied.
"F@ck," Jeremy thought. Why didn't he get any normal mission? Each one of his missions had so problems.
"Here, I found two kinds of Rat Beasts," Jeremy thought.
