Dark Swamp
Jeremy struggled to stand up. Both the beasts were monstrous. It was hard to withstand their attacks with his physical body alone.
Buzz!
It wasn’t only the needle-like mouthparts that were deadly; their body defenses were also strong. The buzzing sound from the insect beasts was causing dizziness.
One of the blood mosquitoes moved forward. Its needle-like mouthpart was aid at his body. He tried to defend himself, moving the katana blade again.
Swoosh!
The flat side of the blade ca into contact with the needle.
Boom!
He felt a huge, forceful impact. His body was thrown off again, flying backward before landing hard on the ground.
"Aaaahhh!"
A small, muffled grunt escaped from his mouth. He held the blade’s handle in his left hand, then he pulled the handgun from its holster.
Buzz!
The two mosquitoes ca once again. They were closer to him now. He felt a sense of crisis once more.
His transparent vision saw that the needle-like mouthparts were aid at his body. He shifted his weight.
Boom!
The needle-like mouthpart missed its target and pierced the ground. A shockwave spread across the area.
Jeremy didn’t stop. He shifted his body again. The mouthpart of the second mosquito struck the ground as well.
Again, the shock force uprooted the green patches nearby.
On the other side, the Tier-6 Beast Tar grinned evilly.
"The target is caught. He doesn’t have a trump card anymore," he said with a smile.
"He can’t attack us anymore," the Tier-5 Beast Tar added.
The other one nodded his head. The three other Tier-5 Beast Tars were already injured, resting on the ground.
After hearing those words, the three injured Beast Tars sighed in relief. They hated the Tier-3 Beast Tar; they couldn’t believe they had been injured by him.
The Tier-6 Beast Tar was in no hurry to take action. He believed the two blood mosquitoes would suck the target dry soon.
anwhile, Jeremy Night continued to crawl along the ground to avoid the attacks. At the sa ti, he used his starlight power to coat the bullets.
Once he did that, he didn’t waste any more ti. When the needle-like mouthparts got close to him again.
Bang! Bang!
He pulled the trigger, firing continuous shots at the compound eyes of both beasts.
Puckak!
In an instant, the starlight bullets punctured the compound eyes of both beasts. They were completely blinded.
Shriek!
Both blood mosquitoes made a weird sound. They were badly injured, and blood gushed forth from their wounds.
"Aaarghh!"
Two blood-curdling screams sounded again. The remaining two Beast Tars received a backlash from their beasts being hard. They faced the sa fate as the previous Beast Tars.
Swoosh!
Without waiting for the Tier-6 leader’s order, they called back their two blood mosquitoes.
Seeing that, the faces of the other mbers changed drastically. This ti, everyone saw it clearly: the target was using firearms.
The bullets appeared like white streaks. Those abnormal bullets were the reason for their Lifeline beasts’ injuries.
The Tier-5 Beast Tars were afraid for the first ti upon seeing the Tier-3 Beast Tar. Their own bodies were more vulnerable than their beasts. If they were to encounter those abnormal bullets, they would face certain death.
The Tier-6 Beast Tar’s face changed drastically. Once again, he had been fooled by the target. This target was not easy to eliminate.
Once he realized this, he summoned his own Lifeline beast.
Boom!
A humongous beast, over five ters in size, landed on the ground. The landing itself caused a shock force that swept away the surroundings.
The five Tier-5 Beast Tars were terrified. The Tier-6 beast was not an ordinary creature. There was only one tier of difference, but the gap in power was huge.
The spider had eight legs, all of them covered in thorny hairs. The small eyes of the spider located the target. It had already received the order from its contractor.
Swoosh!
It didn’t get close. Instead, it prepared to shoot spider silk at the target. Once trapped, no one could escape the entanglent of that web. Unless the target had Tier-6 power or above, their fate was basically sealed.
Boom!
Jeremy saw the massive creature. The power radiating from it was far above the previous beasts. Its presence told him it was a Tier-6 beast.
"Explosive Steps!"
He used his movent technique to retreat. At the sa ti, he used his second eye ability. His X-ray vision saw through the inner body of the beast.
It was hard to find a weakness. Even if he did find one, he would have to get close to the beast to attack, which was incredibly dangerous.
Boom!
Right at that mont, Jeremy Night saw the spider webs shot by the beast. They were about to land on him and trap him.
Seeing that, he moved at an even greater speed. He had practiced not only his blade moves but his movent thods as well.
His speed was faster than ever before. The spider webs were just about to land on him, but he escaped the trap at the last second.
Boom!
The spider webs landed on the ground with a heavy thud. Jeremy didn’t stop. He thought this was the right opportunity to escape.
He intended to go deeper into the swamp. If he could reach the unexplored area, he might finally be safe.
He knew going against a group of Tier-5 Beast Tars was not easy. If it were one-on-one, he would have killed the enemy already.
But a group fight was different; the coordinated attacks from the Lifeline beasts forced him to stay on the run. He could only retaliate and cause minor injuries.
To completely end the life of a beast, he needed a few more moves, but the other beasts never gave him that chance.
Furthermore, the Tier-6 Beast Tar had been watching from the sidelines.
If that leader had acted earlier, Jeremy’s life would have truly been at risk. But the leader had underestimated him and trusted the Tier-5 Beast Tars.
Now, Jeremy had injured the Lifeline beasts of the other Beast Tars. They were in no condition to provide support. Only the Tier-6 Beast Tar could act alone now.
